The sun.
The sun in this place felt fantastic. She didn't know how or why room 13 of building eight was able to house such a vast expanse of land and sea, but frankly, she couldn't give a damn at the moment. Besides, this place was too difficult to try and rationalize...she'd given up her attempts at doing so ages ago.
No. Now, as she lay spead out on a blankek, unfurling like an awakening flower, there was only one thing that seemed to be preoccupying her otherwise calmed mind.
Had she brought enough to drink?
Matsumoto Rangiku could probably drain the contents of the very sea Rukai lay next to if she wanted too, but the three bottles half-burried a few feet away in the sand would have to suffice...there wasn't time to get any more.
Time.
Where was Matsumoto anyways?

She crossed the sand quickly, wiggling her toes as she walked. It wasn't too far, since she'd already figured out where Rukia was, but she took her time. For once, she was happy to enjoy the weather.
Catching sight of the smaller woman, Ran waved and yelled, "You beat me here! No fair!"

"If I would have know it was a race, I would've let you win," she said, lazily forcing herself into a sitting position, one svelte hand rubbing the small of her back, fingertips brushing away the small grains of sand that clung to her honey-toned skin.
"Brought some Sake with me, in case you're interested," she said, nodding to the bottles buried in the sand.

She turned over on her side, hand used as an armrest for her head as she beamed a smile at the...er...well endowed shinigami next to her, "I'm...doing alright I suppose...I've met some interesting people...the most interesting of which happens to be a man named V...He mentioned you...and this city."

"V, huh? What did he say about me?"

Standing up, arms extending gracefully over her head, Rukia began walking towards the edge of the water, feet barely brushing over the undulating waves currently raking the shore, "he just asked if I knew you. He mostly answered questions I had about the city. What a conversation that turned out to be," Rukia said hollowly, in a tone quite unlike her own.
"What do you think of all this anyways?" she said, motioning to the scenery around them, hands poised poignantly on her hips.
