Log; Ongoing
When; 24th, Evening
Rating; PG
Characters; Lelouch vi Britannia (
lel0uch ) and Setsuna F. Seiei (
denyinurgod )
Summary; Exia challenges the Deux ex Machina II, and Setsuna ends up saving the leader of the Rebellion.
Log;
The signal to attack the Deux Ex Machina with Exia arrived well into the night.
The Major's zeppelin. A distortion to the world.
Gritting his teeth, Setsuna placed a hand on the control stick and thrust it forward. Instantly, the light in Exia's GN Drive blazed even brighter: A glow of white and green against the dark, misty atmosphere as Exia ascended swiftly into the night sky. The green light trailed behind the Gundam as he headed towards the Deux ex Machina, and his frown deepened as the zeppelin came into view, a ship well beyond the size of Exia floating in the sky above the ocean.
Several dots appeared on Exia's radar system, originating from the zeppelin and approaching his direction at an accelerated speed.
Missiles.
With one quick move, Exia's GN Sword had been drawn, and the Gundam's speed picked up, charging head on toward the missiles.
He will fight. For the City and its inhabitants, he will eradicate the source of distortion, just as he did, and just as he will continue to do, in their own world. After all, it was the only reason he was still alive.
His brows drew together as the missiles honed in on him.

He dismissed the vampiric henchmen he'd Geassed hastily, when it became clear that he was near enough to find help. As useful as they could be in future, he couldn't risk allowing Setsuna, or anyone not from his world, to have doubts in his abilities of persuasion. He made sure the vampires rendered themselves unable to talk or write with their hands as a result.

The radar blinked again. Six more dots, approaching both sides of Exia in two sets of three. Still gritting his teeth, he charged forward, arm crossed so that the sword was to his left. Just as the missiles were close enough to touch him, he swung the sword all the way to his right side, the missiles exploding upon contact with his green blade and surrounding him in a gray and black cloud of dust and debris.
But only momentarily. Exia emerged swiftly out, its power source still glowing brightly, its armor without as much as a scratch on.
And for a brief moment the thought crossed his mind that this had been the Gundams' superiority over any other combat unit before the GN-X had arrived. A distortion that might as well have stemmed from them (his teeth ground against each other as he sliced through even more missiles)... were they wrong, all this time? But the thought had been forced away as soon as it had risen, for he now found himself at the tail end of the Zeppelin. The mission must continue.
He raised his sword and planted it on the roof of the zeppelin in one fell swoop, the crash from the sudden impact resonating against the surrounding area. His speed accelerated as he dragged the blade across, tearing the roof apart. He made a quick glance at the power panel.
98.77%... 99.81%... 102%...
He could activate Trans-Am, right now. The danger of triggering such a system after being repaired by someone unfamiliar with Gundams did not even cross his mind as he prepared to shift into Trans-Am mode.
But a movement coming from inside the zeppelin stopped him abruptly.
If it had been a ghoul, or one of the Major's non-human minions, he would not have ceased the attack, but this one was different. Tony Stark had given the clearance to attack, so the prisoners must have had escaped... Still, it was possible that one had been left behind in the commotion. He activated Exia's external camera to take a closer look.
His eyes widened as he zoomed in on the person.
"Lelouch vi Britannia!"
And without a second thought, Exia tore through the roof and swooped Lelouch off the ground with its free hand.

He exhaled and shivered slightly, but through the pain, he kept a calm poker face. He looked upwards to where the cockpit should be. Discussions-- they would follow afterward. What should he say? He pondered his options.

He switched on his audio communicator. "Hold on tightly."
With that, he cut through the floor of the Zeppelin, debris flying on all sides, a thundering sound surrounding them.
He glanced around; if he calculated right, the engine nacelles would be a few feet behind. As he sped towards the location, several more missiles started charging toward him. He activated rifle mode and targeted them, successfully shooting down the majority approaching. An irritated sound escaped him as he he switched back to GN Sword. He swung it at the remaining, cutting through them, making sure that no debris hit the person on his other hand.
When he reached the engines' location, he thrust his sword upward and dragged it across. Explosion after explosion vibrated across the ship, clouds of fire, dust, and metal forming, a loud, thundering sound resonating across the sky.
The blasts of fuel and fire continued as he increased speed away from the zeppelin; the green trail of particles left by Exia, a streak of light that lingered for a few seconds in the atmosphere before fading away, appeared almost out-of-place in the midst of black clouds and red and orange flames.
A final, deafening explosion roared across the area, before the zeppelin started descending head-first into the ocean below. He turned around just in time to see the large splash as the zeppelin came in contact with the water's surface.
He watched for a few seconds, a sense of accomplishment washing over him temporarily before it was replaced with something else... Uncertainty? Anxiety? Doubt? He didn't know why he felt so troubled; they had won the fight, hadn't they?
Was our fight really—
He pushed his thoughts away and glanced at Lelouch, observing the bleeding in his arm.
"Are you alright?"
