Summary; Watanuki volunteered to work at Risa's clothing store, so Risa is showing him around the place.
Log; For as long as he could remember, which was technically a very short time even if he preferred not to well on that fact, Watanuki liked to keep himself very busy. He did this with everyday tasks: cooking, cleaning, and even sewing from time to time. Even though those were mostly considered 'girly things,' Watanuki still put a lot of effort into them, and he enjoyed them.

After a month in the city he had managed to find two of those three jobs to do. He cooked regularly for Doumeki and Yuuko, as well as any other guests they might have, and he cleaned his apartment as well as another one once every two weeks. But so far he hadn't really started sewing again, and he wanted to do that. Luckily for him, he had seen the message about Risa looking to hire someone to her clothing store. Sure, he would probably do more selling then sewing, but he could repair some things there. Plus he wanted to start branching out and meet more people, something that was a new habit for him ever since the talk with Doumeki some time ago. What better excuse was there to meet new people then having to work with them?

It was just after lunchtime when Watanuki arrived at the store. Thankfully it had been pretty easy to find, and he had no trouble getting there. Once he arrived he stepped in and looked over the store quickly in search of Risa. He had told her that he was coming by, so hopefully she would be there waiting.

Well, a busy few days it had been. Perhaps it wasn't really though, and it was just the fact that they were down two members of staff that made it so. Yes, Risa did miss having Chidori and Miwako around, and still thought of them considerably at work. The consulation was that they were happy in their own worlds, and she had Horo still, not to mention possible new employee's.

On hearing the familiar jingle of the bell over the shop door, Risa tidied some papers away in the office before heading out of the stock room and into the front part of the shop. She entered through the far door that brought her behind the counter, her gaze catching the new arrival with friendly intrigue, recognising him from the network.

"Hey there, Watanuki right?" she smiled.

When he heard Risa's voice he looked over at her, and then he smiled. She had this 'busy' look about her, like she was trying to handle a lot of work or something. Maybe they had a lot of customers recently? That would explain why she was looking for hired help. Whatever the case, he was sure she would tell him. "That's right," he said as he walked over to her, "And you're Risa, right?"

"Yep, owner and manager of Akindo, welcome to the shop." she chimed back, extending her hand in a friendly wave, before opening up a gap in the counter to walk out and greet Watanuki.

It had been a busy few weeks, but the aspect of getting new employees, and friends, since she tended to have that with everyone working in the store, was a pleasing thought for the tall girl. She just hoped being a 5'8 amazon didn't intimidate the other.

"Well, I'm glad you could come today, you wanna look around now, or do have any questions about working here?" she asked.

Fortunately everyone was really noodly and tall in Watanuki's world, so while she was still taller then him the height difference wasn't staggering. He was surprised to see that she was taller then him, but he didn't comment on it at that time. Instead he focused on the question she asked, and he answered by saying, "why don't you show me around? I do have a couple questions, but I bet you'll answer most of them by showing me around."

It was a little warmer in here then it was outside, and Watanuki found himself getting warm in his coat. So he slipped it off as he said, "Oh, but first, is there a place I can hang this? Or should I carry it?"

She smiled a moment, listening to him, before blinking in recognition to his request.

"Ah, sure. You can hang it up in the backroom, follow me." she grinned, opening the space in the counter once more, motioning him to follow her through the back room.

All the stock and spare racks were neatly in place, divided up into different departments, like clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and such. Despite the organisation, Risa had taken time to make it look upbeat, not dull and dreary, with bright coloured walls, and designed, comfy furniture in the teabreak area. She stopped and gestured to the hooks on the wall, two of which were occupied (one with a short denium coat, the other with a large, padded snow jacket).

"Pick anyone you like. Do you want a drink or something before we get started?"

When he saw the hooks he picked one somewhere near the middle, and he hung his coat on it. So there were two people here besides himself, huh? He wondered who the third person was, but before he could ask he heard Risa's question so he said, "Oh! Well, do you have tea?"

While he had issues with eating, drinking was not much of a problem. He was willing to accept a drink, especially from a future co-worker. And while they had a drink, he could ask about the other coat. "Say, is there someone else working here today? I figured that one of the coats was yours, but there is a second one too."

Risa just nodded, smiling as she turned her back to head for the counter to turn the kettle on, and began to prepare the drinks while waiting for the water to boil. It was strange how quiet the place was, but well, Chidori and Miwako were no longer around to make any noise. At least they were happy back in their own worlds, at least she hoped so.

Once the tea was ready, she sat the mugs, along with a flask of milk and bowl of sugar, onto a small coffee table, taking a seat and motioning the other to do the same. The tall girl would have asked what he took in his tea, but was surprised by the sudden question. She glanced at the other jacket, before remembering she hadn't mentioned her other current employee.

"Oh yeah, that jacket belongs to Horohoro, he's out having his lunch break just now, but he'll be back in a little while. He's been here for a long time, he started a little while after the store opened. He's a good worker and a great friend." she explained, taking a sip of her tea.

Watanuki nodded and sipped his tea as well. Horohoro, huh? He would have to keep his eye out for this person. It was a good idea to meet everyone that he would be working with, after all. When he finished sipping his tea he set his glass down, and he said, "I'll be sure to say hi if I see him, then."

He then paused for a moment as he considered the store. Even though it was small, he didn't think that having just two workers (okay, three now including him) was enough. So, deciding to pry a little more, he said, "Are there other workers too, or is it just you and Horohoro?"

Risa nodded happily in response, chuckling a little to herself. It was more a qustion of when, not if Watanuki saw Horo.

"Well, you can't miss him, someone with spikey blue hair and
a lot of ainu clothes is hard to miss." she giggled, being careful not to mention the whole 'shaman' thing. It wasn't her place to go saying things about Horo anyway, and it would make her a bigmouth and a lousy friend if she did.

The laughing stopped though on hearing the next question. While Risa tried to act normal, there was some sadness hinted in her voice, as she stared blankly into her mug for a moment before answering.

"There...were two other people, but...they went home. Hence why I had to look for some more help." she explained.

[OOC: So you know, Horo is a shaman and has a spirit ally which follows him everywhere, so Watanuki might be able to see her, but best discuss with Rime-mun when she gets bacl from hiatus.]

Oops. Well, it was easy to tell that was a bit of a sore spot with Risa, so Watanuki just said, "Oh...I'm sorry to hear that." He decided not to go farther then that, because he didn't know Risa very well, and he had a feeling that his prying wouldn't be appreciated.

Instead, after a few seconds of silence he decided to turn the discussion to something else in hopes that it would get away from the subject of people leaving. "So...What kind of work would I be doing here?" That was an innocent enough of a question, wasn't it?

The girl shook her head, trying her best to recover from the slight lapse. There was no sense it getting sad. She was just glad to have met two great friends at all.

"No, it's okay. They're surely happy back home anyway." she replied, deciding it was best to try and distract herself with the next question.

"Well, there's a vareity of work that gets done here, so it's up to you do do what you like best, or maybe take a mix of duties. There's sorting stock, there's dealing with customers, the business and financial stuff, oh and the sowing and repairing clothes."

"Well truthfully I'm best at sorting things and repairing clothes, but I can learn how to do the other things," Watanuki admitted, "I've done that kind of work before."

For a moment his mind flashed back to the times he worked for Yuuko at the shop. He had done other duties besides that, too: he had gotten Yuuko liquor whenever she wanted it, he had cooked meals for several people, he had taken care of various tasks, and he had even helped a spirit or two. But those things probably wouldn't be relevant here. Risa didn't seem like the kind of person who would need those sort of things. Okay, maybe cooking, but that was it.

Risa listened in interest, glad for the experience Watanuki was bringing to the job. In her eyes, he seemed to be a good and honest and worker, and that would serve well in the shop. Of course he was a genuinely nice person as well, and that helped a lot while working in such close quarters.

"Sure, you can just take things at your own pace and learn as you go, there's no rush. I mean it took me a while to get the hang of everything when I started this place up." she answered, smiling warmly, taking another sip of her drink, unaware of the males other capabilities.

Watanuki nodded at that. "Alright," he said, "I'll go ahead and do that, then."

There was another question on his mind, though. Along with this, he had to cook back at the apartment too, as well as do any tasks that Yuuko demanded of him. He was sure he could do it, but a schedule would help. "What hours will I be working?"

The girl nodded, glad of his interest, listening to his next question. In her experience, her friends had worked what they liked, and the shop had always been covered for staff. It was only fair to treat Watanuki the same way. Well, everyone had some commitments after all.

"That's up to you, we're pretty flexible, so you work what best suits you. You just say what you would like to work and I'll try and see how it fits around everyone else." she smiled.

Watanuki considered this for a few moments. What hours would he like to work? Well, Yuuko liked to sleep in, so she was more likely to bother him in the afternoons. Also he would like to be home early to cook dinner, so working during the morning would be best for him. "How about mornings," he asked, "from 7 or 8 until about 3-ish?"

He hoped that those hours would be fine. He figured that most people would prefer to work afternoons and sleep in anyways, but he wasn't completely sure if that would be the case here.

Risa thought it over for a moment, finding that the idea was quite suitable. She spent the best part of the day in the shop anyway, and Horo usually stuck around till closing time, so help in the mornings would be useful...

"That sounds fine to me. I'll write it up on the rota...ah, that is if you've made the choice of really wanting to work here. We'd be happy to have you." she grinned hopefully.

That was an easy enough answer to give. He had already made up his mind about it, after all. "I'll be glad to work here. This place seems very nice." Then, smiling, he added, "I hope we can all get along." The sentiment seemed sincere, too. Watanuki didn't get too close to most people, so he hoped that his co-workers would at least find him tolerable. He...had some odd behaviors, to say the least.

Risa couldn't help grinning back. It seemed to her that Watanuki would do great in the shop, adn she doubted any problems would come up. All the people in the store were always good friend anyway, so it made working there all the better.

"Then welcome to Akindo." she smiled, offering her hand to shake.

With a smile, Watanuki took Risa's hand and shook it. "I'll do my best!"
