Log // Ongoing // Closed

When; Tuesday, March 23rd, 6:00 P.M. I'm...reeeeally slow.
Rating; P...G? I suck with ratings, guys, give me a break.
Characters; Chris Skelton, Penny Has-No-Last-Name-And-If-There's-A-Sequel-They-Had-Better-Rectify-That-Somehow
Summary; Chris asked Penny out on a date to the Lux! Awww? It's the only place he sort of KNOWS, and really, they should be going to the Blue Light, but....awkwardness, hurrah?
Log; It was a bit fancier here than Chris remembered vaguely from the curse. If he knew any pubs, he might have rathered...but no backing off from it now. Finally, that whole Master business was, if not solved, at least done with and the concept of distraction was very welcome to him. He hovered around the outside of the building, waiting for Penny to arrive. He'd checked inside already and now, well. Penny would be here soonish, right?

I have a last name for her! I just... you know, the minute I use it, Joss will give her one.

The Lux was ritzier than Penny had been expecting. Should she have worn something dressier? It had been well over a year since her last real date; the proper protocol escaped her and it had been simplest to head straight to the Lux from the Welcome Center.

She was slightly late. Hopefully Chris wouldn't be upset. Penny saw him just outside of the Lux and waved him down. "Chris! Hey!"

Definitely not upset, then. "Why're you sorry? It's great." And it helped that Chris was also in relatively casual work clothes. Comfort in numbers. Penny opened the door to head in. "I hope you weren't waiting too long."

"Good... thank you," Penny replied. She followed him in, trying to dismiss first-date jitters. A date with someone normal... there was a novelty! Chris wasn't a superhero, a mad scientist, a homeless person, or an incredibly desperate man who lived in his mother's basement, which made this date thing rather unusual for Penny. She could handle nice and normal. Maybe. Hopefully. "The big crowds don't usually come out until later, huh?"

Manners? Since when do guys have manners? Penny sat, thoroughly impressed. Chris was either really thoughtful--which would make sense--or his time period was a much better time for chivalry. Maybe both. "Thank you.

"We can always hang out and see what happens... make a break for it if it gets too fancy." He really was adorable. No one had ever offered to fetch a drink for her before. Penny glanced at the drink menu on the table, realized how long it had been since she'd had anything to drink at a bar and how little she knew about the drinks listed, and replied, "I'd like that... I mean, if it's no trouble."

"I'm sure no one'll mind us," she replied, quite confident in their collective inoffensiveness.

Penny glanced from the menu to Chris and gave up trying to remember what drinks she liked. "Nope! Just whatever you think is good... and whatever isn't too expensive."

Penny's knowledge of bird-drinks was limited to 'most of them have paper umbrellas in them.' The shandy didn't look girly so much as... beery, but Penny wasn't entirely against beerish drinks. "Thanks, Chris," she said, taking a tentative sip. Not bad.

She looked at him quizzically. "I definitely don't hate it. Is licorice a big thing where you're from?"
