Log: Ongoing

When; Tuesday, June 9th, late at night
Rating; Probably no higher than PG? This is a fairy tale, after all.
Characters; Princess Rue ([livejournal.com profile] princess_crow), Prince Fakir ([livejournal.com profile] sword_and_quill), Princess Ahiru ([livejournal.com profile] quackingly), Puppetmaster Prince Cain ([livejournal.com profile] misterblackbird), and Princess Rosella ([livejournal.com profile] primrosella) for now; possibly others later?
Summary; A wicked prince casts an enchantment on a few lovely princesses, compelling them to come and dance with him and his compatriots every night. Many, many shoes are worn to pieces in the process.
Log;

Every night, the girls were locked into their bedrooms, and every night a guard stood sentry outside the door. But every morning, their dancing shoes were found to be worn full of holes; one might have thought that the princesses had danced all night in them. When they were questioned, they claimed that they knew nothing, and understood nothing, about it. No one could explain this strange occurrence for, notwithstanding the greatest watchfulness, not the least noise had ever been heard in the chambers of the princesses, after they had retired to rest.

The magic took hold late that night, after all the other trials and tribulations of the day were past and the girls were tucked safely away in their beds--a strange, insistent sort of tugging that made it impossible to sleep through and impossible to resist. It flickered through their dreams in flashes of color and snippets of song; Get up, it urged. Come, now, and dance the night away.

Powerless to resist, the enchanted princesses heeded the call; one by one, they rose from their beds and dressed themselves for a magnificent ball. They donned their loveliest dresses and their finest dancing shoes, and bedecked themselves in sparkling jewels and flowing ribbons.

Hurry along, whispered the magic. We're waiting.

And when they were finally ready, they followed the call--down, down, through the secret passages beneath their beds, down the underground tunnels to the usual meeting place. Each tunnel ended in an iron door with a strong bolt, and when each princess opened her door, she found herself in an enchanted bower, where the leaves of the trees were in silver, and sparkled in the moonlight.

One by one, they made their way to the underground forest of silver trees, and when they had all arrived, they greeted each other and readied themselves to proceed.

The princes were waiting, after all.

[OOC: Twelve Dancing Princesses is go! The girls are starting en route to the boats where the princes are waiting, so maybe one thread for the girls to start with, and then break off into individual threads once they run into their princes? Backdating will also probably be a necessity. And awaaaaaaay we go!]
