Summary; Even if you prefer working alone, sometimes the price of failure is too high and you have to rely on others. Vampires are the easy ones...but Zero's bullets don't work on zombies. He can't do this alone.
Log;
The call had come as a surprise and an enormous relief. Apparently there was a rescue organized to retrieve the victims from the Major's ship. Somehow his name and a small amount of personal information had been released to Tony Stark, which had caused the man to contact Zero. The information given hadn't been much, but enough to show him that Zero had extremely personal reasons for wanting in on this attack and rescue mission. Not only that, but his involvement would be an asset as Zero was experienced and trained in removing one of the bigger threats within the zeppelin.
He only had one goal, as much as he wanted to seek revenge against the Major, Yuuki was his priority. The fear he'd seen within her when her face had been flashed across the network had terrified him. Yuuki wasn't weak. She was one of the strongest people he knew, able to keep him afloat when his world shouldn't even exist anymore. Unable to do anything but sit and watch when he knew Yuuki was terrified by what was happening to her.
He'd planned on going after her alone, not used to having anyone by his side when he worked other than the girl he needed to free from some madman's clutches. Someone had found him on the transport though. He barely knew the kid but he'd chatted his ear off about Yuuki, which strangely he sort of reminded Zero of Yuuki. Maybe it was the way he continued to talk even when he didn't get a response from Zero.
Though strangely, every time Zero found himself in a bind--the kid was there to bail him out. The girl with him was talented too. After several times of this, a strange rhythm had fallen into place where they were working together without even really trying.
The girls name was a mystery to him, but the guy...he'd heard spoken of several times before. He'd even talked with him a couple of times on the network in regards to Yuuki.
He knew the kid by name only~he was a friend of Yuuki.

And the fact that he had came alone must've meant something as well.
The blonde made a quick note of Zero's chakra while in Sage Mode and on the transport. Even if he couldn't mold it like a shinobi could, he still had it just like any other living thing, and it would help Naruto track him in case he might need to find him.
Several times, he did just that. Naruto made sure to keep his team near Zero's position just so he could keep an eye on him and help him find Yuuki. He broke away from his friends several times to find Zero overwhelmed by the zombies, and he helped finish them off so Zero could move on deeper into the Major's zeppelin --almost like he knew exactly where Yuuki was or had some way of finding her. Naruto himself would find Sakura close by before rejoining his other friends.
The vampire soldiers that Naruto's group kept running into were no pushovers even for the trained team. He found himself envying the strange weapon Zero carried which seemed to dispatch the foul creatures with ease while Naruto usually had to decapitate them or destroy their body completely. One clone had already been summoned to replenish his Sage Mode, and he was getting close to having to summon the other.
But for Zero, Yuuki's, and everyone else's sake, he pushed his body to its limits and threw himself into each new fight, finding himself with Zero once more.

The hallway he'd started traveling down came to a T and Zero was forced to separate from those that had been protecting him. There were more of the creatures between where he stood and where Yuuki was being held, but his focus was mostly on finding her. He knew he was perfectly capable of destroying the creatures on his own and it would probably act as a little stress relief if he did utilize his hands in combat, but he preferred Bloody Rose.
The fear of enjoying the slaughter he'd create would only make him feel like one of them.
Taking several steps in Yuuki's direction, a burst of color exploded in front of him as he was momentarily deafened by the noise. Holding himself at attention as the ground shook slightly beneath him, Zero felt a sense of panic as his vision filled with dust, choking his lungs as he tried to breathe. Debris pounded into his shoulder as the pathway in front of him was completely obscured from view. All he could see was the remains of the wall, blocking his way.
Reaching forward, he ignored the stinging of the wound on his shoulder and tugged at one of the wooden rods, partially buried beneath the debris. Determined to dig his way through the mess to find Yuuki, Zero finally dislodged the lumber and moved it out of the way. "This is a waste of time," he growled, the scent of Yuuki's blood slowly returning and mixing with the scent of his own as the dust settled around him.
