Log; ongoing;
When; September 12th, during the prison curse
Rating; PG13
Characters; Haruka (
kazeno_youni )and Michiru (
actingelegantly )
Summary; Haruka and Michiru face their punishments in prison
Log;
Pain is the first thing to blossom into vivid brilliance as she stirs into consciousness. There's a throbbing in her head that pounds in time with the now noticeable ticking of the city, and she can feel the sting and insistent ache of many bruises and other wounds that she hasn't sorted out yet. It's only pain to her. Pain is bearable, and she's endured worse for the sake of her mission and the safety of her partner.
More concerning to her, as she takes note of her surroundings, is that she has been bound and detained in a disturbingly familiar fashion, her body pressed against a slate piece of wall, her legs tied together and her arms bound above her head. It's a crude parody, but a very efficient reminder.
And still, still it she could have borne that, found a way to escape or deal. The fact that it was so obviously a recreation of her dying day was reason in itself to see past the distasteful attempt to shake her spirit. If they were trying to punish her for that day, they could do so much worse.
But they had. And as she looked beyond the thick glass separating her from the cell beyond, she felt the world swing out from under her, and her heart, though it had stopped beating with her death, now seized at the sight that greeted her.
Haruka. With blood on her hands and in a very great deal of pain.

Haruka. With blood on her hands and in a very great deal of pain.

"Michi...ru... Michiru... ughh... Michiru!" She placed a hand onto the ground in attempt to stand up when she gasps to what she sees. Her eyes widening in shock, she noticed that the floor was slowly becoming tainted in crimson red. Lifting up her hand that was now dripping blood, she stared at it in horror as she realized that it was not only coming from her but that it wasn't stopping. A sharp pain felt in her chest, she quickly grabbed the front of her shirt. "Ughhh... AHhhhh!!!" What was going on? This feeling. It was only momentarily but she'd felt it before and now. This constant pain. What was it from again?

Haruka...
Her eyes widened as her lover's scream echoed in her ears, provided in heartbreaking clarity through speakers set somewhere between the dividing wall of their cells. She knew that sound, knew the intonation of it with a familiarity that came only from standing by to watch as others, innocents, unwillingly revealed their hearts to the enemy and her.
She struggled against the bindings, twisting her form to try and break free. But the deities, it seemed, had taken it upon themselves to strengthen their version of this trap. Nothing gave way, and she was left to simply watch, as she had watched so many others.
"Haruka!"

Michiru.. Mi-Michiru...
That's right. This feeling was... Her partial reflection on the glass was enough to give it away. Something she had seen numerous times and simply allowed to happen to others. This was the same feeling as her pure heart being taken out. Her denied guilt for having to taint her hands to accomplish her fated mission and the pain she allowed others to suffer is what the deities wanted her to atone for. Just how ironic this was.
"I'm... ughhahh... coming... AHhhhh..ughhh AHHhhh~! Mi-Michiruahhhh!!"

"Aah-!" Bracing herself against the wall, she pressed against the bindings with all her might, every inch of her pressing forward to reach her partner. Of all the people in the world, she couldn't allow Haruka to go through this. Her world could have any sacrifice it wanted, so long as it wasn't her lover, the racer who was the wind itself. Anyone but her. "Haruka! Lie still! Aungh!"

The wind senshi curled them into fists and firmly pressed against its cold surface in attempt to stand again. She wasn't sure what good it would do but she had to try. She had to break the barrier separating them. Her fist and forearm gradually sliding down with each struggle upward, she screamed even louder to work through the chest pain. That was when an even louder thud was felt inside of her and a soft voice beside her ear.

Her lover's screams pierced her deeply, drawing tears along the edges of her eyes formed of pain and frustration and the need to reach Haruka's side. She never allowed for excuses for anything, least of all any that might stop her from helping her partner.
Haruka... I won't let you die
Deep in her heart, something new began to stir into wakefulness.

The voice briefly spoke to her. Soft and gentle as if to soothe her soul. Haruka immediately closed her eyes and allowed that feeling to settle until a flash of light surrounded the two, startling her a bit. Her pain gone and the blood receding, she softly spoke to herself in wonder. "What's going on-"
An item gradually appearing before her, her planet wand floated in front of her, brightly shining to guide its owner. The wind senshi looked up until she met eyes with her partner and simply nodded before grabbing the wand.
"Uranus Planet Power~ Make up!"

"this is..."
She watched as the light surrounded them both, almost belatedly realizing that she was no longer held by the stone wall. A note of awe filled her heart as she watched the planet wands appear before them. How far did the powers of the senshi extend?
Meeting her partner's gaze, she nodded, affirming, before she too reached to grasp the symbol of their destiny.
"Neptune Planet Power... Make up!"

"Is this..." Uranus softly spoke as she stared at it. She could sense a familiar energy from it. Almost nostalgic. As if it had been with her this whole time.
This power I'm feeling... could it be...

As it drifted into her hand, her fingers caressed the shape of neptune's symbol engraved on the back, and it was so like welcoming a piece of herself back into a reunion, or like having an old friend come home.
"the talismans..."
As it turned out, they'd received them not a moment too soon, as two rather unhappy guards burst into the room, angry that two prisoners were not serving their time properly

"Heh, that wasn't long. Seems like we could have our pay back sooner than I thought." Her expression growing more serious, she called out to her partner. "Let's go, Neptune!" With that, she began to dash towards her enemy. These bastards. They were going to pay for the suffering they've caused, especially to Michiru. Deities. They had better hope she doesn't find them here for the wind senshi was in no mood to have mercy.

And with that, Neptune leapt towards her enemy as well, her eyes narrowing as she approached.
The guards roared and moved in to attack. They were surprisingly fast, considering thier bulk, but anger and the new surge of senshi powers gave Neptune the edge she needed in the fight. It took her a little longer than she would have liked, but she managed to out-maneuver her enemy until he ran straight into the glass separating the two jail cells. Making it out of the room, she looked to her partner, speaking with a challenging and amused smile on her face "The enemy is pretty tough this time."

The wind senshi returned the same smile as she continued to dash down the long hall. "Seems that way. Even with the talismans at that." Her expression grew more serious. "It's unfortunate but, we'll have to retreat for now before more of those guards come." She briefly glanced down at her sword. Talisman. The sole item that had been said to form the Holy Grail. She had to lightly snicker when she thought of her words. Such irony. To think they really didn't need to sacrifice anyone.
