Summary; It's a Pharle's duty to supply the Magic Knights with weapons to fight.
Log;

There had been no more questions. They'd barely talked about it since it'd been decided.

Hikaru had carried with the responsibility of bringing the matter up with the mistress artisan, and Umi had refrained from making any further comments. However, as the three Knights followed the Pharle to the isolated place they had chosen for Presea to practice her art, the Knight of Water understood Fuu still shared her mild concern.

None of them wished for their friend to exhaust herself. Or to use too much of her soul like that one first time. It wasn't too hard a task. Presea needed but retrieve the weapons of the Magic Knights ---the ones that'd grown with their hearts all through their journey. It didn't involve reforging the Escudo swords for them.

But The City was tricky. They knew that much. The power a person used tired them more than usual. So the concern remained, even if hushed by the absolute confidence the girls had in Presea's powers.

This was a necessary test. It was part of a Pharle's duty, after all. And the weapons of the Magic Knights would be an invaluable asset to protecting their friends from the dangers of The City.

Presea, for her own part, was fully prepared and ready to attempt this task. When she'd gotten up this morning and put on her Pharle dress underneath her normal clothes, the brush of the fabric against her skin excited her. This was her job-- this was what she loved. And she'd do anything to help the Knights who had done so much for her and Cephiro.

She didn't expect difficulty. This might be a different world, but she considered the magic that she used on par with normal laws of physics. They didn't stop gravity here-- how could they stop her from retrieving something that she had put away, by right?

So she followed the Knights with confidence in her heart, not considering any consequences to her actions.

Hikaru knew the best place for this. She'd used it for something else before, so there was no question about privacy. Only one other person in the City knew this spot and she wasn't worried about it. So the fire knight led the group along to a secluded area of the beach, framed by the water's edge on one side and an overhanging rock face behind them with a large enough gap underneath to be an emergency shelter should anything happen in the City.

She wasn't worried about that so much as she was about what might happen to Presea. She'd never heard of anyone trying to retrieve anything from their home world without the deities' help, so she wasn't sure what could or would happen. Hikaru glanced at the artisan, worry in her eyes and then back ahead of her. She wouldn't let anything happen if she could help it.

In a place like the City, they would need all the help they can get. It was just but necessary to have something to defend themselves with, after all. Why with everything odd happening, may be they be spells or curses, Fuu knew they had to be ready. Treading along with her fellow Knights and Cephiro's celebrated artisan, the Wind Knight glanced between her comrades and the location Hikaru picked.

She didn't have to guess what her friends were thinking, and Fuu shared their sentiments. Together they were one. Together they would fight. She, for one, would make sure to tend to Presea if ever things won't work the way they wanted to. Even if healing magic won't be effective for this case, it didn't matter. Their presence as her friends count tenfold.

Determination showing past her smiling facade, Fuu followed.

Presea was already running through the spells in her mind-- not that much was required. She needed to concentrate more than anything, which was part of the reason she appreciated the deserted space. With the girls around to be a focus, as well, she felt like she could do this. And she'd regret it, she was positive, if she didn't try with everything she had.

So she turned to give each of the Knights a smile in turn, trying to seem reassuring. They shouldn't worry about her.

Presea considered the question as she removed her outer layer of clothing, revealing the white gauzy form of her special Pharle uniform. Finally, she shook her head and smiled at Umi.

"Just stand back!" she said, grinning.

She stepped out into the middle of the space and lifted her arms above her head, shutting her eyes in concentration. Then she-- well, she reached in a way that wasn't physical, her hands reaching between planes for the familiar cool brush of metal. It wasn't easy, or perhaps it was best to say it was harder than usual. The trick required a certain amount of will and the knowing of her craft, but today the air that should part like a cloud was harder, rubbery. It was as the Knights had told her it might be-- the City kept a barrier against such actions that would let someone return to their home.

But this wasn't exactly going home. She didn't know where exactly Pharle space existed, but she'd always been able to access it after she was taught how, no matter where she was on Cephiro. It was a part of her, of her magic, she thought, and it was with this idea that she strained herself, pushing hard against the barrier, trying to communicate to it what exactly she was trying to do, and how much will she would spend to do it. She poured herself into the action, feeling her legs grow shaky, her vision dimming with her concentration, but she was unwilling to budge. She was going to do this.

And finally there was a pop, or perhaps a slide, and her fingers skimmed across the barrier and in, and there! She knew that texture. She pulled the swords free carefully, biting her lip, her movements slow but certain. She wanted to do this properly. She got the impression that she wouldn't be able to do it here again in this City. Once, they had granted her, but that was all.

She felt triumph as the weapons found their way into the Knights' hands. Thus satisfied, she decided it might be prudent to sit down for a moment. That had taken a great deal of her will and she was breathing as hard as if she'd ran a race. Sitting was a good idea. Much better than actually falling.

The sword that Fuu haven't held for so long felt foreign in her hands for a fleeting moment. It didn't take long before the weapon became a part of herself again, an extension of her very existence. It felt light as a feather, as it should be despite its length that at first astounded her. Her grip sent a wave of familiarity throughout her system and she felt like she grew another arm. The armament wasn't a mere tool anymore but a part of a courageous girl's being.

And she could feel a sudden wave of energy pulsing from her veins to the sword, as if swinging it would send tornadoes in a swift whoosh.

Although, all these overwhelming sensations were drowned by the sight that paled in comparison to every energy she could now grasp. Presea looked exhausted and the Wind Knight couldn't help but rush to her side immediately, carrying her sword with her in haste. It didn't matter whether she got her weapon or not, her comrade's well-being was still top priority.

"Presea, are you okay?"

Presea looked up at Fuu a little blearily. "I just need a moment," she said, panting. It wasn't as if she'd never stretched herself a little far before; in fact, it was one of her worst habits. Sometimes her over-enthusiasm resulted in something like this. But she'd be all right, she thought. She just had to catch her breath.

Presea managed a smile. "Of course. Am I the Pharle or what?" It was a cheeky smile, even, though her body wasn't as confident as her voice. Still, the headache was already beginning to fade, and her legs would stop being so shaky soon. After a good rest, she'd be fine again. This was something she was honestly thankful for. She didn't want the Knights to worry about her too much.

"Use them well," she said to the girls around her. "They are your special weapons, after all."

Hikaru had watched with bated breath, silence the only thing around her. She believed in Presea, believed in their strength together. The faith she had for the artisan overcame any worry she had for her; Presea knew what she was doing. There was no doubt of that, even as Hikaru saw Presea reaching.

And it wasn't long before the knight was granted with a fiery warmth in her hands. It seemed like only days before when this sword was in the City last, yet it felt like a lifetime ago. Her grip tightened around it, feeling the red aura pour into her from the hilt. Yes, this was her sword. She was almost overcome with the feeling when she remembered Presea and was at her side instantly.

"You were really amazing, Presea. Thank you." She hoped the tone of her voice let Presea know how thankful she was for her efforts.

"Of course, Hikaru," Presea said, her voice soft with affection. The feel of their magic around her was really thanks enough. Now they could all be safer in the City. This was one step in the right direction.

With that thought, she pulled herself to her feet. It wasn't as hard as she thought it might be, though she was probably going to go home and go back to bed for a while, regardless, feeling her weariness. But she and they would go home triumphant, and that made Presea almost happy enough to dance.
