LOG: ONGOING [The Square]

When; May 14, around 9:00pm EST
Rating; G to R?!
Characters; everyone
Summary; What happens after the sheep round up in The Square? Find out below the cut!
Log;

MAYHEM MUST BE STOPPED AND THIS IS HOW TO DO IT.

Lina cracks many a hearty riding crop.

Sabine wields a sweet and sensuous scythe.

Bertol bashes with rock hard bones.

Laszlo herds with hellish hounds at the sound of a whistle.

And Mouse controls an unbreakable electrical fence.

Tonight this is the scene the City's Deities stage for their wonderful citizenry in The Square. Sheep--WANTED WANTED WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE--are forced into an electrically fenced pen around the Carousel. Why yes, that means the Carousel is inside the enclosure too! Citizens are not allowed to cross the fence, don't even touch it or get ready for a terrible ZAP, but they're more than welcome to watch the show as the Deities suffer no fools while piling sheep brought to them in the center. What about the creepy sheepy masked villainess? Recognize her mask hanging from the top of the Carousel? Oh yes, she's being "taken care of"...

Now what does this amount to? Well well well! At nine o'clock the Deities tell their darling citizens to stand back, step away from the fence, and have some popcorn with your...well, whatever. If no one's ever seen the Carousel in pieces tonight is the night to be in The Square. On the dot the Carousel parts into twelve even slices, gears a'plenty, separating from the center to reveal a black abyss, otherwise known as a sink hole, underneath. And from the unseen darkest bottom of the pit echoes a mother's call. Predictably, the sheep--WANTED WANTED WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE--throw themselves over the edge to be with their Shepherdess. The dead ones get a free toss into the hole courtesy of the City's Sanitation Department. Once the pen has been emptied into the pit the Carousel slices comes back together again, sealing the hole as if nothing had ever ever been there...except for evidence of blood stains of course.

Wait! There's more! Not but one minute after sealing the hole shut, the entire City begins to quake, rattling books off the shelves, plates off the tables, and some Citizens off their feet.

KABOOM!

The Mountain erupts, blasting something into the air. From the ground or sea level it looks a lot like snowflakes, doesn't it? Hopefully Citizens allergic to tiny bits of wool stay indoors. The Mountain coughs up all the wool within seconds before settling again, leaving the City with a nice woolly layer of "snowfall"...

[ooc: This is a log for anyone who wants to play out meeting other characters in The Square while bringing their sheep to the pen or just watching or even talking to a Deity! Label threads accordingly (open, to [name here], before 9pm, after 9pm etc.) and have fun! As mentioned in the plot post, characters that were infected or killed by the sheep will be cured/alive again on May 15. You are more than welcome to have them wake up in a cursed state in order to bridge this plot with Grab Bag Weekend. Rabid sheep not brought to The Square will fall dead wherever they are as soon as the sink hole closes.]

This would be Dean herding sheep into the garden with yes a flame thrower. Some of the sheep are on fire.

Possibly some of the plants in the garden.

Oops?

"Yippie Kayee motherfucker!"

Oh yeah. Bruce Willis wishes he were as awesome as Dean.

Laszlo!

Depends on whether you flinch or not and how flammable you are.

It takes a lot of make me flinch.

And I'd be surprised if I'm flammable at my age.

[Here be Barnabas herding his gathered woolies into the pen. He's not wasting any time nicely talking to them (forget "Baa Ram Ewe"), it's all BARK-BARK-BARK.]

Sylar was at the Square way before the 9pm start time, telekinetically gesturing a rather giant ball of sheep into the square- all dead, and many in several pieces. Then he waited, his arms crossed and his face serious. He'd long since tired of slicing up sheep and was ready for them to be out of here.

He kept a close eye on everything going on inside the fence. And, well, he wasn't disappointed. As he watched the Carousel divide itself, he wished he had a camera. Then he remembered what happened to the last camera they'd taken down to the Clock and figured it'd be a waste of time. So he'll just try to recall all of it as best he can, every beautiful moment of the Carousel coming apart and moving back together.

After the whole thing closes and the mountain erupts, he figures the show is over. Now is the time for ice cream. He'll be wandering around, trying to find an open business that'll sell him some.

[After all the events of the past week, Rosella has more than had her fill of staying on the sidelines while others are in danger. There's no telling quite what will happen when all the sheep are eventually brought to the Square, but it's clear that the Deities have something up their sleeves, and whatever it is, she wants to witness it firsthand--and be ready to head off any new calamity at its inception, rather than waiting to hear about it secondhand on the Network.

She knows that going to the Square will almost certainly be dangerous, and she has not come unprepared; her quiver is fully stocked, her bow is ready at a moment's notice, and her few magical defenses are all tucked securely into her pockets. And yet, the whole way there, the few sheep she does encounter all seem to leave her alone.

Now, she stands at the outskirts of the Square, watching the spectacle unfold as the clock ticks ever closer to nine o'clock. The sight is more than enough to turn her stomach, but not enough to persuade her to leave. For now, she will remain firm and watch.]

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2010-05-15 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I know. The last time we saw all of them together, they were trying to patch up holes in the sky. I don't know if any good will come of this or not.

But, oddly, it seems like we're all on the same side this time. And, stranger still, we're all fighting for the City.

And fighting against that woman, really. She never did say what she wanted from it all--at least not to me. But it seems that regardless of what it was, she's still lost.

I think she wanted revenge. I'm not the only one to notice how the sheep seemed to seek out those who'd sacrificed lambs last month.

They may have been her lambs that we killed.

But whether she's some outsider or whether she's someone who outranks the 'deities', I don't know.

When Adrian Veidt is dressed for an occasion it really only means he's wearing his disguise; a handsome tailored suit cut to his figure in the darkest purple hue. Some call it overdone arrogance, others call it fagging as the Comedian would put it. To Adrian--Ozymandias--it's hiding in plain sight. And still there are those who may not notice him at all. But here, Adrian notices Sylar.

"Did you arrive before the first Act," he asks without greeting.

At least this time it makes some semblance of sense.

[She laughs softly, but it comes out surprisingly bitter.]

Even if they're against her personally, the deities must be overjoyed at all the misery that woman and this week have created for them.

"It was quite the show," Sylar replies, looking up at all the wool still coming down. It'll probably do this for awhile, he's guessing.

"Either the deities really want us to think that wasn't their fault, or something actually did come in from 'outside'." And maybe that's not a bad thing, but Sylar really did not care for the Shepherdess.

[Xemnas has no real desire to herd sheep - he's far too proud to stoop to such things - but he can't deny being interested in the goings on around the Carousel all the same. It's one of the few things he has left, and every snippet of truth revealed about the City could be the key to his theories.

He is not, of course, unarmed. His weapons are, as always, just a thought away should any wayward sheep decide to see what he tastes like. But until that happens, he simply waits in the silence and watches.

"Judging from this place's history, it wouldn't be a first. It may as well have been a demonstration of how they take care of invaders, the curious part being they gave us their show. Not the outside and whatever lives there," he says to Sylar, half musing aloud. Adrian has always wondered what space there is between the barrier and their worlds, if there is a space at all.

"It always seems to be a show," Sylar notes. "And we're always the audience. Maybe it's a perspective thing," he adds with a shrug.

He looks over at the man, giving him a small smile. "I'm Gabriel Sylar, by the way. If you didn't know already."

"If they're an Olympian class in any way, part of their livelihood rests in the attention," Adrian remarks and his tone is almost humorous despite what truth there might be in his words. "Adrian Veidt," he offers. He doesn't say he's seen Sylar around but he won't deny it if it comes up either.

"Nice to meet you, Adrian Veidt," he replies, sticking his hand in his pockets. "And that might be a good guess. I know for awhile people thought that our emotions were the fuel that ran the Clock itself. I doubt that's the case, but they must get something out of having us all here, you'd think. Otherwise, why go to the trouble?"

"The pleasure is mine," he counters easily before turning his gaze to the Fountain, the Carousel, all the landmarks of the center of the City that on any other given day would appear spotless. Immaculate, almost.

"I don't believe that either," Adrian shakes his head in agreement with Sylar, then he shifts his gaze onto the other man. "Ego or pride. They claim they made this world and who wouldn't want to take pride in their empire?"
