The voice sent a shiver up his spine, an instantaneous reaction of both fear and disgust physically churning within him. Why? What has she ever done to him? Why does he hate her so much? It's not like what we did was against any rules or anything. The previous cats had been allowed the freedom for that sort of thing. Shishou's existence was proof enough of that.
Akito didn't normally give a crap about what he did, with the exception of his several month disappearing act, but that was to be expected. The cat was supposed to be the one that longed to be in the family, that wanted to be included. If the cat skipped town and wanted nothing to do with the family, where did that leave everyone else? The farce Kyou portrayed had nothing to do with wanting to belong...but was merely the most efficient way to grasp the anger and place the blame away from himself.
This situation wasn't of Tohru's doing. Though she might have started it, he had gone along with it and hadn't protested either of their actions. If he was truly honest with himself, the fact that she'd gotten mixed up within their family was his fault. She should be living the perfect life, away from the city, with the person that was most important to her, her mother. Kyou's mistake that day had cost her too much already. He wouldn't allow himself to bring any more pain to her life again.
"If you have something you think you need to say to her about what we did, I probably need to hear it too. It was something we chose to do together. It's not like we didn't know what we were doing."
