[ log ] [ closed ] the cake is a lie
When; March 19, evening
Rating; PG
Characters; Flynn Scifo [
srslynotguy ] & Yuri Lowell [
notflynn ]
Summary; A reunion made for the kitchen.
Log;
Five whole days from Monday, the fifteenth of March; that was how long Yuri'd been gone for. Since then, theshotahouse whole household had gone on without Yuri's cooking. It was an inconvenience, for sure, and moreso since Yuri'd become the unspoken King of Breakfast: their handy crepemaker in the early mornings. However, they really couldn't blame Yuri- no Flynn couldn't blame Yuri for running out on them like he did. A part of Flynn had wanted to yell at Yuri for doing that, since it was... a part of him sincerely thought it was stupid- and it was the curse! But that was just a small part of him. Flynn was no fool to think that it wasn't his fault, even if he had wanted to believe so. There was that time before the end of the year when those strange shrubberies compelled anyone beneath them to turn into these incorrigible kissing monsters. Even then, he'd shared a kiss- a passionate one too! - with Ino but circumstances had certainly been different then. For one, Flynn was sure - or at least he believed so - that things hadn't quite gotten intimate between Yuri and Ino. At that time, Ino had been merely someone Yuri had had feelings for but wasn't in any proper relationship with. What happened on Monday... was bad.
Flynn sighed as he mixed in some ░▓▒█▓ ( it was supposed to make it sweeter than usual, kind of like chocolate chips ) in the batter he was working on. He followed it with some ░█▓█▓▒ - they were on discount and Flynn thought why not? - before finally placing the bowl on the counter. As he went on to check the oven, he found himself thinking again. Ever since Yuri quit the knights, Flynn had gotten used to not being around Yuri for long periods of time. Work here, work there, Yuri in jail, Yuri in trouble, Yuri on the run- It was always one thing or another that kept them apart. And even just months ago, when they were still in Terca Lumireis - the events after Zaude aside - he'd spent a while apart from Yuri and on bad terms too. All that was different, however, because... all that was Yuri's fault! Mostly, anyway. Or half of it. This, however, was wholly his fault. He was the one who had slipped his hand into something he shouldn't have!
He had been such a fool.
With this thought in mind, he turned to look at the oven... and then the bowl with his cake batter. Time to pour it in the cake pan.
But... not before some ░▓▒█▓▒█▓▒█. There, perfect! The cake should be something the whole household can enjoy in Yuri's absence. They'd managed to keep him away from the kitchen all this time; waking up extra early and purposely going into the kitchen before he could but tonight, Flynn was able to take over without fail. He promised himself he would make up for not being able to fill in Yuri's duties in his absence through this cake he was baking.
Somehow, this was to be his... consolation for the whole household.
