Log; Closed; Still in progress

When; January 17, 2010 - Midnight
Rating; PG
Characters; Yuuki Kuran ([livejournal.com profile] trappedinresin ) and Zero Kiryuu ([livejournal.com profile] missingthread )
Summary; As the result of a curse, Yuuki finds herself face to face (for real...) with Zero for the first time since her transformation. Only...it's not really in the most conventional of ways.
Log;

Eyes popping open, Yuuki stared at the ceiling of the unfamiliar room, a sense of confusion washing over her. Disorientated, she had to blink several times, forcing her awareness to return to her. Something felt off. It wasn't just one thing...or a couple of things, it was everything.

Leaning up onto her elbows, with a gentle shove, Yuuki pushed up into a sitting position, her eyes struggling to adjust to the dim light of the room and failing. Why can't I see anything? Generally it took little to no effort at all for her to see in the dark, her eyes adjusting effortlessly to the relief the dark of the night gave her. Although she had spent the majority of her life as a human, and she still enjoyed the sun, she found it hurt her eyes much more than it ever had in the past. They were more sensitive, and easily agitated. She didn't dare look directly into the sun anymore. Sniffing the air... even her sense of smell seemed to be gone now, and she was cold.

Picking the blanket up from the bed, she wrapped it around herself. With a small shudder, she pulled it tight. First of all, she knew she didn't recognize this place. She needed to find out where she was at, why her natural senses and reflexes were dimmed, and how it had all happened to begin with. A curse was the most likely culprit, but she had to be careful.

Cautiously grabbing the knob to the door, she stepped outside of the room...and wandered out into the rest of the apartment.

The opening of a door came as a surprise to him, something unusual for this time of night. Ichiru didn't exactly keep the same hours as him, preferring to not be awake during the more violent parts of the evening when Zero had difficulty managing his hunger. It had more to do with Zero's own discomfort than with Ichiru's though he tended to believe.

So the scent of his brother at this time of night was a surprise, since Ichiru wasn't one to often bother him when he really knew Zero wanted to be alone. Not unless he genuinely wanted to just annoy him. Most of the time Zero headed out of the apartment and down into the underground to soothe the beast that savagely appeared at night, so it was a pointless effort on Ichiru's part this late.

"I thought you were sleeping," he said, looking up from the table where he was doing his normal maintenance with Bloody Rose.

Back straightening, the familiar voice caused Yuuki's eyes to widen in alarm. Turning around, she felt stunned. Of all the apartments for her to wake up within.

"Z...Zero...?"

Her eyes fell down to the table where he sat, polishing Bloody Rose. A measure of discomfort caused her to shift awkwardly. What was going on...?

His twin's voice sounded uncertain, confused. It wasn't typical behavior from him at all. Placing his gun down on the table, before turning his whole upper body toward Ichiru. Zero glanced over at the clock in the room before giving him his full attention. It was midnight, literally not more than a few minutes after.

"A curse today?"

Realizing that he was, indeed, talking to her, Yuuki floundered a moment. Ah...! They had spoken...in her dreams. It was difficult to remember everything, but she knew that Zero had been there. He wasn't acting uncomfortable with her presence there at all, though.

Hands rising, she gently touched her face, alarmed, before looking down at her hands. Huh!? They weren't...her hands at all! Thinking about it...she knew she didn't feel normal. Everything was off. Now...she was beginning to understand why.

"O-oh...I..." There wasn't even a moment to think things through. He was already calling her out on the fact that this obviously was a curse!? "Maybe...I...I just feel a little weird, Zero..."

"What is it today?" he questioned, not seeing anything too different about his brother. Maybe it wasn't something visible. Maybe it wasn't a curse at all. "Or are you just not feeling well?"

She laughed awkwardly, putting a hand up to her head. "Yeah...! Maybe it's that. A couple weird dreams. I..." Eyes glancing back down to the table, she was surprised to see him up. When he'd visited her in her dreams, she'd been shocked. It was Zero...there was no mistaking that. But he was older, more mature. He looked...somehow much more hard.

"...Aren't you tired...?"

Tired. For several seconds, Zero just stared at him. Something was definitely off tonight. Ichiru knew his sleep pattern and what his nightly endeavors included so for him to actually ask if he was tired...

"I was just heading out..."

[identity profile] trappedincurse.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
He was leaving...? And heading out to do what? Hunt...? She didn't have to guess what. From her conversations with Ichiru, she knew Zero was from far into the future. But she didn't know how far, or what had happened in his life.

"Hey...can't you stay!? Just tonight. Zero, I um..."

She officially won the worst actor reward. She wasn't sure what to do in this body, or how to interact with him. But...she didn't want him to leave, either.

"I'll make something to eat. I have a bad feeling about tonight. I think it would be better if you stayed."
