Log; ongoing
When; Monday 25th May
Rating; PG
Characters; Tony Foster (
Summary; Chuck is furious and Tony tries to do some damage control.
Log; Tony walked up the road to Chuck's place, rehearsing in his head various explanations and excuses he could use to soothe him. Not that any of them had seemed to work on Henry and Eden, but Tony thought maybe the third time was the charm?
Yes, he was sorry that people worried. No, he hadn't thought about the consequences of using the spell before he did it. No, he wouldn't do it again (because being invisible to everything and everyone had sucked hard and Tony wondered why Arra even had the stupid spell in the manual if she wasn't going to bother putting a counter-spell or release in with it.
Really, it wasn't his fault!

Who wasn't even missing.
True, killing the man would be counter-productive. He did enjoy being friends with Tony. When the other man wasn't behaving like an idiot that he so clearly was. Even the overprotective teenage girl clingy act was better...
Chuck tighten his grip on the glass, it was a miracle the glass didn't crack.

He showed up and knocked tentively at the door, looking pale and winded from jogging over here.
"Chuck? It's me, let me in."
no subject
He was better than that. He forced himself to lower the hand and unclench the fingers.
"I'm tempted to leave you here and let you starve," he said gravely and moved to the side, letting Tony in.
no subject
"Yeah but then you'd have a body on your front door and people would talk," he replied as he moved into the apartment and sank gratefully into a chair.
Keeping the Notice-Me-Not going for two days, even unwillingly, had taken more out of him than he thought.

"At least then, the Police would know you were found," he said while he closed the door.
"Did I mentioned that?" he asked coldly while he crossed the room. "I had almost the entire Police force in the City looking for you. All my contacts and resources! Thank God, this isn't the Upper East Side and I didn't wasted my funds for this!" He raised his voice. He'd say it was because he moved to the kitchen and not because it made him feel better to yell at the idiot.
no subject
"But I told you not to worry and that I was fine!" he protested. And then his lips twisted ruefully. "Which you couldn't hear because of the spell, but I tried. I didn't know it wouldn't wear off."

He turned and poured himself a healthy glass of scotch.

He had to stop pouting in order to scarf down the pizza though. It seemed like the slices took only two bites to get through. The entire half a pizza was gone in five minutes. Possibly anyone except a wizard would have choked.
"I'd never done that spell before."
no subject
Idiot. Why was Chuck friends with him? There had to be a reason why he put up with all this. He took a deep breath and another sip of scotch. He could deal with it wthout violence. And if that approach wouldn't work, he'd find people willing to risk a wrath of a vampire. Faith, maybe.

"I know, it was stupid. I'm sorry."
no subject
That idea made Chuck feel slightly better. He was able to take another deep breath to calm himself.
no subject
"I wasn't the one that sent them on a wild goose chase."
no subject
He raised his glass in a silent toast and drank the rest of the scotch.
no subject
"I'm sorry you were worried," he said, softer this time. "It scared the shit out of me too, honestly. I won't do it again."
no subject
"Sit down before you fall over," he told the other man and moved away. There was no way he would be admitting he was worried. He wasn't. And even if he was... This was the closer Tony would ever get to hearing the words. "Or move to the kitchen before your stomach eats you from the inside."
no subject
He couldn't really muster up the energy to feel embarassed about the noises it was making. That pizza had helped though.

He opened the fridge and moved away, so Tony could look inside.
"Blair had me taste test the food for the opening. You can have everything that's left," Chuck doubted that Tony would appreciate the salmon and the most delicate cheese. Tiny little sandwiches weren't something that would probably fed the wizard. Though the sheer amount of them, could help. "And whatever else you might find," he said and walked to the coffee maker. Coffee sounded like a good addition to the food.

Sandwiches and cheeses and little crackers with something he couldn't identify but was probably very expensive were quickly packed away as Tony tucked in.
"Congrats on the opening," Tony said between bites. "Do I get an invite?"
no subject
"It would be too much trouble to take you off the guest list," he shrugged casually.
no subject
Which was good, because he'd never really had a lot of them over the years. Not ones who would send the entire police force out to look for him if he disappeared, anyway.
no subject
"You're still telling the Police you're found," he pointed out. Just to take his mind of things.
no subject
Tony nodded, still smiling broadly. "I'll tell them, promise."
And then he would run very fast. Grumpy policemen were not his friends
unless they were Celluci and even then it was debatable.no subject
Chuck rolled his eyes and threw a dishcloth at Tony, aiming for his face. "You're leaving food all over your face."
no subject
"Thanks, almost missed out." Hey, every little crumb helped.

He felt and looked a lot better now, at least? Not so pale and likely to fall over.
no subject
"You always have an apetite like that after stupid spells?"
no subject
"I've never done such a stupid spell before."
Hey, he could admit it.
no subject
"I think somebody should keep an eye on you for the time being. To make sure you don't use any more brilliant spells you've never used before."
no subject
"I won't do anymore Notice-Me-Nots, I promise."
no subject
"You okay?" He asked carefully. Tony might've looked less pale and ready to fall over and die, but he still didn't look good. And if the yawn was any indication, the other man wasn't feeling up to his usual standards.
no subject
"Little tired."

Unlike Tony, he did not have any teenage girl tendencies. The man wanted to sleep on the not so comfortable couch, it was his choice. Chuck would show him what a great friend he is by not strangling him in his sleep, and actually allowing him to sleep. As opposed to waking him up and throwing him out. Which he deserved.
Chuck rolled his eyes and left Tony in the living room.
