All in all, it'd been a successful night. Not only was she wearing one of the dresses that'd been sitting in her closet forever, looking lonesome and silently begging to be worn, but she looked totally hot in it tonight. Her makeup was done, her hair was coiffed, her date... well, her date made good arm candy, even if they didn't quite match (too much hair between them) and he didn't properly appreciate social functions.
Well, that's what she got for going last minute on him. All she knew was, she wasn't going to sit at home and sulk because her original date (well, not that he'd known) had left the City.
But Ino was a girl of many means, and a girl thoroughly against feeling sorry for oneself (wrinkles, so many wrinkles), so she wiggled into her dress, slipped on her heels, twisted her hair up in a chignon, and forced one Yuri Lowell into a suit and tie and dragged him bodily to a ball. And it hadn't even been as hard as it sounded.
They danced a little, ate a little, drank a little (and Ino drank a little more), and now Yuri was walking and Ino was wobbling home, her arm threaded in his as she breathed in the crisp night air. The only problem now was, she couldn't stop smiling.
"That was so much fun!"
