log; ongoing
When; Sunday, August 23th at 7pm, Angelo Amore
Rating; PG-13? Somebody'll be cursing, I guess.
Characters; All City General Employees and their guests
Summary; Free food, open bar, hot coworkers. Who doesn't want to work here?
Log;
Tables are set, the drinks are flowing, the music's turned up, and Angela's happy. Of course, she's happy with any decent party, but this one is her baby. With a little help, she's managed to throw together this little shindig and even coax a few wallflowers into showing up. It's not a Jeffersonian employee get together where she'd know who's who, who's the new kid on the block and which employee was sleeping with another employee, but everybody's a stranger to each other at City General sooner or later. Tonight's the best time to get to know each other.
With a handful of nibbles in one hand and a glass of wine in the other, this girl is going to work the room and mingle like the professional mingler she is.
[ooc: Backdate, threadjack, etc. etc. etc. all you want.]

Nothing better to do, mostly. Most of the crew had up and left now; Jim had landed himself a girlfriend, of all things. He figured he might as well make some gesture at socializing with his coworkers for as long as he'd be stuck here.
Of course, his idea of socializing involved standing by the bar and sipping the offerings. Which was fine by him. He wasn't hiding, just not going out of his way.
Open
Besides, it might help him get more comfortable with the names and faces of his coworkers. So, there he was with a plastic cup of punch, leaning against the wall and people watching for the time being.

A handful of people get a hello or a hug or both as a greeting for her and a thank you for showing up. There are a few small talk conversations just finishing up as her view narrowed in on one guy standing off to the side by himself. She didn't know him and he didn't know her. Perfect victim.
"Save some for the rest of us," she laughed as she made her way to him. "I'm Angela."

"Meet anybody interesting tonight?" And by interesting, she means 'willing to sleep with'.

Oh look, baby quiche.

"It's time I make the introductions," she said to Aion, smiling earnestly. He moved in complete different circles.
no subject
"All right. Are these people all doctors or are they assisting the hospital through other means?"

"I don't know, I think there's more than enough here to take out everyone's liver," he grinned a half-grin at that, extending the hand that didn't have a glass in it, "Dr. Leonard McCoy. It's a pleasure."

"Well, this explains the distinct aura of a misanthrope who's been lured - by the siren call of free food and an open bar - to a party full of people."
no subject
Looking around, he takes in his surroundings as he goes to stand by a wall. He never has been someone who is social. That includes now.
Besides, he'd rather not risk transforming here.
no subject
"Distinct?" House takes a fake whiff at himself. "I bathed." Auras of course are not something perceived by any of the five senses. Oh the supernatural. "And it looks like someone is looking to hobnob and bump knuckles with anyone to get a feel for the familiar."
no subject
"With a glass of wine, people are bound to have a looser tongue. Shader, see if you could find out anything useful."
no subject
"It's a party. A chance to enjoy other people's company, get to know one's colleagues and peers as actual individuals... this is another of those Most People conversations, you know."

Most People conversations. Have an eye roll, Wilson. More for the collection. "Most People small chat something like this too right?" Mmm, fancy pigs in a blanket.

He's got plenty of those, too, but it's the thought that counts. "Hmm. Do Most People talk to their friends when they're at a party? Why, I think so, yes."
Ooh, House found something good there. Wilson's going to go ahead and grab a few of those pigs in blankets, too, thanks.

He nods, giving her a scrutinizing glance for a moment, "I am, and I did... and you're Dr. Shader, I presume?"
late tag is late ;___;
Tonight he's not in the mood, jaw still sore though his teeth are back in place, and so he's a little subdued-- standing off to one side with a glass of wine, chatting quietly here and there with those he knows in passing.

And added as humorous afterthought: "Tell me you don't work in Radiology because I'm already on their bad side by asking if they had x-ray vision. Some people can't take a joke."
no subject
"You presume correctly. Aside from medical equipment thieves and weird curses, how have you been?"
no subject
She doesn't speak to him when she sees him; all she does is stand near him hoping she can grab a plate without getting into a verbal battle of wits with him. He can be another person on the list of Princeton Plainsboro people she will never talk to ever again.
Yes, baby quiche. He needs to leave the rest of the platter for her.

"Been better," he admits, grumbling, "We're down by four crew members now, just two of us left in this damn place."

Not that she didn't try her much rather preferred position when she first got here, but something needed to give. At least in IT, there were no blood and guts, decapitated heads or the random body part being analyzed.
"Been here long?" Angela attempts at small talk.
no subject
"Pretty much," Shader agrees.
"That's too bad," Shader said. "But at least you're not entirely alone?"

"Aren't social outings meant for this purpose, to get to know the people around you? Don't think others aren't aiming to do the same." Violet eyes darted at her, he made his point as he took a sip of his drink. "Though that's not to say I won't be having an enjoyable night, Lilith. Now, why don't you introduce me to some of your friends."
no subject
He turned to the woman on his arm, leaning in to whisper in her ear. "Marishka, have you met Lilith? She was responsible for helping me find employment when I first came here... let's go say hello..."
no subject
"Mm...no."
no subject
Smiling brightly at his date, he wrapped an arm around her slender waist and led her through the crowd.
It took but a moment...
"Lilith~ my, but don't you look lovely this evening... I think this party was long overdue, don't you?"
The chevalier gave a slight nod towards her escort, an acknowledgment of the other man's presence before turning his attention back to the women.
"Allow me to introduce my date, Marishka. Marishka, this is Lilith Sahl, an exceptional talent here at the hospital."
no subject
She sensed the pair approaching before they introduced themselves, by the corner of her eye, she had observed the movements of the party, in case security was necessary and sporadically minding the position of the guests for their safety. Lilith turned and smiled, extending her hand to shake Marishka's. "What a pleasure to meet one of Doctor Solomon's friends. This is Aion. He agreed to join me this evening."
no subject
He glanced towards the man's date to acknowledge her presence while extending his own hand for the other man to shake. He returned a light smile as he focused his attention on Solomon. "A pleasure to meet you, doctor. Solomon, was it?"
no subject
His head tilted slightly, assessing the other man's appearance. There was something about him that Solomon liked immediately. Whether it was that air of distinction that Aion seemed to possess, or some deeper essence that felt like a mixture between his old business partner Jez, and his friend Luke... he couldn't say.
But he was rarely wrong when it came to judging others, a talent that had led him far in the business world. And the fact that his esteemed colleague, Lilith, had seen fit to bring him to the party... merely confirmed what he was thinking.
"Have you been in the City long, Mr. Aion?"
no subject
Instead, she rested her head on Solomon's shoulder fondly.
"So nice to meet a friend of Solomon's."
no subject
"How did you meet Doctor Solomon, Marishka?" she asked, giving her an easy smile.
no subject
He kept quiet to listen to Marishka's answer, curious himself as to how they've become acquainted. The Doctor and the beauty. Interesting, truly interesting to say the least.
no subject
But feeling Marishka's body so close, he was drawn out of his thoughts. She had that miraculous effect on him, especially recently. Eyes sliding over to peer at the long soft hair framing her face, he awaited her answer. It was good for her to socialize more, healthy for her mental state to widen her circle of friends.
And she did look quite distracting...
no subject
"Solomon works with you?"
She didn't understand anything about doctors. It was something that mattered so little since she didn't need one. She didn't get ill and her injuries healed when she consumed blood.
