Open thread
When;Thursday, Nov 13 (early morning)
Rating; TBA shouldn't be over pg-13 though
Characters; Namine, Mikoto (whoever wants to be)
(ooc: Don't take it personally if I make this a closed thread after two or three people show up. Playing with 50 + characters would be a little uncomfortable; not to mention chaotic.^^;)
Summary; Namine is walking towards the Hall of the Missing to see if Kairi's portrait is really in there. She may also want to go job hunting soon after.
Log;
She was trying to focus single-mindedly on what she was doing - something Namine had down to an art form when something was bothering her. She was trying not to think of the hurtful words that Roxas had so casually tossed at her. It didn't seem like he was anything like Sora. Or, maybe he was and he was denying it. Either way...seeing someone like that wearing Sora's face was not something she was ready to confront. There was a chance to live her own life here. At least for a while. And without, if she could help it, painful experiences.
So she wouldn't think about it. Not now, anyway.
She needed to know if she had been told the truth. If Kairi were really here at one time, then there was the possibility of her return. She just hoped that meeting her Other wouldn't be as painful as the last person she had decided she wanted to know. But would it matter if she was only going to become this person anyway?

The morning had found her momentarily confused as she woke, then determinedly purposeful as she left the house for a walk, attempting to familiarize herself with her surroundings. The city was strange and new to her - an intriguing enemy at worst and an engaging challenge at best - and she walked slowly, her posture somewhat guarded, content to simply take in everything around her.
The figure she found herself about to cross paths with was not familiar to her - hardly a surprise, of course - and as they drew closer on the path Makoto offered the girl a curious glance and a polite smile.

She was making her way piecing together what people had told her. She should have just gone inside a shop to look for a map. After all, Youko had said that everything here was pretty much provided for people under eighteen. If Nobodys had an age.
She chided herself for taking off so impulsively. If she had wanted to prove she was naive, and that this was the first time she was independent she had just done a good job. Her cheeks heated.
Then she noticed Makoto's glance and smiled back at the older girl.
"Good morning."
no subject
She smiled back brightly and hesitated only a moment before walking closer. "Good morning," she replied evenly. "You're out early. Or, rather, we are." This was said noncommittally - an offhand comment with the potential to be a conversation starter, or not - as she flashed her another grin.
no subject
"I suppose it is early." she agreed. "I'm looking for someone though. Or at least their picture. Are you new here too?"
Why did she want to talk to someone so badly? Was it because she had just spoken to Roxas yesterday? Was she looking for proof that not everyone was that cold, that unreachable? She knew what people said about Nobodies. She had been reminded too often. But then what was the explanation for Nobodys like her or even Demyx, who believed they still had hearts?

She was more than happy to engage in conversation; if nothing else, being in somebody's company kept down the noise level of the ticking noise. The rest of what had been said took a moment to sink in, and when it did Makoto tilted her head with another curious expression. "Whose picture, and why?"
no subject
She had heard a story about there being as many worlds as there were stars, but it still felt a bit overwhelming at times.
"Mine." she replied. "Or at least the other me. She should look like me."
no subject
Thus, she looked even more curious upon hearing Namine's response, processing the information for a second with a somewhat confused expression. "There's another you?" she asked.
no subject
She noted Mikoto's confused expression, but she didn't expect to be understood. Still, being heard was nice.

"It wasn't explained to me." she admitted. "Someone named Yoite said I wouldn't like it. I was told to finds the carousel and go north. I hope I'm walking the right way. What were you searching for, Mikoto?"
no subject
"I'm just taking a look around and getting used to the landscape," she replied, gesturing vaguely at the environment around them. "I haven't seen the carousel yet, or this other place. Let's go together, if you want. Strength in numbers, right?"
The offer was made casually, with a cheerful grin, and her pace did not slow as she waited for a response.
[ ooc: Also, her name is Makoto. :) thanks! ]
no subject
"Y-yes." she agreed. "Strength in numbers."
Not everyone is like them. she chided herself. Will you stop remembering that? It's time to forget about it already. You CAN trust some people.
She would never forget though.
"I've never actually seen a carousel." she confided. "I mean, I know what it is, but not up close. Have you?"
(ooc: FAIIIIILLLLLL. ^^; Sorry about that.)

[ ooc: Hee! It's fine, we all do it. ]

Another question. Forever curious. That had always been apart of her , except with freedom it was surfacing.
She raised an eyebrow. "This one would be different?"
There was obviously a lot to see here. When she had time, she was going to draw it all. Pictures of this new world.

They turned the corner and there was the carousel they had been speaking of in the distance. She scrutinized it for a moment.
Was something different about this one?

She walked past the carousel. Which way was it winding? It still looked magnificent even if something felt off.
ooc: you will be online tonight?

"North..." she murmured contemplatively before breaking into a smile and turning towards what she hoped was the right direction from there. A pause, then, "There seems to be lots to discover in this city. I'm sure we'll get to have lots of fun finding them all." It was difficult to keep her inherent optimism out of her voice. It wasn't 'home', but that didn't make exploring this new city any less interesting.
[ ooc: I'm online from the time of this comment for the next five hours, and I will hooopefully be online tomorrow all day. What timezone are you in? ]
no subject
She smiled at Makoto's optimism. "I think you're right."
The thought also kept nagging her that there must be some reason she was brought to this world; but she'd have to deal with that question at another time.
ooc:[I am central time, USA. But if for some reason the times zones are a problem, I can email you.]

She waited as the blonde caught up, then continued forward again at her usual pace. "Are amusement parks not common where you're from, then?" she asked quietly, almost as an afterthought, as she remembered some of their earlier conversation about the carousel.
[ ooc: online now for hopefully at least the majority of the day. <3 Hope you're around too! I'm bad with timezones. ]
edit
"No, I don't believe so." she said quietly.
They stopped in front of an ominous looking building. At the same time it frightened her,it seemed to whisper to her to come closer.
"I have to go inside." she told Makoto. "I'll be quick. I only need to see one thing. Wait for me here."
Somehow, she felt better knowing here was a reason to have to come back out rather than they both get drawn into that place.
Re: edit
"If you're not back soon I'll come looking for you," she said - a reassurance given with a soft smile. With that, she leaned back against a tree to wait.
Re: edit
It was weird standing in that hall alone staring at her own face - her other face. Wherever she is , I wish I was with her. She'd tell me what I'm supposed to do next. Why was I sent to this place?
[fifteen minutes later]
She could have stayed there, looking up at Kairi's picture for a long time. But Makoto was waiting. She had it pretty well memorized by the time she came out.
Re: edit
"Are you all right?" she asked quietly as she approached.
Re: edit
She made an awkward gesture. "But at least I know who I'm looking for was really here at one time. Maybe she'll come back."

She glanced up at the building one last time. "Let's move away from this place. I'm beginning to understand why people think it's creepy."
