log; ongoing, closed~
When; BACKDATED December 12th, late morning/early afternoon
Rating; lol G
Characters; Arystar Krory {
bloodykrory} & Miranda Lotto {
101st_job} & Noise Marie {
audiens}
Summary; A vampire, an old maid, and a blind pack mule go shopping... J/K J/K it's avoiding mistletoe teamwork, mmkay~!
Log;
Marie found it easy, unexpectedly so, to reach the fountain without hitch. The exact affects of the mistletoe he could not ascertain from the network, aside from an end result of kissing. His worry, then, had been of mistletoe suddenly growing, or forcing a person to remain in place until another was drawn. Reports were mixed.
Either he walked a blessed path, or most (all?) of the mistletoe did not grab single persons; Marie had no difficulty. The worst of it was tuning his headphones so loosely, to allow in so much noise -- it allowed him to be aware of the movements of every individual within twenty meters, yes, but also carried conversations and other sounds. Wet, smacking sounds, and indignant follow-ups.
It wasn't much of a worst, as after al l --Noise Marie was well accustomed to clamor of all kinds. Once reaching the fountain, two minutes early, he twisted again the knobs. A little finer; closing a little more out.

But no matter! He wasn't going to give way to this minor setback when Marie and Miranda had volunteered to join him for an outing! Such laid back occasions were rare, and he wanted to have fun like how normal people with friends did! It was with this determination that he had made his way sneakily through the City, dodging the slightest signs of mistletoe before coming upon the fountains as if it were Home Base in a child's game of tag. He let a sigh of relief and placed a trembling hand upon the railing, looking around for the other two.
He spotted Marie on the other side and waved. Then, upon feeling ridiculous for waving at a blind man, he lowered his hand and hurried towards him. "Ah, Marie! I'm sorry it took me so long!" He said in one quick breath. "I was being extra careful!"

She had even managed to shop a few things for Christmas, although mostly they were groceries; she had to make sure she had food, just in case she got fired again, to last her a few months at least. In consequence, the tins weighted a bit too much for her skinny hands to bear, but she supposed that was why no-one approached her. (That, and who would want to bump into a very old maid?)
So she reached the fountain a little bit after Krory did, and because she had hurried, her breath was quite on the shallow side. "I managed!" she panted out, dropping the bags to the ground and putting her hands on her knees to try and recover her breath. "Have you waited long...?"

"Not at all," he responded, and figuring it true added, "You're right on time! Any trouble?"
Even as he asked, he listened for Miranda. Her walk, though quickened, was no less distinct, and to her he waved well before she set down her packages. Though inclined to immediately take her bags, Marie opted to wait; doing so might give the impression that they should set off right that moment, and it seemed as if Miranda--and probably Krory, too--could use some time take a breath and calm down.
(If that was even possible. Marie was mostly a realist.)
"We've only just arrived," he assured Miranda.
Loosening his scarf, Marie considered. It had not escaped him that Krory had only just arrived, and even if he had gotten a job, it was unlikely that he would have yet been paid.
"So, what're we shopping for?"

He looked at Marie and then to the crowd in front of them. Everyone around them was buying Christmas gifts, and he wanted to as well! But there were two problems with this desire. First, two of the people he intended to shop for were standing right next to him. The second dilemma would be the money thing.
So the answer to Marie's question was a bit delayed. "W-well I think I will be just following along for now, if that's all right. I haven't a lot of ideas on what to get just yet!" Mostly true. He picked up a few of Miranda's bags (to show he wasn't a complete waste of space) and smiled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness.
Maybe it really wasn't wise to go out if he had no money and mistletoe was supposedly everywhere. But then, he had to protect Miranda and Marie too! Yes, no turning back now!

The panic over, she turned to Marie, and uttered a softer "Hello," before remembering that he had asked for something too. And that Krory had answered that question already, so all there was left was...her.
"Ahah, actually...Somehow, I managed to get all the shopping done myself, so maybe...Kanda's soba is all that's left?"

She could at least put her mind to rest on this: Marie could safely carry any and all bags of Yule gifts, as, after all (say it with me), he couldn't see. Weights, shapes, and sounds might give something away, but he liked a good surprise enough not to put too much thought into that.
Tilting his head toward Krory, Marie suppressed his grin into a more discreet smile. "That's fine. I'm sure you've already had a good look around, but it never hurts to do it again... and, if you're still looking, I'm sure one of these places could use the help. If only for the holiday season."
Shifting his hold on the bags, he nodded. "Just the soba? I'm impressed! Though, that'll cut the tour down."

He wasn't keeping his current situation of unemployment a secret exactly, but it wasn't something he was going to mention without a little prompting. But it seemed Marie was already on top of that. "That's very true! I'll be sure to ask around..." And maybe he could get discounts on gifts if he worked somewhere nice....
"Ah, but that means the risk is lower too!" Lest we forget the mistletoe crisis. He looked between Miranda and Marie before trotting off towards the shops. "Well, no better time than the present~!" Never mind that he was probably headed in the wrong direction.
[ ooc; asfkldj s-so brb going to California until Friday. Sorry guys! OTL ]
have fun in Cali!
Once corrected, she started walking, keeping close and between them both. "You could ask in restaurants, or coffee shops, maybe...or as security...?" she offered, numbering a few jobs off the top of her head. Though Marie would probably have better ideas that those...
