Log; Completed

When; November 20
Rating; PG
Characters; Jadis the White Witch [livejournal.com profile] queenoftraitors and Tao 'Lian' Ren [livejournal.com profile] tongari_shaman
Summary; The White Witch is on the prowl again
Log;

It was almost sad, really, how easily Jadis continued to find subjects for her experiment, despite the continued news of citizens turning into statues that was all over the network. Almost sad, but not quite, because why be less than pleased when things went well and worked in your favor?

Today she was again prowling the streets, keeping her eyes and ears open for any potential candidates. With each spell lasting only a brief time, Jadis had to take care not to choose the same victim twice. But the city was a populous one, finding a suitable target shouldn't prove difficult.

"Baka, for goodness sake, don't wolf down your breakfast so quick, you'll get a stomachache!"

Why yes, it was another typical City morning for Ren. Getting his roommate out of bed, feeding him and making sure the Baka-Ainu was ready to go to work was the normal way to start the day. However, while he acted annoyed at the whole situation, he'd become used to, hell, even egun liking the routine. After all, Horo was an idiot, but he was Ren's idiot, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Sighing to himself, he quietly slipped of the the apartment and into the hallway of Building eleven, strtching out a little. He couldn't concentrate inside with Horo wolfing down his breakfast, so he chose to do his morning warm up outside Room Twenty Seven. He had to prepare before his daily training, as well as making sure the blue haired moron on the other side of the door wasn't late for work.

Again, a day that wasn't out of the ordinary at all, at least the shaman thought so.

Still, sorry I'm being spazzy,family film night was sprung on me ^^;

Meanwhile, the teenage shaman was busy stretching his arms out, caught up in evening out his breathing to really notice anything, his back turned away from the woman, brows furrowed in concentration. Nothing would disturb him from this...

...Except for the sudeen, slight chill that ran up his spine, the sense of bitter cold from the darkest winter quickly falling upon him.

Was someone there?

And we're just about wrapped up anyway I'm guessing. ^^~

Ren didn't have a chance to turn, or really move at all. He barely had the time to feel the soft tap on the nape of neck, and attempt to look to see his attacker before...nothing.

The cold seized him, and spread through his body like icewater was running through his veins. His form went rigid, unable to move, not even shake or quiver in reaction to the icy touch. He didn't know what was happening, but felt like the end. All he could see was flashes in front of him, memories speeding by. His spirit partner, his friends, his family...

And the love of his life, who would right now be wondering what was taking him so long to get back inside the apartment they shared.

As these thoughts swept into his mind, Ren took a last shuddering breath, before all he knew went black.
