Summary; A cell gets flooded from the inside before Prison Island sinks underwater.
Log; "...There you go! Now we're talking." Mat's medallion had hardly suffered any damage, far as her fingertips could tell. Though Umi's senses were absorbed by the feeling of cool water dribbling through her hands.

Sweet water, she noticed, feeling grateful her ability to perceive her element was returning to her as she gradually recovered her strength. So it could be that this was a river or lake or some other body of water surrounding them. It'd been the fury of the ocean encircling the whole City that she'd felt, and still could feel. As if the waves predicted something terrible was about to happen and this angered them. That couldn't bode well.

"Can you feel it?" She turned to Shin with the question, as her hand reached in the dark to hand the medallion back to Mat. "It's really happening, isn't it. This place's going to get destroyed with everyone insi--- ahhhh! What!?"

A piercing pain struck her eyes and she had to squeeze them shut. But the moment the pain receded and she opened them again, Umi understood. The blur that was the dark cell and her two companions came slowly into focus. "I can...!"

Her sight had just been given back. So it had to be Sunday already.

"Light, what bloody good timing." Slipping the medallion back around his neck, he stepped away from the door. "If that's the case, deal with the flaming door."

He was unarmed but he was also lucky. He'd manage.

"Let's get out of this bloody cell and out of here." He didn't like the sound of everything being destroyed with people inside. The sooner they were out, the better.

I SUCK SO HARD.

[identity profile] brbgonefishin.livejournal.com 2009-09-13 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Nothing." It was said with a mixture of frustration and anger. "I can't feel Suiko. There's nothing -- nothing there."

He could use some of that luck, right now.

I SECOND THE NO SUCKING THING

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Mat frowned and shook his head. "I don't know. I never know when it works or how. But since it's blood unlikely, it should happen sometime."

Stepping forward, he put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Look, getting frustrated won't help." Then he looked at Umi. "Can you get the door taken out? Maybe if we get out of the cell that'll help."

Light if he knew. Magic or whatever was not his area of expertise.

Shin took a deep breath and forced himself to relax, trying again to feel the armor. This time, whether it was Umi's support or Mat's luck, it snapped into place.

"I have it!" The armor filled in a missing piece of his soul and he almost cried with relief.

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Burn it all, some bloody luck." He laughed and got out of the way. No point in letting himself get smashed by water. That would only make things worse for them escaping here.

"First person to find a broom or a long stick or anything like that, tell me." Then he'd be more useful than just providing them with a good amount of luck.

[identity profile] brbgonefishin.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Shin nodded and fished the tiny orb out of his pocket. A few moments and some strategically placed wrapping paper later, he was wearing a blue and white plated armor with a long trident clenched in his hands.

It only took another second for him to send a geyser of water crushing into the door.

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
He couldn't help staring in shock at what he just saw. That armor came from nowhere. Light, how did he get mixed up in all this. Scratching his head, he sighed. This was bloody unbelievable.

"Light, you two."

But since the door was out of the way, he stepped into the hall. "We're clear. Let's move."

[identity profile] brbgonefishin.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Shin gave him a sheepish, surprisingly boyish smile.

"Have Shuu show you what he can do with rocks some time."

He let Umi go before him, glancing around at the row of cells. Some of them were empty, but...

"We can't just leave them here."

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Glancing to one side, he saw a long staff. He paused. Oh, who was he kidding? This was his bloody luck kicking in again. Grabbing it, he held it like a weapon as he went to one of the doors.

They really should get out of here.

"Burn me," Mat muttered as he looked inside. Empty. He moved onto the next one. "You two can handle locks then?"

[identity profile] brbgonefishin.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe a bit more subtly," Shin said. The prongs of his trident closed, crab like, around the next lock. With an expert turn of his wrist, the metal broke free and he reached out to pull the door open.

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Without bothering to think about it, he pointed ahead of him down the hall. "That way." His luck better hold out and be right on that one.

If it ran out now, they were done for. He didn't want to die here. As badly as he wanted to protect Rain, he couldn't be trapped away from his own world. There was too much Mat needed to do.

[identity profile] brbgonefishin.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Shin nodded his agreement.

"The ocean falls away. We're water, now. We'll have to go up to get out.

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Good a plan as any." It was last minute and could easily fail. And all relying on his luck. How did it always come down to that? Grumbling under his breath, he led them down the dark hall and tried not to think.

Turning without thinking would mean he'd find the right way faster than thinking about it.

[identity profile] brbgonefishin.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Shin followed him, quickly decimating the locks on all the cages as they passed, even the empty ones -- no one else would be held here.

[OOC: bring in Clef and Shuu, soon? What do you guys think?]

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
No monsters so far. He was only just more than a little grateful for that. Mat really hated fighting and fighting monsters.

Turning another corner, he looked back at them. Everything was alright so far.

[ooc: Works for me!]
bequiet_hescreamed: Just who do you think you're calling a shrimp? (well now wait a minute)

[personal profile] bequiet_hescreamed 2009-09-14 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
No monsters yet, but Clef was running from something when he turned into the corner and, glancing behind him, ran straight into Mat. Fortunately for the taller man, the magician just sort of bounced off and then glared up at him, apparently assuming he was a guard at first.

He looked like hell - dirty, his (Earth) clothes burnt and torn, and missing his staff. Whatever he had been through had apparently done nothing to quell that infamous temper of his, however, and he had been putting it to good use.

[identity profile] kongo-king.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Not far down the hall there was a sound of a wall being, well, smashed through. In a couple of blows no less. Whatever was punching through it was very, very strong if it could get through a solid wall like it was a small heap of gravel.

Shrouded in a cloud of dust, an armoured figure paused, looked around and spotted the group, heading towards them with rhythmic determination. It had what looked like a very large staff slung over its shoulder.

Thankfully, for Shuu's sake, the dust cleared enough for him to be recognizable when he was a good twenty feet away.

"I thought it was you Shin!" He grinned at his buddy and looked to Mat. "Looks like you're here too. And..." He looked bewildered to Umi and Clef. "I dunno. Anyway, this place is set to blow right?"

[identity profile] brbgonefishin.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Shin was about to say something about Surprise Visitor Number One when Surprise Visitor Number Two caught his attention. He was kind of Shuu-centric, that way, and he brightened up visibly at the sound of his buddy's voice. A few seconds later and Shuu was the recipient of one very big Shin-Hug. Only Shin would figure out how to hug in full armor.

"It certainly took you long enough, Kongo," he said when he pulled back, sweeping his eyes over Shuu's armor with a look that said, 'you will explain this.'

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
First there was a boy running into him and shooting him a glare then Shuu was bursting through the wall. "If this is my bloody luck kicking in then I'm have bloody good day." Mat didn't know and he didn't care.

Though, he'd think about Shuu having armor too later.

"Let's get moving people. I'm not going to die here, thank you."

[identity profile] kongo-king.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
He looked back at Shin, and he knew. Knew that look he was getting. Ho boy. What to say without telling the future and causing time to explode in little timey bits all over the place.

"Yeah, let's save the niceties for later, ladies and gents." Shuu switched down to his sub-armour. He could still break through walls, but this allowed him more maneuverability. He'd only really needed it to use Gan Tessai to break in.

"We should be able to get back the way we came. I'm guessing the plan is to get out, and help anyone we find on the way? Er..." He looked at Clef. He wasn't just a kid. He looked the worse for wear. "You gonna be able to keep up? I can carry you."
bequiet_hescreamed: I'm soaking wet, my princess just went off to kill herself, and now a sparkly bunny is raining down from the heavens. (idk wtf is going on anymore)

[personal profile] bequiet_hescreamed 2009-09-14 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Clef wasn't seriously hurt, but was very high-strung if that counted as unusual. Umi was here! And she could apparently see! And there was a lot of noise and hurrying around and people KNOCKING DOWN WALLS.

What the hell.

He found himself grabbing one of Umi's hands for some reason (he'll probably drop it as soon as he thinks about it, but for now there you go) before he said or did anything else. And he probably had been going to say something, but Shuu cought his attention first. For a second he scowled at the very suggestion of being carried, but then his rationality got the better of him and his expression relaxed. Shuu was only trying to be helpful, after all.

"... I'm fine," he says quietly, almost muttering. "Thanks."

Shin stayed in full armor, only because he wanted to keep ahold of the jumonji yari. It was coming in very helpful for destroying locks.

"Do you want to split into groups? Five of us roaming the halls seems like it would attract attention. And we'll free more people faster."

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Mat frowned at the suggestion. It wasn't that he didn't want to help the people here but there was a disadvantage to that.

"If we split up, someone loses my luck. Sticking together means that we stand a bloody chance of getting out together."

[identity profile] kongo-king.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
He grinned at Clef. "No problem. You need a lift, just say." Clapping his hands together and letting off a cloud of dust from his escapades of turning the walls to swiss cheese, Shuu made quick note of their surroundings.

"Look, let's not stand around arguing too long. We're going to attract attention one way or another, and like this we can probably beat those guards."
bequiet_hescreamed: But not as possessed as he COULD be! (possessed of a strong will)

[personal profile] bequiet_hescreamed 2009-09-14 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
"I think we're better off staying together," Clef offered, looking in the direction of the footsteps and pulling out of his pocket... a taser. It might not look like much, but it was a decent substitute for his staff as far as channeling lightning magic went. "The extra people we'd help won't be any better off if we can't get them out of here."

Glancing over his shoulder, he nodded to Shuu and moved to the back of the group since he knew that he was not exactly as fast as everyone else with their longer legs. He could handle it, anyway. "I'll cover the rear - go!"

Personally, Shin thought he and Shuu were totally capable of covering eachother's backs, but safety in numbers it was. He fell in behind Mat, knowing that with the other man's luck and his connection to the water, they'd find their way out soon enough.

[identity profile] bloodygoodluck.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right. This way people." His flaming luck was working so far. But with that boy in the back, Mat didn't run. He wasn't sure that Clef would be able to keep up if he did. He was already really tall. Taller than all of them in the group.

He wasn't comfortable with that boy in the back. Glancing back at Shin, he whispered, "Tell Shuu to stand close to the boy. I want to try and not have him get left behind accidentally."

orz so late ;A; Net failed me yesterday

Shuu didn't need to be told to keep an eye on Clef. Even if he had known the wizard was actually quite old and powerful, he still would have been watchful. Shuu was that kind of person.

Falling in line with the group, Shuu kept a watchful eye, ready to fight anything that got in their way.

"Who the hell would send anyone here anyway?"
