Log;

Perhaps it was a testament to Robin's mindset at the moment due to the curse, a testament to his callousness, that he saw fit to leave a broken, bloodied and badly burned Promise-- someone who, under different circumstances, he would consider a trustworthy friend --alone in a room, strapped to a chair and wondering when Robin would return to possibly finish the job.

Worse yet that he'd left her simply to find his way to liquor store. Under normal circumstances, drinking for Robin was a social event, one he enjoyed and enjoyed often. Drunk people liked to talk, and they believed any line of bullshit you fed them. This Robin, under a different influence, doesn't head toward a bar. He doesn't want a conversation, simply an audience, and he suspects he can find one of those easily if need be. He drinks without a glass, straight from the bottle, clearly with the goal in mind of dulling the rest of the world, or dulling his irritation at it.

Under normal circumstances, he also wouldn't return to the scene of a crime, even to gloat. But his self-conceit is overwhelming, and the one person who would come looking for him is, at the moment, the one person he most wants as his audience, as Robin heads back to the building he'd left Promise in hours before.

Once the sun sets, Niko ushers Promise to the hospital, fearful that the damage Robin had done was more extensive than a layman could treat. He leaves as soon as he is certain she's resting as comfortably as possible.

Promise doesn't want Niko to seek out Robin. Niko doesn't want to leave Robin free to hurt anyone else. The elder Leandros knows he has to husband his strength--Hobgoblin overcame him easily the year before, and Robin is almost as lethal--so he bypasses searching for the puck in favor of waiting.

Niko returns to the apartment where Robin held Promise, and he sits. Dried blood gives the chair a dark, cracked finish. Chains are coiled at Niko's feet. He lifts the sword he pulled free of Promise's body, and rests its tip against the floor, the pommel cupped lightly between the palms of the hands he folds over top of it. The weapon and the chains are things Niko hopes he won't need, but is prepared to use against Robin should it become necessary.

"I worked hard for this sword. I think I'll hold on to it for the time being."

Niko remains without expression, his hands light but an instant away from wrapping around the grip of the sword to bring the blade to bear.

Despite the summer heat, Niko wears a short leather jacket, home to the favorites of his sharp-edged family. More knives are certain to be concealed beneath the black denim of his jeans, and his boots are a pair he wears for hunting as well, but the usual dark shirt is absent. The scars Hobgoblin gave him are faintly visible beneath the thin white cotton of his undershirt, the tee-shirt he had been wearing long since consigned to the scrap bin after having been used as a bandage.

He goes for none of the weapons on his person, merely twirls the sword so its point scores a tiny hole in the floor at his feet.

"Your behavior can't continue, Robin."
