When; On the eve of their return :D
Rating; PGish?
Characters; Shin Mouri and Shuu Lei Faun
Summary; Shin and Shuu return to the City. Shuu remembers but Shin... not so much.
Log;

Shuu hit the ground with a thud. A very large thud. According to comedy cliche he probably should have left a Shuu-shaped imprint in the ground but that would rather droll and distasteful.

Sitting up, the teen groaned. This was... somehow familiar. And then like a wave it all came crashing back to him.

This was-!

He got to his feet, suddenly frantic. The city! Damn, he really had lost all recollection of it, but here he was.

Somehow, it looked different.

And not in a good way.

Just about the time Shuu got to his feet, there was another cartoonish whistle to signal something falling from the sky. A few seconds later, exactly what that something was became apparent: One rapidly moving Suiko, who was headed straight for his partner.

Shin hit the ground (and, not so coincidentally, Shuu) with far more force than such a tiny person had any right to build up. He raised one hand to his temple, pressing his palm to his forehead as though he had a headache. Which he did.

"Bloody...--" He stood, his other hand going to rub the numerous places on his body that had begun to hurt. Then he noticed his landing pad. "You okay there, buddy?"

Shuu didn't have time to get out of the way so Shin hit like a small pile of bricks. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as the time he got hit with a wrecking ball, but still, ow. He didn't even have his armour.

Making a sound somewhere between a grunt and a whimper, Shuu nodded.

"We're back here. In the City."

See previous re: wrecking ball, so Shin wasn't that worried. He came over to check his friend for bruises, anyway.

"Back in the where?" He asked, his brow knitting in a frown again. Had Shuu gotten taller? They were eye to eye, and while Shin wasn't as huge as Seiji or Touma, he wasn't the runt, either. "What're you talking about, then?"

Shuu seemed okay. His pride was more wounded than his body.

"Don't tell me you forgot this place. It's the city. Remember? Matt? Gateau? Little Shin?"

His brow furrowed as he took in the surroundings. "Looks like they redecorated since we were last here."

Shin was watching Shuu with more than a little concern, now, as he had no idea what Kongo was talking about. He bit his lip and reached up, touching the other boy's forehead with the back of his hands.

"Did you hit your head when you fell, love?"

Shuu scowled and shook his head. "I hit just about everything, as a matter of fact. You really don't remember this place?"

Shin gave him a cool look that clearly said, 'don't you take that tone of voice with me, Shuu Lei Faun.' Someone had been spending too much time around Shuu's mama. "I wouldn't have said so if I did, now would I have?"

He looked up to the sky, then, wrinkling his nose. The place looked like something out of one of Shuu's video games.

"Now then. Would you like to tell me why the sky is leaking what appears to be blood?"

There was a sigh from Shuu. No use panicking, after all people said that sometimes those brought back don't remember.

"I dunno. It looks bad though. Let's go see if we can still get in our old apartment."

Shin made a face, but he followed Shuu without skeptical comment. He was quite sure he'd remember something like this if he'd ever been here before, but... Shuu seemed sure, so he wasn't going to throw a fit about it.
