Log; Ongoing
When; Friday 15th May, early evening
Rating; G, Suitable for all
Characters; Tsubaki (
mytechskeeper ) and Huey (
child_radical )
Summary; Wanting to catch up on her chores, Tsubaki keeps busy for the day with cooking, and fulfilling her promise to Huey of a meal in return for his kindness.
Log;
It had been a busy day, there was no doubt of that. Tsubaki had been rushed off her feet since she had got up that morning. Where the energy was coming from she was unsure, but she had no time to dwell on the thought. There was far too much to do after all.
Breathing a deep sigh, she wiped her brow as she continued to stir the stock that was bubbling in a large pot over the stove, occassionally adding a pinch of some spice carefully. She took a small sip from the ladle just to make sure it wasn't too strong, but found it to be just right. If her guest wanted it spicier, she could fix that at his request. If she made it overpowering and he didn't like it, well, it would all go to waste.
The girl glanced over her shoulder a moment at the other ingredient littering the counter, noting which she would have to put away, finally putting the lid back on the pot and busying herself in cleaning things up. Thankfully she had taken a lot of time to prepare so she wasn't caught short. Chrono had already picked up the dishes he was going to serve Mary, so all Tsubaki had to worry over was that the boy who she was returning the favour to would arrive before the food got cold.
Still, it was unlikely that would be a problem, as they did live in the same building. All she had to do now was wait...

It didn’t take him long to reach the domicile where he would be eating his evening meal at. He patted down his shirt before he knocked on the door.

Tsubaki had to fan herself a moment, the heat in the kitchen having caused her to flush a bit. Still, she didn't look too worse for wear as she straightened her apron and unlocked the door.
"Hello Huey, do come in." she smiled warmly, gesturing him in as she left the entrance to the apartment wide enough for him to walk past her and into the hall.

It was quite pleasing and it served to make him a slight bit impatient. Though he quelled that budding emotional state quickly, after all he had a reputation of not being overtly bratty to uphold.
"The food smells like it will taste good, Tsubaki."

"Thank you, I hope I don't disappoint you." she smilled, leading him on to where the table had been set up nicely, cutlery and plates clean and bright. Waiting patiently till he was seated, the girl headed back to the kitchen to start serving the dinner.
"What would you like to drink?" she called in question before she disappeared from sight..

While he waited, the boy couldn't help but be reminded of the Sunday dinner tradition his grandfather had started after watching 'Soul Food'. At that thought he could help but smile a bit at the memory of his family and friends after they all finished eating a meal of Indian curry. Despite the annoyance and frustration they delievered onto him constantly, he missed them.

"Here you are. Not let me just get your plate." she smiled, picking up the dish and moving over a bit to the stove. Steadying her hands, she added the stock mix to the boiling pot of pasta that was sitting next to ot, stirring them togehter before ladling a good sized portion on the plate, placing it in front of Huey.
"If you want it spicier I can add chilli powder if needed." she gestured to the shaker sitting on the table.
