log; in progress - open-ish?

When; Sunday, December 21st, evening
Rating; G-ish; there are children present.
Characters; Everyone who thinks they should be there.
Summary; Clow invites friends over for Yule; hilarity ensues?
Log;

Clow hummed a tuneless, meandering song as he put up the last of the holly in the hallway and then flopped into the armchair with a self-satisfied sigh. It was difficult not to be a little apprehensive about the number of people, the possible fighting, the fact that at least one person was going to say something about his decorating sense (which would only guarantee that there would be more tinsel next time), the potential for awkwardness - this wasn't even a large affair, but he struggled to remember the last time he had so many people in his house at once. Even so, his overpowering emotion was one of thanks to everyone who would show up, for--

... Well, he couldn't bring himself to say it, even to himself; it sounded kind of pathetic, as if he didn't just expect people to show up and have a good time. It was also pretty self-centered to think that they were coming because of him, but that was pretty much par for the course with Clow. In any case, he kept quiet about it and just sat there for a moment or two with his eyes closed and this smug grin on his face. The moment only got better when he stopped attaching words or thoughts to it, and this one was so enjoyable that he didn't get up to answer the door until the bell actually rang.

Ding-dong, Clow! You can has a Lucy waiting outside your door.

Ding-dong! Akiha has come for a spot of tea.

Stepping inside, she removes her newly bought scarf, and puts it inside one of two bags.

"Haah, the cold doesn't bother me, Clow-sa-"

Now that she had the chance to take a good look at him, she could almost see the resemblance, like someone had cast an aging curse on her brother.

Ding-dong~ Well, there's hardly a need for her to ring the bell, but there you are. She's dressed warmly for the occasion and there is a bottle of rich cider tucked into the crook of her arm.

She neither dinged nor donged, because she saw Akiha going in, and it's not like she didn't know the man well enough that she thought she had to announce her presence at the door anyway. She came in about the time Akiha did, and after putting her coat and other things down, she joined the two. "Clow-kun, hi! Hello, Miss Akiha."

If he ever calls her that she will flay him alive, fr srs Well, it's not really anything she's not used to, by now - the wait is a bit unexpected, but she can deal with it. She does give him a bit of a smile as he opens the door, stepping inside. "I did say I would, didn't I?"

Oh bugger, it's Hiyori-chan. Still, freaky as hell as that last curse may have been, it's best not to dwell on it (or at least, try not to). And who knows, it might be interesting to see the girl's reaction to being treated nicely by Lucy for once. So she'll walk up to the loli, smiling in what some people might call genuine and some people might call 'scary as hell'. "Ah, Hiyori - it's been some time, hasn't it?" The tone isn't overtly hostile, but rather frighteningly friendly. Social-girl mode, get~.

Her. Why did she always have to be here? Why did she always have to go near her. Hiyori would have been PERFECTLY content to just ignore the woman, but there she was.

She was in public, though. And she had to make an effort for the sake of everyone else. "Lucy. Yes, it has. The other week, in fact." Not that she particularly wanted to remember that- though it had made the other kisses that day easier by sheer fact that it hadn't been Lucy, but it didn't make the memory all that pleasant.

She steps inside with a slight spring in her walk; clearly the cold didn't faze her that much.

"It was a nice walk. And we finally have some snow; it looks like we'll be having a white Christmas, ne~" There's a slight sparkle in her eye when she mentions snow, but it's gone quickly. "Am I late to the party?"

[identity profile] wishyuumay.livejournal.com 2008-12-23 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh good~" She laughs, shaking out her hair a little and and brushing imaginary snow off her sleeves. And of course, the laugh says Of course~ and much more besides~ Autumn may be her favourite season, but snowball fights and sledding in winter rank at the top of her favourite seasonal activities. Besides drinking that is. And speaking of drinking...

"Well, I didn't bring it for you to squirrel away~" Which means yes in Yuuko-talk.

"Lies and slander!" she declares, but there is a laugh in it and she hums tunelessly (or perhaps it is merely a tune that has long since been forgotten) as she follows him.

"Not worth the effort," she decides airily.

"Even I can't pull off the half-decayed look very well, Clow," she replies lightly, pulling some mugs from nowhere the cupboards. It figures that she'd know just where they are. "I've been kept busy with other matters, however." Such as tiny!Fai's arrival followed closely by two others.

She knows what she'd like to do, but there are limitations and rules to be observed and so Yuuko can only settle for doing what she can for now. Besides...

"They are resilient children," she murmurs, stepping up beside him. "And their bonds are strong; let's just believe in that right now. It is the season of faith, after all."
