log; ongoing; closed
When; September 29, a little after midnight
Rating; PG-13
Characters; Nagi [
brbmindbullets] and Schuldig [
brbmindfuck]
Summary; Schuldig has some things to say about Nagi's recent actions.
Log; Schuldig leaned against the wall, eyes resting expectantly on the couch and the one lying on it. He'd torn the City apart looking for Nagi's body, a long and irritating search that had finally turned up results. He'd cleaned it up of course, it'd been so dirty. Now he just had to rely on the concept that his comrade would actually revive in twenty-four hours. The guides for the City said as much, but he hadn't seen it happen so of course he'd be dubious.
Tch. He was irritated by the entire situation. Nagi shouldn't be dead. What the hell was going on, what had Nagi done to end up like this? What wasn't Nagi telling him? And who were the people that had responded to his death? Well, he'd find out as soon as the youngest member of Schwarz woke up. If he woke up like the guides said he would.

Bizarre.
He didn't feel particularly upset that he'd died. No- what was more important was Schuldig and Tot and- to some extent, Nena. She had to have seen that, and he felt as if he'd disappointed a little. And by extension, he disappointed that. That was absolutely unforgivable...
And what would Schuldig think? None of them had ever come close to dying before. And to be killed in such a way- it must have been a shock.
With a sigh, Nagi stretched and sat up, enduring the heaviness of his body, the phantom pain.

He couldn't simply accept the idea that one of Schwarz was actually dead. They didn't die, they were simply too... good for such a human expiration. And why had Nagi acted on his own? It was unlike him to do something like that.

But for now, he had to deal with Schuldig. He didn't have to look up at him to know Schuldig was very displeased with him. He could sense the tone, the aura.
All he wanted to do was see Tot. Why did things turn out like this?

"Care to tell me what they hell you've been hiding from me?" a snapped question, one that demanded an informative answer rather than simply a no. And if Nagi didn't respond in the way he expected him to? Well, he had ways to get his comrade to talk. Perhaps not the nicest of ways, but he knew they'd produce results.

"It's- complicated." How was he supposed to explain that sort of thing? That he entered this game for the small chance he'd be able to see Tot. It was in the rules that he couldn't tell anyone from the beginning.

The stint with trying to bring Tot to their side was forgivable. It's not as if he was trying to run off to join Weiss. But this. This was different. Knowing the future, and seeing this behavior from Nagi, and seeing that scar on his arm, everything was different and had new meaning and he didn't like it. His hand tightened on Nagi's hair, pulling a little harder at his irritation.
"Complicated? Bullshit. Tell me what the hell you've been doing. What you've been keeping from me. Why you're dead."

He tried to piece together the words in his head. What was the best way to explain this?
"I wasn't supposed to die," he said. "I still don't know why I did."
And he truly didn't. Nanako didn't seem like the type to betray him, and if she understand the premise of the game, she shouldn't want to sabotage their side. Or perhaps- because of her type, the killing became too much? He didn't know for sure, he could only make speculations.

Nagi no longer had a heartbeat. No longer needed to breathe. Even if he exerted pressure on the brunette's throat, it wouldn't matter because he was already dead. So lifeless, so- Schuldig couldn't stand it. This wasn't planned, he hadn't seen this coming. Things like this weren't allowed to happen, so why-?
"Do you think I care what wasn't supposed to happen? You're dead and that's what matters. Tell me what the hell you got yourself into, you stupid brat!"

"I-" he rasped, but did his best to speak clearly. "It was a game. If we won, we could get whatever we wanted."
He took a moment to inhale out of habit. His sleeve slipped down a bit, and he could see the end of the scar looming at him, taunting him. A sign of his utter failure. "They gave me proof."

Nagi had died over some stupid game? No matter how morbid a game it was, it was still nothing more than some ridiculous game. One of Schwarz had died in something like that? It didn't sit well with him, and he made sure Nagi knew that the answer displeased him. He punched the boy before grabbing his arm and pulling the sleeve up to show the scar. At least he wasn't choking him anymore.
"And what the fuck is this? It's disgusting."

"They drop clues for the other players after a death. I suppose this was mine."

He wrapped his hand around the scarred arm, squeezing as he stared at the half-hidden letters. Betrayed. It may have meant something different in the game, but for him it was simply a betrayal to Schwarz. To act alone without Schuldig knowing. It infuriated him. Since when did Nagi think he could do things on his own without asking Schwarz first?
"Hasn't Schwarz taken good care of you? And this is how you repay us? Getting yourself killed doing something stupid? We aren't supposed to die, Nagi."
no subject
"I wasn't supposed to die. I was the one voting who got killed. I don't know what happened- but he could go through my barrier. The game master."

He gripped Nagi's arm a little tighter, listening to those thoughts. Those treacherous thoughts. Schwarz shouldn't have attachments to people. They should have nipped the relationship in the bud when they'd seen it. It was becoming troublesome if Nagi was going to start acting on his own for the sake of that girl.
He snorted, releasing Nagi and standing up. When he looked down at his comrade, his eyes were hard and cold, unlike his general carefree nature.
"Don't let this happen again."

No- the only thing he planned to do was train his mental abilities, become stronger so that he could gain his life back and go home to see Tot. He needed to become stronger in order to avoid being cursed again. He couldn't afford to lose Schuldig's trust. He really messed things up.
