When; TODAY!!1
Rating; I'unno. I don't think anything too bad will happen, BUT I COULD BE WRONG. :B
Characters; Hikaru Hitachiin [[livejournal.com profile] so_devilish] and Joshua Kiryu [[livejournal.com profile] ihasfeather]
Summary; Hikaru accepts a ~secret~ game that Joshua has come up with and has NO idea what he's getting himself into.
Log;

They were to meet by the merry-go-round at 3pm, a time Hikaru couldn't forget. 3pm was when he and the gang met up in the Music Room for the Host Club, so it stuck out.

Hikaru watched the merry-go-round, hands to his hips as he got somewhat lost in thought. What the hell was this game all about? And why did that bastard seem so confident that he'd win? Whatever it was, he hoped to win - of course - just like he always did. He didn't come here to lose! Honestly, he didn't even care about Joshua doing whatever he wanted for six months if he loses or cheats, considering he was sure to get bored with that very easily.

He grumbled under his breath, wondering if this was some sort of trick, like the ones he saw in the movies. But no matter - he was here now, and he came to win.

Funny thing, being a Composer. A lot of Joshua's powers were still intact. As it was, he wasn't too much worse than what he had restricted himself to during the time of the month long Game with Megumi. Of course, if he had wanted to use more than what his Vibe could handle at the moment, he would just have to revert to that Shadow City that existed in conjunction with this one.

Joshua was talking his time, coming into view of the merry-go-round and the twin that awaited. This wouldn't be the funnest game or the most interesting, but he could hardly pass up an opportunity to show someone where they were wrong. There were two types of being honest. Honest with others and then honest with yourself. Joshua, even with his limited interaction, was curious if Hikaru (and his brother) were really what they claimed to be over the network.

He had his doubts about that.

As the Composer neared the other, he lifted his hand in a wave. A pity, really. This kid didn't know what he was in for.

A slight giggle played through the air. Joshua took a strand of his hair between his fingers, twirling it a bit. While a smile formed on his features, those violet eyes looked rather bored.

"I told you, didn't I?" Maybe he sounded a bit too smug. "All I need is one minute and I can tell if you are an honest person or not. You don't have to do anything other than stand there and look pretty, Hikaru."

"If you're ready..."

Now the fun part. Joshua started his little process now. His analysis is pretty through. Since he manages an entire district of Tokyo, one single person to far too easy for him. But it looked as though Hikaru's Soul wasn't very refined. Such a small world. Very disappointing. Then again, he wasn't really all that surprised.

When he was done...

"Finished."

"You see... There are two types of honesty. There is being honest about others and then yourself."

Now he really did look smug. Joshua put his hands into his pockets with a giggle.

"Hitachiin Hikaru. You're actually a very closed-off person, aren't you? You may act and sound carefree on a lot of your network conversations, but isn't that a bit of a front? Until recently, I might say you were a bit of a paradox. You wanted people to be able to tell you apart from Kaoru, yet never really bothered to put in the effort for others to actually learn who you are separate from Kaoru, did you?"

Joshua took out a hand to tap a finger on his chin.

"You're actually pretty insecure about the whole reaching out bit, hmm? Can't say I blame you there. It leaves you quite exposed! You're doing a pretty good job, but becoming a better person isn't easy, is it?"

This time Joshua actually let out a little laugh. He dug out the little trinket he had been given.

"No, I didn't cheat. Just ask your brother. You can check if you like. But I know I'm right. Perhaps I should consider myself lucky not to be a victim of your temper? You really weren't kidding when you mentioned being blunt. Is Kaoru so forward like you are?"

Meanwhile he held it out for Hikaru to take.

"Go on. You can check all my conversations that I've had. With everyone. Even on the private settings. But is Kaoru aware that you mentally berated yourself for not considering how your brother might have felt about Haruhi? That fight must have been a real eye opener! Though how it took you that long to realize you had a crush is beyond me. How dense can you be for a teenage boy?"

Was he going to ignore the questions directed at him? Why yes, he was. Joshua's smile turned a little more amused. This was turning out to be mildly entertaining after all.

"Then there you have it. You are not a very honest person."

He wasn't about to mention how hypocritical he was being at the moment. Joshua had his own insecurities about, well, very much the same thing! Though he was aware of his need to change... He just wasn't sure how to go about doing it.

"But don't hurt yourself over it. You just need to include others in on your world. As Mr. H would put it, 'the world ends with you.' But... At least it's happening, even if you don't realize it."

"You're honest when your temper gets out of hand," Joshua sighed, looking bored once more. Again, he ignored the later half of that. This kid really was a complete idiot. Oh well... There might be some refining in his future.
