Log; Ongoing
When; Tuesday, July 7th, morning
Rating; PG-13
Characters; Blair
miss_waldor and Arthur
thefutureking
Summary; Blair helps Arthur shop for a white suit for Serena's party.
Log; Arthur could honestly say that until recently, he had never imagined that he would spend anymore time in person with Blair, let alone be looking forward to it. It had helped that she was finally honest with him and had admitted her mistake. Arthur knew how big of a deal that was for her. And she was trying so hard that Arthur couldn't help but give her a chance.
Besides, talking to her again had been nice. It had been different too, she felt more relaxed and like she was being herself and he had to admit that Arthur liked it when Blair was herself. So while he waited for her outside her apartment he thought about how odd it was to be in this position, but definitely not in a bad way.

It was funny how easy it was to dress for a shopping trip with Arthur. There was no more pressure to impress, to cover or expose, to only wear the current season's fashion because Grace Kelly would never have compromised on that and look who she landed. In fact, after reorganizing her closet last night, she found a dress she bought last year and never worn. The chocolate and orange button-down dress with matching orange shoes, Marc by Marc Jacobs (http://www.style.com/slideshows/fashionshows/S2008RTW/MARC/RUNWAY/00590m.jpg). Yum.
For all that she had been telling people, not everything was right yet in her world. Things keep breaking apart and bridges tend to crumble, but she knew that sometimes one ought to bring it all down before one could build anew. If Blair were feeling less than happy, then she didn't show it, walking quickly out of her apartment with a bright smile. This was going to be a good day. She willed it to be.
"Hi!"

"You look good," he said. Part of him wanted to step towards her and hug her or take her and or offer her his arm out of habit. How was he supposed to handle this? It was a lot easier when the girl he had been interested left the kingdom.
"And thank you for helping me find something," he said. "You know I'm rubbish with this sort of thing."

She made a gesture of checking her watch, even if she intentionally did not plan anything in her agenda aside from this. Shopping could get so unpredictable, but she would never settle for second-best, even when picking out an outfit for someone else. If anyone were going to go walking around claiming that Blair Waldorf styled them, then they better look smashing. Which, by the way, Arthur was guaranteed to.
"You're welcome," she said, resisting the urge to fix his hair. "First order of business~ the shoe store!"

"The shoe store?" Arthur asked with a puzzled look. "I've got shoes, or I can just go barefoot. Look, I don't even need a shirt."
He indicated the white, button up shirt he was wearing now. Sleeves rolled up and grey slacks, he had dressed more "modern" today. Not that that was significant, of course.

She gestured for him to keep following, quietly noting that he was dressed normally, as if she still had any right to fret about his medieval tunics anymore. She made no mention of it, keeping her eyes open for that small men's boutique she found awhile ago. Not that she would tell him, but Blair had spent some time scouting the shops for him. Nate was all cashmere sweaters and Brooks Brothers, shopping for him was just boring. Arthur was more compliant, shopping-wise.
There were that pair of white sandals by Hugo Boss that were simply perfection personified.

He gave a resigned sigh. "Whatever you say, Blair. I promise I'll wear exactly what you pick out for me to the party and I promise to not even complain about it."

She walked into the store, greeting the shopkeeper with a smile. It seemed as if they were sharing a secret that no one else was in on. Which they probably was. "You'll love this one." Blair gestured for Arthur to take a seat on one of the plush couches as the shopkeeper went inside the storage room to fetch something. Then, a thought occurred to her. "But if you don't then you should say so."

"Do I get to object on that grounds that they're not comfortable?" he asked. That was usually his concern when it came to footwear.
