(no subject)

When; 4th January, Sunday afternoon/evening
Rating; PG, PG13?
Characters; Everyone who wanted to attend Sirja's baptism!
Summary; Sirja Voss is officially a Catholic. Celebrate! Quietly.
Log;

The ceremony itself is simple and respectful; a little odd by dint of where it is and the discreet attendance of Scar, but by late afternoon Sirja is officially baptised a Catholic. (Donna hopes, idly, that they're not still here when it comes to communion and confirmation.)

Sirja's baptismal gown is a pretty thing, of pale cream and gold, with fake seed pearls stitched into patterns along the seams, and it should be nice for how determined Donna was to have it made in time. (She may or may not have still been stitching seed pearls this morning. No one will ever know.) The girl of the hour is not nearly as interested in the proceedings as her busy-body mother, who leads the way back to her apartment for the dinner that Jack's catered and a bit of an unwind.

All attendees are welcome. Donna looks simultaneously like pressure's been released and like she may implode, but happy-tired.

[ooc: BECAUSE this would be totally absurd wrt tagging order, feel free to just...go wild in the comments here, tag whoever wherever, keep track of it amongst yourselves, what all. If your character attended the baptism but isn't going to come for food afterwards, that's all good too! Hit me up if you need anything.]

Niko hasn't been out much in the past week, and while he can blame some of that on a large number of people telling him to stay home or go back to bed, he's also been deliberately cautious about where and when he's seen. Sirja's baptism is one occasion that he's made time for, though he can't stay for long after the ceremony is over.

[OOC: Going to bed at some undetermined time that is nevertheless in the near future. Will backdate.]

It's a fact that Rictor isn't the most social person in the world on any given day. His natural proclivity is to sit on a couch watching television re-runs and shouting 'you semi-evil mutants get off my lawn!' He likes parties like this, though, things that have meaning. Things that say your family cares about the fact that you exist and wants the best for you.

So he's there to be mildly awkward in his reasonably fancy brown suit and eat all of Donna's food but also to wish his sincerest, and to give a present to Donna for the baby; a pearl and mother of pearl rosary. When he appears at the door to Donna's apartment after leaving the church, holding that wrapped package in one hand now, he thinks for only a moment how sad it is he's never going home again. He won't be at any of his cousin's baptisms.

He raps on the door gently, wondering if it's unlocked.

"Uh, are we only fashionably early yet? 'Cause I don't know if you wanted us here, like, fifteen minutes early or thirty minutes late so I tried the first one."
