[Euphie walks around the table another time, not really being helpful, but wanting to help as Lelouch busies himself with the arrangements.] He should be here soon.

I wonder what he prefers to drink. Do you think juice or water? I suppose I can ask once he arrives. Oh, or maybe wine. Do we have wine? [She may be just a little nervous.]

[ He is all really passive about this. Lelouch could really care less that Suzaku would be joining them. Sure, the person is his best friend, but the one that is here isn't the same one. He will be, eventually, but that is not now. At the current moment, Suzaku considered Lelouch an enemy. Lelouch can live with that.

However, he is still working in the kitchen, apron and all. Listening to Euphemia go around in a fluster. It is sort of adorable, in a sibling way.]

I have tea preparing, Euphemia. Though if he really wants wine, then I suppose you can fetch it when he comes in.

Tea! [Proclaimed as if Lelouch had just said something brilliant, because in the moment that's exactly what it seemed to her.] That's perfect.

[Turns and smiles at her brother.] Thank you again for doing all this. [Actually, it deserves a kiss on the cheek, doesn't it? So, she heads over to do just that, careful to stay away from anything hot on the stove.]

[ KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. he's put on his amiable face for this occasion, but inside, he's irritated and uncomfortable. it'd be different if Euphie weren't there, because he'd certainly be able to have words with Lelouch like he would've before he arrived.

but he can play the pretending game. he's good at it. sorta. ]

[Of course it's a good idea. Japanese like tea too, after all. All he does is chuckle lightly at her. His expression softens a bit with the quick peck to his cheek.]

You don't need to thank me for it, Euphie. We're all friends here.

[That might be a little bit of a lie, but he can't reflect too much on it as his ear picks up the knock at the door.]

Be a good girl and get that while I set everything up.

[Already on her way, but she throws Lelouch a smile over her shoulder before pulling the door open and smiling brightly at their guest.] Good evening, Suzaku. [She steps back to give him room.] Please come in.

Everything should be ready soon.

[ it's a little hard to not smile back with a fair amount of force when Euphie opens the door - despite the uncomfortable situation, he is happy to see her. ]

Hello, Euphie.

[ he steps inside as he's told and out of his shoes, then away from the door to look around a little. ]

I hope I'm not early.

[ Of course he is paying attention to their conversation. Lelouch doesn't utter a word. Instead he busies himself with setting the table as well as placing each dish on there. ]

You're right on time. [And the princess will be taking your hand now, Suzaku, to lead you to the table.] Lelouch, Suzaku is here. [As if he wouldn't be perfectly aware of that fact since he was the only one invited and it wasn't far from door to table.]

Oh, do you like tea, Suzaku?

[ puts on a nice face for Lelouch, nodding to him once they're in the same room. and also to the question. ]

I can see that, Euphie.

[He keeps his smile warm, even as Suzaku enters. It's not an act this time, as there is no reason to be hostile. Lelouch does not hate his friend, the feelings of betrayal and anger long buried and rid of. Now that everything is set, Lelouch removes his apron and puts it away.]

Go on and take a seat. I'll be right there.

[Of course what he is doing is pouring a cup of tea for everyone before he actually sits down.]

[She pulls out a chair for herself and gestures for Suzaku to do the same.] So, where are you staying? Do you have any roommates yet?

[ pulls out a chair, waiting for Euphie to sit before he does, himself. manners, yanno. ]

[ ...ands let's pretend he explains where he's staying kljs because I am an idiot and still have to work that out. ] I'm staying by myself for now.

[Will just be raising an eyebrow at the other.]

Best not do that for too long.

Lelouch is right. The ticking must be awful.

You know... [It isn't the first time she has invited someone to stay with them. Zack was their guest for a few days. But it is different with Suzaku. She feels a little nervous.] We do have an extra room here.

[ shakes his head at the ticking -- he can live with it. ] It's--

[ oh. frowns a little, looking from Euphie to Lelouch (and frowning just a little more), then back again. ] I... wouldn't want to impose on the two of you.

[Not really amused. He's cooked a meal. Enjoy it instead of dwelling on all of this now. Lelouch knows what is going through Suzaku's mind. His own gaze darkens a bit before turning back into a rather polite one.]

It wouldn't be imposing. You're my friend and Euphie's knight, so how would it be a burden.

[Shrugs. Speaks somewhat cryptically.]

If you're worried about me, I do have a part-time job. You won't be seeing my face all that often.

[Yes. He said it.]

[And that earns Lelouch a confused look. Why would Suzaku be concerned about that?

How were things left with them after the SAZ? Confusion turns to worry and she forgets to chime in with her agreement.]

[ his brow furrows, watching Euphie's reaction, but he makes it out to be confusion as well and forces out a laugh. ]

That's not what I'm worried about at all, Lelouch.

Then you have no real reason to not be here.

[Confident smile. Caught in his trap yet, Suzaku?]

[Relaxes a little and regains her smile] Yes, it would be nice having you here. [Still feeling nervous about it though. Living with Suzaku... ~~He'd see her in her night clothes.~~]

[ damn you Lelouch. clears his throat... then decides not to answer him and just addresses Euphie instead. ]

Are you sure it'd be alright?

[JUST AS PLANNED. Anyway, he doesn't know about those two, but he is sitting down and going to at least enjoy the tea he made.]

[She gives Suzaku a warm smile] Of course it would. You can even move in tonight. [Glances over at Lelouch with a smile] After dinner of course.

[ unsure, but nods to the last bit. after dinner, yes. it'll give him more time to think. ] Ah, maybe so. I don't have much to bring with me.

None of us did.

[Very upfront about that. He had arrived here in just his clothing, after all.]

Then it should go quickly. I can help, since Lelouch can't carry very much. [Teasing]
