The inside of Circus Carnivore is brightly lit up with hundreds of floating candles settled in little upside-down umbrella holders, streamers hanging down in colourful twists. It was almost like something out of one of her dreamscapes - deliberately so. It had taken a lot of help from both Hatter and Grell to get the place decorated just so, not to mention the catering and the music. But finally everything was in place and it was all perfect, a party all for her that could rival any that her father would throw for her at home.

Now all she had to do was wait for people to arrive.

Not to be the uncouth man, Grell had arrived at the appointed time, sharp. Fashionably late was only for when you were not the mother of the hostess, after all, mm?

And so, he arrived, arms spread wide to take in the completed sight, with a devilish, sharp toothed grin as he turned about, taking in the entire compound before he smiled sweetly.

"Little Mistress, it's a lovely set up in the end~" He crooned, always could pick his sadistic little girls out.

And as requested, a finely tailored and rather femininely touched white suit, instead of crimson.

Road laughed, ever so pleased that the first to arrive was one of her favourite people. Not exactly family, but when he made himself even more useful than most of them ever did, well, how could Road not like him.

"It's so pretty~!" She said, twirling around to show off her lovely white dress before moving closer with her arms stretched out to be given a hug. It was her day and she quite thought she deserved to be fussed over.

"Wish me a happy birthday~?" Road asked him, smiling prettily. They were both well aware it wasn't really her birthday, but if she said it was, well then it was.

She loved that their clothes matched so beautifully, clapping her hands enthusiastically that he'd found himself such a perfect white suit exactly as she'd asked him to.

And spoil him he did, how could he not, with such a cute thing before him? When she reached out for a hug, he swept her up in to one- a flamboyant thing, he... she... whatever.

"And a happy birthday to you, of course~!" The shinigami smiled, not so much prettily as darkly, as he sat her down, sweeping in to a graceful bow, laced cuffs and matching white gloves.

"You look resplendent."

She giggled as he swept her up into a hug - Grell always knew exactly how she liked things to be done.

She took the bow as her due, bobbing a cute little curtsey in reply. She loved this dance of theirs, each taking their queue from the other, working together perfectly.

"Thank~ you, Grell ♥" A reply both to the well wishing and the compliment. She knew very well that she looked darling, but she'd never get tired of being told so. "Grell looks quite~ lovely too." Carefully worded in the way that she knew would please him best - it amused her, how they shamelessly flattered each other. But it worked well for the both of them.

Oh, they were shameless in that manner, alright. Grall's delicately gloved fingers moved to his face, eyelashes fluttered, and he crooned delightfully.

"Oh, thank you~ I was a bit worried, going so far away from crimson, but white is always prettiest when you know it will be painted." Allusion, to their... after party.

"Speaking of decor-" He pointed up, and smirked. "I like the candles."

Hands covered her mouth as she laughed wickedly at the thought of it. "And then we'll match again~!" A mischievous look crossed her face. The after party would be the most fun part of all.

"Ooh~, I'm glad you do~! A birthday party theme isn't complete without them, is~ it?" They looked like - and were - perfectly normal candles of course, but those who knew her well enough would be the slightest bit more wary at the sight of them. And she always did enjoy the look on people's faces when they thought they knew more than they really did.

"Of course not~!" He smirked still, gloved fingers spreading for a shrug, casual, and disarming. He had seen her powers, seen some of her potential, and knew better than to question.

"And such an auspicious birthday, too. Only the best, for the little mistress~"

"Grell helped pick the day~, so of course it is." She was indecisive enough on her own about this kind of thing, if it was up to her every day would be her birthday.

"Will you dance with me later on~?" Because of course the party wouldn't be complete without dancing, and while she was definitely saving one for a certain white haired Exorcist, there were other people she wanted to dance with too.

Lyra hadn't known quite what to get for the girl, but a large box full of candy, she decided, ought to do the job well enough, as she shifted the box's weight around in her arms as she entered.

"Hello~ Lyra~!" Road singsonged as she greeted her guest. "I'm glad you could make it!" Just the right words, of course. She'd watched her father host parties often enough to know what to say.

Lyra smiled politely.

"Road!~" she chimed back, "It's nice to see you!" Lyra decided to go along with what she knew she was supposed to say at parties like this, Pantalaimon standing by her side and nodding his head politely.

"Mmhmm~." She said, nodding her head at both of them before leading them further into the decorated space of the circus. "Come in!"

Lyra nodded, then followed the other girl in, her daemon staying close to her.

"Wow. These decorations... They're really amazing!

"Do you like them?" she asked, looking gleeful. "The umbrellas were Hatter's idea, but I did all the candles! I wanted it to look special."

Justin couldn't help but feel that the decorations adorning Circus Carnivore looked vaguely familiar, like something out of Road's head. It was eerie. Road herself, almost ghostlike in an old-looking dress, did nothing to dispel the eeriness.

Justin entered quietly and stayed to the side, observing Road and the ambiguously-gendered person fussing over her. Sutcliff? It had to be. He saw no reason to interrupt them. If he could just drop off his gift for Road--a plush tiger with a little plush human in its mouth, which had seemed oddly suitable--and sneak out...

But of course, Road wasn't about to let Justin off that easily. She noticed him almost as soon as he entered the circus, and with a last little wave to Grell she skipped over towards him, the skirts of her dress fluttering out around her.

She knew that the atmosphere wouldn't exactly be to everyone's tastes, but she couldn't care less; it was her party, and as such it would be made to match her.

Reaching Justin, she stopped in front of him, posing prettily and coyly greeting him. "Hello~ Justin. Thank you for coming."

Curse day or not, Shilo is going to go to her first birthday party ever. She holds her present carefully in front of her and not to wrinkle her black dress. This place vaguely reminds her of the Genetic Opera. Will the memories stop? Shilo shakes her head of the half-spun threads of thoughts and moves to set her gift among the others.

So much for being invisible.

"Road," he said by way of acknowledgment, holding the poorly-wrapped present out to her. "Sure. Thank you for inviting me." Niceties. Justin studied Road's face, wondering if she was carefully concealing anger behind that delicate, doll-like front.

"How has your party been?"

The Circus looked like it had been touched by magic... but of course, Drusilla hadn't expected any less. It was only right for girls to have magical, extravagant parties.

The vampire wandered in Road's general direction, admiring the artfully twisted ribbons of color hanging from the ceiling and the flickering candle flames. Drusilla couldn't remember if she had been invited to Road's party, but there were so many pretty little gifts she wanted to give the birthday girl; it wouldn't have done to stay away.

If the Mad Hatter wasn't one of the hosts, the demon would be fashionably late. Sie sat on a long table located at the arena, pouring tea and exchanging seats from the heads to the middle, to the center where a hole appeared, at a random measure of time. As the guests arrived, the jester tipped hir top hat. Sie was wearing a long black skirt and a frilly blouse tucked under a corset. Hir hair was combed slick and straight tamed by the great hat, on hir left hand, sie had an open purple umbrella.

"Welcome! Greetings and Salutations! Join this Mad Tea party to honor one's little assistant!"

It wasn't long before Watanuki arrived. He was carrying a cake, which he had made earlier that day, and it was still a little warm from being baked. It looked very nice, though, and it had 13 candles on the top. When he arrived he looked around, and he was amazed by what he saw. It was really amazing. He figured Road had spent a lot of time on the decorations. "Wow..."

With beautifully wrapped gift of albino python plushie (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21ZySa09aCL._SL500_AA280_.jpg) under his arm, Luke entered the Big Top and straight into what seemed a child's fanciful dream made true. Unlike the curse stricken City's predictable gloom fest, he knew this party - despite its obvious silly trappings - held far greater promise for an entertaining evening.

Fai wasn't far behind Watanuki. He was just as awed by the decorations, maybe even more so than Watanuki. He had never seen such a grand party before! Was this how other people celebrated their birthdays? Before he arrived here he didn't even realize people took the time to celebrate something like a birthday.

"Wow..." He mimicked the other's words without realizing it still looking around the room and admiring all of the guests outfits. They weren't as elaborate s the clothing from his homeland, but they certainly were unique.

He should have expected this. The party looked very much like the sort of thing that Road would set up, brilliant and strange, with faces both mad and confused in the throng. Tyki's mouth twitched into a faint smile, briefly pitying. At least a few guests couldn't have known what they were getting into, and that really was unlucky for them. Overall, though, it was much the sort of thing that they would have gone to at home. He hadn't missed these affairs - had counted their absences, in fact, as the one good thing about being away from the world they were meant to destroy.

Ah, well.

In his new suit, with a giftbox tucked under one arm, Tyki moved through the gathering, prepared to wander through the hours until it was over. After all, Road would never forgive him if he stole out early.

"Ooh~, is this mine? Can I open it?" Of course the words were hardly out of her mouth before she was tearing off the wrapping paper. She burst into delighted laughter at the sight of the plush toy and squished it. "I like it!"

She seemed genuinely pleased, and if she had been angry - unlikely - or scheming - far more probable - there was no sign of it on her face.

"It's been perfect so far." she replied, smiling up at him. "Come on, Justin should join in." She grabbed him by a hand to drag him further into the party.
