Summary; It's a good curse for getting a little closer to people—maybe a lot closer.
Log;

Euphie has been a little more secluded since fully remembering the events leading up to her death. All those people... So, she almost made an excuse for herself when Lavi invited her to visit. After all, Allen would be there and he had seen the full extent of her dream. Did he know how close to real it was?

Still, she'd only known the two a short time, but she did care about them. They were two of her closest friends in the city and she couldn't just avoid them forever especially when she did want to see them. So, even with the nervousness gnawing at her, she found herself at their door, knocking lightly. Hopefully, they wouldn't mind that she brought her brother. She felt a little better with him there.

As for Lelouch, his reasoning for going along comprised of many reasons. He was downright suspicious of both Lavi and Allen, at least since they knew full well the events of SAZ and Lelouch's involvement. Now, they knew as much as Euphemia did, but as it was an affair of Lelouch's, he wasn't about to let those particular males out of his area of observation. At least, not any time soon. Then Lavi openly flirted with other girls as well as Euphy, and Lelouch wasn't having any of that. Call it his big brother instincts, but he was terribly protective of Euphie, not to mention somewhat reserved on such matters. The last? Well... Euphie had asked him to go along.

As if he would say no to that.

It was only a short time ago that Allen had been told by Lavi that Miss Euphie was coming to visit. He had spent the time since then cleaning around the flat; picking up trash, sweeping the floor, etc. Tea? He looked to the kitchen counter. It was still hot. Good.

Allen was a bit nervous. He had always lived with many people, not having to prepare for any sort of visitors. Was tea okay? What about snacks? Did visitors like snacks? Did Euphie want snacks? With Euphemia being the visitor, it made getting ready even more nerve-wracking. He hadn't seen her in a while, nor had he spoken to her recently...without it being awkward. Why, then, would Lavi invite her? Maybe Lelouch had a point about Lavi being a 'womanizer'...had he really taken an interest in Euphie?

He frowned.

The knocking, though light, snapped him out of his weary thought process. Everything aside, Euphie was here, and he and Lavi would be good hosts. And if Lavi was interested in Miss Euphie, he'd have to watch out for her.

Putting on a smile, he opened the door, and it only wavered in room for surprise a short moment at seeing Lelouche there, too.

"Oh, come in," he said politely, opening up the door. "There's tea on the counter if either of you would like....Lavi," he turned his head over his shoulder, "They're here!"

Having been in the middle of a casual reading session, Lavi quickly put a bookmark in place before tossing his book behind him and shouting, "Coming~!" So Euphemia had arrived; his plan could be put into action now.

He had noticed Allen and Euphie's lack of interaction since the dream curse, though he had to admit... he hadn't talked to her much since that time, either, but this wasn't about him! This was about Allen and Euphie's relationship~ And the wonderful curse going on that day. He couldn't help but grin as he bounded down the hallway and turned the corner to see--

Lelouch.

Only if someone happened to be looking very closely could they see the slight drop in his smile.

First to greet the guest. "Euphie~! Glad you could make it!" Then the other. "And Lelooouuuuch~ Wasn't expecting you." His smile didn't waver again, and neither did his cheery tone. He couldn't let Euphemia notice the tension that was oh-so obviously there between them.

He didn't miss the glances in the other two's expressions. Lelouch's own lips quirked into a bit of a smirk at seeing Lavi's and Allen's faces upon noticing Euphemia had brought along an unexpected visit. The chess set was tucked under his right arm, and the smirk faded as his dear sister mentioned it. Of course, he also gripped it a little tighter. It had been a gift, after all. Lelouch was to treasure it for as long as he was still able to...

Why she was even with him still was a curious thing, but one he was appreciative of. Looked like Allen's services wouldn't be needed after all. However, that might change. Lelouch thought it best to at least keep an eye on the two and have a semblance of politeness. Otherwise? He wouldn't really care. There wasn't anything to be gained from being so... Sociably otherwise.

Which was why he played his part well when addressing both boys. "Allen. Lavi. Hope you don't mind my intrusion."

Allen was a good actor as well. He let the two siblings in, closing the door behind him with a smile.

"Not at all, Lelouch! Make yourself at home, both of you! I'm not very skilled in chess, but Lavi's pretty smart! I'm sure he could provide a challenge!" he said. He took the tray of tea and carried it to the bigger-than-the-tiny-kitchen living room's coffee table. He then grabbed a cup and held it to his lips, hoping the warmth would shake the awkwardness he felt. Not that it showed as he looked back at the group. "How are you, Miss Euphie? Lelouch? Have you been well?"

[identity profile] the-lavster.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
He shook his head at Euphie's statement and the first words out of Lelouch's mouth. "It's fine. The more the merrier, yeah?" Oh, how he was almost certain he would be eating those words later.

Chess wasn't his forte, but... "Sure. I can try my hand at a game." Maybe. Man, how was he going to go through with his plan now, he wondered. He started to think of some way to get Lelouch away from them when Allen picked up a cup; those cups would make things difficult as well. He couldn't be forcing two people together when they were holding cups of hot tea.

It would be better to get them out of the way. So despite the fact that he wasn't thirsty or crazy for tea, he picked up a cup to drink from, anyway, after following his flatmate to the new location. He sipped away quietly while Allen politely asked how the two had been. Yeah, yeah, the usual...

Lelouch looked over to his sister. Oh he knew she was lying, even if the other two weren't quite certain of that little fact. There was only so much that he could do for her right now as it was. He felt horrible and just as guilty. Lelouch didn't really know what to do about the situation or how to act around her. It was... Painful.

Moving on to the here and now, though. His fingers brushed against the cup of tea in his hands. "I've been all right, all things considering."

That was his lie.

"Though Euphie's cooking might change that, even if she has gotten better at it."

And a joke.

[identity profile] clownsprout.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
The boy nodded to each of the Britannia siblings, hiding the slightest upturn of his lips behind his tea cup. It was a joke, what Lelouch had said, and Allen had nothing against teasing amongst brother and sister. However, it did seem a little rude to laugh at Euphie's supposed cooking skills. He wasn't surprised by it, though; members of royal families didn't need to cook. Smiling more politely now, he let the cup down from his lips.

"Surely you can't be any worse than I am, don't worry, Miss Euphie," he said, just in case Euphie did take offense. And it was true, his culinary skills left much to be desired...you could ask Kanda.

[identity profile] the-lavster.livejournal.com 2010-01-23 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Lavi didn't bother hiding his laugh at Lelouch's comment and Allen's response. Something else the boy and Euphemia had in common, though something told him Euphie might be a bit better. He doubted she would randomly add her favorite food to someone's order, should she ever take orders; then again, with her status... that wasn't likely.

"Trust me, Euphie-- if Lelouch here is sayin' you've gotten better and he's still givin' you lessons, I don't even have to compare your cooking with Allen's. I know you're not any worse than him."

[identity profile] wishsrequiem.livejournal.com 2010-01-23 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"I take it Allen's culinary work is in need of fine-tuning?"

Because of her statement, a slight huff escaped his own lips. Oh how he loathed sports. Not because of his lack of being able to compete, but rather any idiot with little to no brains could participate. There was no true skill when it came to them, but rather instinct. Lelouch always did prefer brains over brawn any day.

"Skipping gym class became a sport..."

Allen's lips were set in a small pout for a slight moment. Just because he admitted he was no good at making meals didn't mean he should get teased for it! It seemed that he wasn't the only target, however, and he laughed lightly at Lelouch's inability to play sports.

"Well, if we're going to say our faults, Lavi can't drive."

And yes, by drive, he was referring to Lavi's Innocence. The one that crashed into Jerry's room, and...was it a hospital? Not ignoring hospitality either, he set his tea down and stood up.

"Sure, I'll get sugar for you, Miss Euphie," and he set to heading for the kitchen.

[identity profile] the-lavster.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Lavi frowned, all humor momentarily gone from his face. "Hey, I've gotten better!" He had, really. He hadn't crashed into any buildings or destroyed anyone else's room in a while! But he didn't stifle his snickering at Lelouch, either. So it seemed he wasn't equally gifted when it came to brains and brawn; nice to know.

When Allen and Euphemia were both up, it took a mere moment for him to remember why they were all gathered (with the exception of her brother) in the first place. "Hey, wait," he called, getting up as well and darting past Euphie to catch Allen. He put his hands on the younger male's shoulders and forcefully turned him around to face her.

"You'll thank me for this later, I'm almost sure of it~" With a push, he shoved him at their female guest.

[identity profile] wishsrequiem.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Drive? Odd thing to say, but then again... Lelouch wasn't aware of what that would mean other than the norm. He brushed it off as nothing, keeping an eye on his sister and Walker heading into the kitchen. It wasn't until Lavi got up as well that he became suspicious. The moment Lavi had his hands on Euphemia, Lelouch was standing up and making his way over.

He had a vague idea what the guy had in mind and Lelouch was going to attempt to stop it.

But, luck was usually against him when it came to matters such as this. So instead of stopping Lavi in time, Lelouch tripped. Be it his own feet or something else was anyone's guess, but he was falling right towards Lavi.

[identity profile] clownsprout.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Allen couldn't help it. "L-Lavi, what the heck are you-AH!" He was caught off guard, and before he could push Lavi off of him, he found him in Euphemia's arms. He wrapped his own arms around her, in attempts to protect her should she be knocked over.

Once their bodies did balance, he tried to pull back.

...and again.

He face flushed, "T-The curse! I-I'm really sorry, Miss Euphie! LAVI. I SWEAR-..."

...And that's when Lelouch seemed to fly at Lavi.

This wasn't going to end well...

[identity profile] the-lavster.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately Lavi had no time at all to relish in the success of his plan when he saw Lelouch tumbling toward him. "NO--" In a quick effort to get out of the way, he turned to run, stepped on his own foot in the rush, causing his legs to tangle together, sending him crashing to the floor just as a certain someone collides with him.

And he falls, feeling a weight on top of him. On his back. A warm, heavy weight.

"..Please tell me that guy's not on top of me."

There was no feasible response Lelouch would be able to make. Part of him felt humiliated and the other was just teaming with rage that threatened to reach the surface. He made no attempt to get up, knowing full well he was stuck to the idiot beneath. Lelouch did not dare speak, knowing that it would be filled with curses inappropriate for his audience.

[identity profile] clownsprout.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Allen really didn't know how to react to this situation. He probably would have laughed at Lelouch and Lavi had he not been stuck to Euphemia, because, well, Lavi was an ass for that move and Lelouch...well, his opinion of Lelouch was worse than well. But that was not the case, and instead, Allen awkwardly looked away from everyone.

"That's what you get, Lavi."

[identity profile] the-lavster.livejournal.com 2010-01-25 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Lavi hated knowing he had a guy he didn't even like, and trusted even less, attached to him-- from behind, even. "Shut up, Allen," he muttered under his breath, not looking to meet anyone's eyes, especially not Lelouch's because that would have meant turning around and being like, right there.

Pushing himself up, he came to learn that the other male's arms were over his shoulders. It was an odd, highly uncomfortable position, and he had only one thing to say about it: "I... don't... swing that way!"
