[closed; incomplete]
When; December 4, early morning
Rating; PG-13
Characters; Yuri Lowell [
notflynn], Flynn Scifo [
srslynotguy], Leon Magnus [
roseofseingald], Ruca Milda [
dreamsofhorns], Teito Klein [
notaspure], Ino Yamanaka [
boobsorgtfo], Sakura Haruno [
betterthanthen], Tenebie [
not_tenebie], Luc [
wind_magic]...and many more to be added.
Summary; They've finally found him, cornered with little choice but to fight. Take him down before he hurts, take him down before he regrets. The end of the core's influence- the beginning of picking up the pieces.
Log; Damn- they found him, right as he was about to neatly slice another noble in two. It was irritating to be interrupted, even more so to constantly be pressed into battles he wasn't interesting in. His main goals were to take down the wealthy, distribute their treasures- fighting the Flynn Brigade was not on his agenda. Not when they were so persistent.
Why couldn't they understand? He had a job to do. He didn't have the time for their worthless morality and sentimental speeches. They just couldn't see the bigger picture, they couldn't see beyond their glorified ideologies. It was sickening.
He knew Xanadu like the back of his hand- he quickly entered, hoping to lost them among the foliage and returning to the task at hand. He had to finish off that noble before someone healed that damn bastard. His work was incomplete.

He'd come to remember an oath that Yuri had made with him, that should he ever turn into this, Yuri would kill him. It'd been a fuzzy memory on returning, but now that he remembered he intended to amend it, without telling Yuri beforehand. Whether anyone else was prepared for it, he was willing to kill Yuri if that's what it took to put a stop to this. Not that he was especially thrilled by that possibility, but crazy bastards like this shouldn't allowed to do as they pleased, and he was going to make sure of it.
"Quit running away!"

Flynn hadn't liked being forced to take second fiddle in the chase for Yuri, but as he trailed shortly after the dark-haired knight, he conceded that it was only appropriate. Leon knew Xanadu's ins and outs, twists and turns, more than he could possibly given the time of his stay here in the city. It was frustrating, but instead of striking out on his own and letting his pride get the best of him, Flynn accepted that there were roles that must be filled by different people. No one person could handle everything, and a failure to acknowledge that could only lead to downfall, or worse, a failure for the whole unit.
He gripped Yuri's sword tightly in his hand and even if the weapon itself was hardly anything in that now they had enough money to furnish themselves with any and plenty other swords, the fact that it was Yuri's served as a reminder that his friend- his friend for only forever - need his help now. He wasn't going to lose Yuri, not to ancient structures that rose from the ocean level, or former Commandants turned traitor, and certainly not to this abstract state that was turning Yuri into some complete stranger! Yuri was right here, was right in front of them, and he could see that back-- he wasn't going to lose it this time!
"Leon, once we've caught up to him, let's try and circle him for a pincher!"

Teito followed Flynn and Leon closely, doing is best to keep up and continue following through all the foliage that Xanadu had. Whatever was going on with Yuri had to be stopped. Yuri had been a good person before this entire thing - and he didn't like what was going on with him. He was becoming a terrible person, and he was killing people that didn't need to be hurt in the first place. After all of this chasing, it was about time that they stopped him. He didn't like the idea of having to hurt Yuri. The older man had been kind to him since he had arrived in the City, after all - nothing had seemed off. But then this whole thing happened - Yuri was doing terrible things, and he had to be stopped.
And because of that, Teito was ready to fight. He gripped his bascule tightly, and continued to follow after them.

Stop running. Stop hurting people. He wanted so many things to stop now, most of all this situation. Many thoughts danced around his head as he followed everyone through the greenery, all telling him conflicting ideas about what they needed to do about Yuri. If he's as off-kilter as Mathias, he and the others might need to kill him. But Yuri --the Yuri before the curse, before all the killings of innocents-- isn't a bad person and he knew it. If they could manage to disable him, that'd be best, but well, easier said than done... Fighting him wasn't going to be like fighting her back home. She was sane and didn't want to hurt them if she could help it. Yuri wasn't anything like that now.
Even then, he needed to fight him too. Again. This time though, everyone was here, and none of them were going to let him get away.

At this point, they would be no losing the young warrior. Tenebrae would not allow it to happen. This had to end, and it had to end today.

But this wasn't the war; this was Yuri. He couldn't just let it go and pretend it wasn't important. In fact, the very idea of having to fight someone he actually knew made it seem that much more real than the battles back in Toran. It worried him, slightly. It was much better to face things head on than to sit and wait uselessly back at the house, though, and so he ran along with the rest, tightening his grip on his staff as he went.

Like catching him.
"Leon," she said, glancing over at him as they ran through the underbrush, then made a hand gesture, two fingers pointing forward--and realizing that he probably wasn't well-versed in the Konoha shinobi's system of signals, she explained, "I'm going ahead to cut him off."
With that, she gathered her chakra into a teleportation jutsu, propelling herself forward faster than their eyes could follow.

He ducked behind trees, zig-zagged, did everything he could to get them off his trail. In his moment of insanity and irrationality, he sort of forgot that Repede could track him down anywhere in this City.

"Flynn, take his left. Luc, Ruca, Teito - follow up from behind to corner him. Don't lose sight, we have to stop him here."

This was the best way to keep Yuri from running. It was now or never, and if they continued to let Yuri keep running around like he was, it wouldn't end well for anyone. There were a lot of people in danger, and it was important to get him now. He kept running, doing his best to move through the foliage.
He didn't intend to lose sight of Yuri, and he kept following his movements as best as he could.
