Log; Ongoing

When; Evening of June 29th
Rating; PG-13
Characters; Open to all!
Summary; It's a bonfire at the beach, come enjoy yourselves!
Log; Sam needed something like this, something to get his mind off of the crap he had to deal with back home and the fact that Mikaela wasn't here. Also, off of the crazy alien symbols in his head.

The wood was all stacked up and to refuel the fire that was already going (and burning green, thanks to whatever amazing stuff Anthony had put in it) and the two couches he had snagged were placed around the fire to sit on for now and to burn later. A few old logs had also been commandeered for seating and probably eventual burning. A couple of tables had been snagged also to put all the stuff for smores as well as the roasting sticks. Or the stick-thingies, if you were Tony. Paper cups and plates were also there as well. Theoretically, just about everything that was here could be burned. Doing dishes with fire was awesome.

Everything that Sam hadn't managed, Chuck had taken care of. The man definitely seemed to know how to plan a party. All that was left now was for people to start arriving.

Chuck never attended a bonfire before, but he figured that since he isn't allowed to drink yet (damn the Irish Hellhound, pardon me Eden), he shouldn't torment himself by showing up at Victrola. And a big party with additional extertainment was always something worth his time.

And since Tony agreed to make it a bigger event, Chuck was expecting quite a crowd, since a lot of people expressed their interest. The couch burning was apparently the key to a successful party if there wasn't free beer offered.

Chuck sat on one of the couches, since he fully deserved the space. Not only he was behind the entire event, but he was recovering from the damn flu as well. He wondered briefly if Blair and Serena were going to show up, but he quickly distracted himself from that trail of thoughts.

This was his first party in a week that he's been sick. He wanted to make the most of it.

Anthony wasn;'t exactly a party person. He didn't like crowds and he didn't like talking to strangers. Sure, talking to people he didn't know over the Network was still talking to strangers, but for some reason it was easier. Anonymous over the Internet, he supposed.

But the couch burning... That got him excited. One thing led to another and before he knew, he promised Sam to make the flames green. Wasn't the most mature thing in the world, but hell, right there and then, he didn't really care. Plus, maybe it would do him good to actually meet people in the City.

And he promised Thomas to videotape the couch. The thought got him smiling again. Yeah, it's going to be awesome.

Remy loved a good party, especially in a new place. It gave you the opportunity to meet the locals, get to know the general vibe of a place...not to mention, gave you a great idea of who held the dosh. People might call Remy leBeau many things, but a passer of opportunities wasn't one of them.

Not to mention, bonfires brought back memories of late night parties on the beach way back when...when life had been simpler and his deepest worry was how to impress the girl from 7th period English. Not that that had ever been a problem.

There weren't too many people there yet, but he walked up to the modest crowd with his usually confidant, self-assured stride. He didn't think he'd met any of these folks, except, of course, Sam, but he planned on meeting a lot of people tonight, before Anna showed up, of course.

burn baby burn XD

As promised, Anthony was walking around taking pictures. The bonfire, the still untouched couch. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad, he thought to himself.

And the moment he thought that, he bumped into somebody. So much for conflict free night, good job Anthony. Jinxing yourself like that...

"Oh shit, I'm sorry man. I wasn't looking..." he appologized, looking up from the camera.

Remy put a steadying hand on the younger man's shoulder.

"You alright, homme." He looked around. "You a journalist or somet'ing?"

"What?" Anthony asked with a frown. "No, no. I'm taking pictures for a friend. He couldn't make it tonight..."

Homme? He knew somebody who talked like that...

"Remy?"

Remy looked him over again. Nope. He didn't know the guy, at least not from a face to face conversation.

"Oui, mon ami. You got de name right. We met?"

This? This was the part that Anthony hated. He felt like an idiot, assuming the guy would recognize him, like he recognized Remy...

"Uhm, yeah. We've talked on the Network. I'm Anthony," he extended him hand. "I'll be building you a bike?" He tried, hoping this was enough of introduction.

He looked the man in the eyes and blinked.

And blinked again. But Remy's eyes remained... the way they were.

Erm...

Remy smiled. He remembered talking to the kid.

"Oh, Oui, mon ami. I remember you." He took Anthony's hand in a friendly shake. "You hear for de..." he trailed off, waiting for Anthony to take in his eyes. He was used to it by now.

Anthony blinked once again, but nothing intelligent came to him. So he grabbed the first innocent subject available.

"I'm here for... well the couch burning mostly. I promised Sam to make it burn green, so, you know," he grinned silly for a second. "Uhm," yeah, he was staring again. God, was he retarded?

Remy had to admit...making the fire green? Pretty neat trick.

He smiled, though, at Anthony's fumbling. "Non, homme, dey not contacts."

Anthony's eyes widened. He was staring, and it was onbvious he was tsaring. He wanted to headslap himself. Idiot.

"Sorry," he appologized quickly. "But they look pretty cool. Didn't mean to stare."

Remy's smile turned into a smirk. He was a sucker for compliment.

"T'anks, mon ami, even if you don' mean dat." He chuckled.

"Turnin' de fire green, eh? Neat trick."

He couldn't help himself and he smiled back at the man. Thankful for the escape topic.

"Thanks. It's not that difficult, really. You just rig the couch with some copper wires, and add some acid to the accelerator. And boom, its all burning green. It would be more fun to make it burn several diffenrent colors, but I don't have enough materials to pull that off," he said, relaxing more.

Topics he was confident about and comfortable discussing. They made him look less like a social outcast. Thank God for small mercies.

Bring your own guilty pleasures, Chuck had said. That was easy to figure out, easier than deciding what would constitute as her 200 calories for the day, even. There was food as her guilty pleasure, but not eating it, just arranging it. There was dancing dancing dancing. There was playing hide and seek. There was sex of course, but she doesn't do everyone like she used to anymore.

And then there was acid.

Cassie tottered down to the beach with a plastic bag of LSD tabs in hand, already high on the hallucinogenic. She had to first make sure it was good quality, after all, no point sharing it if it was bad. The ground beneath her felt like it was trying to throw her away into space, so she can float away. The sea sounded thunderous in her ears. It felt nice, she did not feel hungry.

"Oh wow." The bonfire was green, or maybe it was all in her head.

Activity on the beach, that was bound to catch Jack's attention and as night began to fall he headed down to investigate.

It was looking to be a bit of the 'younger' crowd so the Captain was hanging back for the most part and being amused.

Rogue had worked that night and was still in her uniform of leather pans and black shirt, all black save for her white gloves. She was coming a bit late and making her way to find Remy when she passed by a guy who she couldn't help but think looked slightly uncomfortable. She stopped in front of him and looked at the fire.

"Nevah seen a green fire," she said smiling. "Ah'm wonderin' how someone did that."

are you talking to me?

[identity profile] coffeenspeed.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
At first, Anthony wasn't sure if the girl, woman really, was talking to him. Just to make sure, and look even more like an idiot, he looked around. NO, there was nobody else close enough to make for a conversation buddy for her.

He shrugged. "I suppose they mixed copper with acid and accelerator and then set everything on fire," he said with a small smirk, because that's exactly how he did it.

OMG HAI

[identity profile] coffeenspeed.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Anthony could help himself to look around from time to time. Mostly because he just wanted to set the thing on fire and step back to enjoy everything from a distance. So when he saw Captain Harkness, he smiled to himself, happy to see a familiar face in the crowd.

He made his way to the man, looking back just once to make sure the materials for the fire where safe and undisturbed.

"Captain! I had no idea it'd be your kind of... thing," good start, he thought to himself, and then what happened? Kind of... thing. Social events were clearly affecting his ability to communicate...

[identity profile] miss-waldorf.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
So Blair Waldorf was at a bonfire party hosted by someone whose name has never even once occurred in any social diary. And she heard they were going to burn couches, and use plastic cups and plates, then burn those too. How middle-class, she thought, but it wasn't like she didn't expect it. Her reason for being here was to see Chuck, he was finally better now, and he was her best friend's stepbrother after all. She had decided to come, so here she was.

Still this was Blair we are talking about, looking out of place all dressed up in her Miu Miu (http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q231/ephemericon/miumiu-1.jpg) ensemble, she was sulking because she could. Then finally, she spotted Chuck lounging on one of the couches. She made her way to him as gracefully as she could, trudging barefoot on the sand, then dropped her heels on the couch beside him.

"I saw someone running around in boxers." She scowled.

[identity profile] basstardchuck.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
He took in Blair's outfit, fully aware how overdressed she was for this occasion. But that didn't change the fact that she looked amazing. As usual.

He raised his glass, full of completely unspiked orange juice, as a welcome.

"We are on a beach, Blair. It's been known to happen," he pointed out pleasantly. "You look amazing," he told her with a smile and motioned towards the other side of the couch, hoping she would join him.

HAI THERE YOU!

[identity profile] handsomejack.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Hearing Anthony's familiar voice, Jack turned towards the younger man and smiled brightly.

"Good evening, Anthony."

Jack had actually come down in his form of 'casual', which basically meant, no coat and no shoes.

"I actually live just up the way," he motioned with his hand. "So the activity caught my eye. Begining to think this might be a younger crowd than I'm used to, however. How are you doing?"

Kids with candy, this way.

[identity profile] coffeenspeed.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
He rubbed his neck, excited smile slowly taking over. "I'll be setting one of the couches on fire," he said trying to contain the excitement. "I'm strangely okay with that." Mostly because his brain still had a hard time moving on from the so awesome to let's be reasonable, Anthony.

Blair stared at his raised glass, not quite believing that it's unspiked. But then again Chuck was full of surprises, not that she would admit it to anyone.

She accepted his compliment without a response. It was just a throwaway line, the same way old relatives greet you without really meaning the words. Or he could really mean it, and still it would not mean much. She knew she looked amazing, she always did. At his gesture, she crinkled up her nose. The couch looked old and flea-ridden. She could probably contract tetanus from it. But this was Chuck.

Stomping her way over, she flopped herself beside him without care. "When will the couch burning start?"

Ianto would thump him!

[identity profile] handsomejack.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Blink.

"A couch?" Jack asked, looking curious. "Has it done something to warrent burning?"
