The words felt like a slap to the face. Eyes widening, her throat suddenly tightened, closing up and it took a moment to breath. She had known when she'd seen Kyou that things would be complicated, but she hadn't had time to prepare to hear something so harsh. The feeling was close to someone piercing her heart with a hook and jerking it. Physically it hurt.

Opening her mouth to try and combat his words, she found herself abruptly without a response. Instead, something warm trickled down her cheek, leaving a wet trail in it's wake. The tears had popped back again without warning, and before she knew it she had released Kyou's arm, a surprised hand rising to numbly wipe away at the salty liquid that had appeared.

Bands abruptly falling over her eyes, she unconsciously took a step back from Kyou, and away from the door. Sucking in a shaky breath she floundered momentarily again while she tried to find her voice.

"I-I just wanted to...I mean...I know. I know I'm not blood family...b-but I always thought that Shigure-san...a-and Kyou-kun, that even so..."

Taking another breath she swallowed once more. The whole in her heart still hurting.

"I mean...I...I just wanted to..." She continued, voice growing lower. Her words faltered as she fell into uncertain mumbles. "I wanted to right things..."
