Summary; So much noise, so much interference. It's just Mayuri's luck that the little mouse shows it is not just a mouse, and just it's misfortune...

It is deep in the Underground that his lab is hidden, tucked away in some niche beyond the eyes of the common. It's there that he watches, and waits. But never has it been his instinct to merely wait, no matter how he may take his time, calculating.
It only takes the scurry of feet, the irritant of noise that shouldn't exist to pique his interest. To peer, with the strangest yellow eyes, into screens and into the depths of darkness. Curious enough that it does little to dissuade him, but he has always been persistent. Watching the girl, observing her abilities that she seems to readily flaunt in her battles against the beasts of the Underground. Mizu no Ryuu, Aoi Tatsumaki, and Koori no Yaiba. Water, and ice. But the source of her abilities was the curiosity (those bursts of energy only just similar to reiatsu).
He would understand, if only to end the lull of his activities within the City.
So now he stands, concealed in the dark with the assistance of his own inventions. The poison he had readied would not kill, but incapacitate; with the release of his Shikai she would be his.
But first would be the test- her skills his to observe, first hand (he noted, with some irritation, that it should have been Nemu to confront the girl first- but he had no time for her recent babbling, her attempts of anarchy). So he waited, until he began to hear the rush of footsteps against the hard floor; his teeth bared in a grin far worse than any beasts.
