Wedding!

When; Friday September 25th
Rating; PG
Characters; Kyou Sohma, Tohru Honda and anyone who wants to attend.
Summary; After the wedding, because they really only wanted to celebrate with their friends.
Log;

He couldn't stop smiling, glancing over at Tohru surrounded by the friends she'd made in the City. Kyou was still in a state of disbelief that this had all happened. Something he'd debated for so long about doing, come so far to work at making a reality. He'd been here for a year and this entire time, this was all he'd really wanted. The road had been a long one, she'd started at such an early point compared to him...and they'd been through so much together. He knew better than anyone how special something like this was, how lucky he was to be given this opportunity. There was a chance that either of them could be sent home at anytime, but he also knew that here...there...they'd stay together. Even if he had to marry her a hundred times over.

Chatting amicably amongst a group of her friends, Tohru thought she felt a pair of eyes. Glancing behind her, she noticed Kyou, watching her from a distance away. The warmth that erupted within her chest spread throughout the entirety of her body. The happiness she felt...definitely...could never be beat! Kyou...was her husband and they had both vowed to spend the rest of their lives...together. There was nothing in that instant that could bring her anymore happiness than she already felt. Anymore...and she thought she would burst.

Face erupting into a glowing smile she beamed at him. She just loved him so much. Turning to her friends, she excused herself briefly, before turning back to him and walking across the yard. The joy she felt was impossible to erase from her face.

"Kyou-kun..." Reaching out to him she moved to grab his hands, a happy blush dusting across her cheeks as she rose up onto her tiptoes to place a gentle kiss upon his lips. Her expression turned a little sheepish as she reflected a moment over what she had just said.

"Though that's a little inappropriate...now, Kyou." She tried. It still sounded a little strange to her without the honorific, but she knew that if they were going to be spend the rest of their lives together then with Kyou above everyone else...she didn't have to be overly formal. He accepted her no matter what.

Hatsuharu was quietly observing everyone, listening in on the conversations he was able to make out. He was also thinking to himself how the wedding wasn't as vomit worthy as he'd thought it would be. It was more pleasant than he imagined, perhaps because of those who were involved!

All the while it made him miss Rin even more.

Taking a break from people watching, he contemplated food.

Penny loved weddings. Granted, most of the ones she had been to weren't located in alternate dimensions, but a wedding was a wedding, and Tohru was adorable.

God, Penny felt old. She didn't know Tohru's age, but she was guessing it was a good decade less than her own. Old maid time. All Penny needed was some cats and she could officially be a spinster. A dead spinster, with eight ducks, living in a strange dimension with Billy-the-laundry-buddy-who-is-actually-a-kind-of-evil-but-not-really-too-bad-genius, sort of dating a... well. No, she and Hammer weren't really dating. They were avoiding more than anything.

There would be time to dwell on her increasingly complicated love life at a later point. This was a happy time, and Tohru deserved a nice reception. She would have to sneak in a hug for the new bride when said bride wasn't busy with her groom.

The whole ceremony had gone off very smoothly, and from what Hikari could tell as she looked through the crowds, the reception too would be a pleasant success. She took a moment to straighten out some wrinkles in her formal outfit (being a maid of honour she had for once accepted that she had to dress in a fancy way) before smiling brightly, glad she had been able to take part.

The girl pushed any thoughts of a certain someone into the back of her mind, not wanting to spoil her friends special day with her own issues. She was just happy that Tohru and Kyou had finally been able to settle. It had been obvious during the vows there would be no parting them now, no matter what the City did, and Hikari wished them happiness, reflected in the gift she had left on one of the tables earlier.

Sighing, she walked along mingling as she pleased, looking as cheerful as ever.

Tohru spotted Hatsuharu, standing a distance away from her. Grabbing a extra drink off of the table, she approached him with a smile.

"You looked like you might have been a little thirsty" She said, lifting the cup up to him. "Are you having fun?"

Glowing with happiness, Tohru found herself wanting to find all her friends. Everyone had done SO much for the wedding, and she felt nothing less than thankful. Seeing Penny, she made her way over to the older woman, a happy smile on her face.

"Penny-san!" Beaming, she folded her hands before her and bowed politely. "Thank you SO much for helping out with the wedding. Everything you helped out with looks and tastes great. You really went above and beyond yourself!"

Penny brightened and hugged Tohru tightly. The bowing was kind of strange, but Tohru looked so, so happy; she and Kyou were definitely in love. It was sweet.

"Aw, you're welcome, Tohru. It's nothing a friend wouldn't do." She released Tohru and smiled. "Just look at you! You look great, and you and Kyou are completely adorable."

Kaoru didn't know these people very well, but they were Kenshin's friends, and they seemed nice.

And she couldn't help but remember that soon, she and Kenshin would be in this position too...

She smiled happily, warmed by the thought, and by the obvious love between the couple.

With a small smile, Hatsuharu nodded, taking the drink. "I am."

A slight headtilt as he realized something. "Just when I think you and Kyo can't be any cuter, the both of you do."
