(no subject)

When; Sunday, November 8th (backdated)
Rating; PG-13 for evil? Violence?
Characters; Jadis [[livejournal.com profile] never_christmas] and Hotaru [[livejournal.com profile] alldevouring]
Summary; Come closer, little girl. All I need is one drop.
Log;

Jadis only needs a single drop of blood.

Although she has no corporeal body, Jadis knows the way to get one. A bit of human blood, spilled, would bring her back. Would give her a chance to rule the City as it is meant to be ruled, since it has become more and more irritating to attempt to rule Narnia. Jadis knows to take an opportunity as it is handed to her, and she will take this one.

She spends her time in Xanadu because people pass there, and she sees the little girl long before she is seen. Children can be impressionable, particularly those who have not met the Lion.

She had a certain fondness for walking out in Xanadu, whenever her strength served her right. And certainly hoped that no one ever thought ill of her, was considerate enough to leave notes, if she ever left. But in the end, little Hotaru thought of herself as a burden. Yet the walk out to the park had certainly been put off far too long. It was the cold, after all, it brought too many aches and pains to her already weak little body.

By now, it was a long gone thought, solved by simple aspirin and wearing a heavier amount of clothing than usual. Black, and nothing but. Hotaru is still rather oblivious to any one around her, even people that already passed by her as she trailed down the path, where the flowers once were. She even considered to head back, after a disheartening discovery that there was nothing but the color of gold and brown, and not the pastels she was fond of. For a hesitant little second, she stood there, on the path, half-debating with herself to continue forward, or press on.

Unfortunately, Hotaru continued rather slowly.

The key word there being "help", Hotaru was still notoriously blind enough to stop and drop everything to appease someone. Anything to make them happy. But it was so distant and unusual to hear it in the first place, Hotaru had to stop to rationalize it. With wide dark eyes, Hotaru took a few steps closer to where she heard it, clasping a hand to her heart, "... Hello?" She questioned, yet rushed along, "Wh- where are you?"

She certainly would not question what and if they needed help with. That would be very rude, indeed. The little girl trudges forward, and stops, finally, eyes resting on a ghostly figure, in mild disbelief. Was that her? Is that a spirit? It's only her appearance that makes her reluctant.

"Ah, I- I'm sorry?"

Hotaru moved forward with no question, carefully, as to not to exert herself. As tempted as she was to ask, Hotaru held back on questioning, only raising a thin eyebrow, nodding, until Hotaru could get a better look at her. The poor woman... was this result of a curse or something else? It managed to work a very large frown from Hotaru.

Of course she would help, it seemed the right thing to do, no questions, at all, "What do you need? What happened?" The last questioned stumbled from Hotaru's mouth, as she was careful not to look at her directly, kept a submissive droop of her head.

No, definitely not. The rationale in Hotaru's mind argued, while skeptical, such a thing was possible. Plenty of beings lived freely to exist in this world to harm and curse one another. "Oh," She caught herself, feeling unsure. She did, however, approach forward, no matter how ghastly she thought the request seemed.

Blood... really? Yet lucky for this witch, magic and rituals were beyond her. "Like a pin-prick?" Hotaru wouldn't lie to herself, it made her uncomfortable, it showed in the way her body tensed up.

The faint voice in Hotaru's head that only surfaced whenever Hotaru was sick or upset stirred. It was too faint for Hotaru to even notice, and as by nature, any feelings were typically ignored, she would act out in the opposite. Hotaru nodded, taking it in all in. It seemed harmless enough to her, and with downcast eyes, for a moment, Hotaru appeared doubtful.

"Ah... all right," Finally, agreeing, but with a shaky voice. And wearily, Hotaru offered a smile back. "If it really does help you, um, return to normal."

She paused, holding a hand to her chest once more, slightly rummaging underneath the jacket. There was a rose-like broach pinned underneath her jacket, part of her ensemble of clothing. "Ah-" Hotaru lowered her head out embarrassment, finally managing to unhook the said broach from her clothing, feeling it loosen slightly.

And victoriously, she pulled out the broach, sheepishly displaying it. Well, one prick... it wouldn't be so much. To her, Jadis wasn't threatening, at all. Carefully and slowly, Hotaru unhooked it, pulled back the small pin, took out her first finger, and pressed down hard. A small grimace showed up on her face, and withdrawing, Hotaru was successful in drawing her own blood, holding out a hand well enough for her to see.

"Ah... like that? I mean- what do you want me to do?"

The cold nearly takes the energy out from her, her knees buckle, she winces, and never says a word. And when it's over, Hotaru offers a weak little smile, a slight nod, and nearly drops to her knees.

A queen? Hotaru feels her pass by, like a passing cold breeze, turns to watch her leave. Even then, Hotaru offers a call out, "... G- good luck, Jadis-sama!"
