[so after the whole fiasco over the network, Watanuki is waiting at home for Fai to show up. They have some talking to do.]

[In all honestly, Fai was hardly looking forward to returning back home. Why had he said those things? If he did they had to have been true, but...

Opening the door, he gives a small 'I'm home.' and steps inside quietly.]

Yo. [Doumeki moved towards him, holding out a hand for his] C'mon.

[and Watanuki was waiting in the living room in the chair, and he indicated to the couch.]

Sit down.

... [He looked away in regret. He wanted to be alone and think, but considering that's only ever given him a headache in the past he took Doumeki's hand and follows him the couch.

Tentatively, he looked up at Watanuki.]

[he gently closed his fingers around Fai's, reassuring, sitting on the other side of Watanuki with Fai in between them. However, before much was said after that, he reached out and attempted to flick Watanuki's forehead.]

Oi. Stop making such a face.

[he's not the master of dodging, so he is easily flicked. That sets off his anger, though, and he jumps up out of the chair and shakes his fist at Doumeki.]

I'll make whatever face I want! This is serious!

[He tensed when Watanuki jumped, but it was to be expected. Bringing his fist to his mouth he bit on it, an attempt to not speak. If anything he was determined to be completely silent for the rest of the day.]

[ignoring you in favor of Fai, Watanuki.]

Oi. [he reaches out to gently pull Fai's fist out of his mouth] We have to talk about this. I know you don't want to, but it's important.

[oh yes, that's right. Family talk tiems. He recomposes himself before talking to Fai, and he's trying to look calm but concerned.]

Now Fai, I know you meant well by talking to Road like that. But you see, Road is...different. Saying things like that to her won't end well.

[He didn't look at either of them.] I know it wouldn't have. I don't care if she-

[Stops.] ...She hurts... [It's obvious it's becoming painful not to talk, but he doesn't stop trying. Quickly, he shook his head.] No! Don't make me talk, please!

Fai. What we're concerned about is you getting hurt. [his voice is meant to be soothing.] I know that you would do anything to protect your brother. But what we need you to remember is that you're not alone in this. We want to protect Yuui and you.

Doumeki's right. Road is dangerous, and she hurts people. That's why we have to be extra-cautious when talking with her, and especially try not to make her mad. [he pauses] Or too interested in you, I suppose.

No! I don't care! I don't care about what happens- ...what happens...to me... [He gritted his teeth. Maybe it was pointless to try and keep it all in...]

We do. We care what happens to you.

[a pause, his hand resting on Fai's upper back]

I understand that your brother is the one person you'll do anything for. [he does understand. Because the one person he'll do anything for is standing right in front of them] However, what we're asking you to remember before you make any decisions about yourself or Yuui, is that you have many people around you that care about you, and want you to be safe. But we can't be certain you will be safe if you're so ready to give your life away.

This is not your home world, Fai. You're not alone here--there are other choices. Ones that will keep both you and Yuui from harm.

[nods in agreement with what Doumeki is saying]

As long as you're here, we can find other options. So before you do something like this again, you should stop and think 'would the people who care about me be upset about this?'

[He was trembling, staring down at the ground.] I-...didn't mean to...I had to know what she was going to do and things just...went out of control... [He wanted to believe that what he said wasn't true and that it certainly wasn't an offer but

...he didn't know anymore.] I'm sorry...

[he could feel Fai trembling, and gently rubbed a hand over his back] Road is scary, and in a situation where she was threatening someone important to you, it's hard to stay in control. But to let her scare you is to give her power over you--and it's power which you choose to give her. Power that you don't have to give her.

Furthermore, Road only bothers people who seem 'interesting' to her. If you're uninteresting, she'll leave you alone. And the best way to seem uninteresting is to not draw her attention.

[But that was IT- he wasn't scared of Road; he was scared of what she could do to the people he loved, most importantly Yuui.

Yuui...] ... [He said nothing to either of them, lost in his own thoughts.]

[smiles a little. He's trying to be encouraging here.]

I know, you were trying to protect people you care about. And that's good of you, really. But for now there's other ways to deal with dangerous people like that.
