When; Monday (June 14), 2:00
Rating; PG, PG-13 at the most for Laurie's mouth
Characters; Laurie Juspeczyk and Tony Stark
Summary; Tony Stark's weaponry piques Laurie's interests. She's wondering if he could make her a gun that's fast enough to handle a certain someone from her world.
Log;
Laurie had been meaning to get herself a better weapon after her failed assassination attempt towards Adrian. In fact, she had been meaning to carry around better weaponry for awhile now, to go along with her want to change her costume into something more practical. Latex was not practical, carrying weapons when you plan on doing dangerous shit was practical. Blake had offered her weapons back when the Top Knots were in town, but Laurie turned that offer down considering, well, she hated being around that bastard.
So when Tony Stark made that announcement of his, there was no doubt that Laurie would be interested. No normal weapon could possibly take down the one man she'd want to take down. She needed something more high-tech, something made by someone who knew what he was doing. And as arrogant and as cocky as Stark came across, Laurie knew that asking him to make her a special gun, fast enough to take down the fastest man alive if there was ever another opportunity, would be better than buying a gun from any old dealership.
Laurie's dressed for summer weather, sporting a skirt and a red blouse. Nothing too fancy, but she wasn't going enter some high-tech office building looking like a slob. She wanted to look presentable, trustworthy, though she doubted that Stark wouldn't trust her with one of his weapons. Though...she might not be able to afford it, considering she still had no job.
Maybe there was a way to take some of Dan's money without him noticing...
She enters City Solutions, not bothering to marvel at the building's interesting design. She walks with confidence and a purpose, removing her sunglasses as she heads towards Stark's office. She reaches his door, and knocks on it, not wanting to just barge in like some foolish idiot.

"Thank you JARVIS," Tony responds to the computer. "Come in, Ms Juspeczyk," he says as he gets up from his desk and moves toward the door to greet her.

"So I finally get to meet the Tony Stark in person." Laurie honestly never heard about Tony Stark prior to her chats with him, but having known her fair share of enterprise owners (okay, only one), she knew that they liked having their names known.
After all, Veidt threw his name on practically every product he produced.

Tony is no different than Veidt in the fact that he does like being known. It's good for his ego. He chuckles at Laurie's comment. "Well I'm told there's more than one of me. Apparently if you've been here long enough you would have known the other Tony Stark who's very little like me."
Well...maybe not every product but Tony's guilty of that as well.

"I've only been here for a few months," a few very long months, but from what Dan has told her...she hadn't been here for all too long, "And I've certainly never met anyone like you."
She sits herself down and casually crosses her legs, wondering how long they'd have to keep this chit chat up before she could start talking business.
no subject
Luckily she doesn't have to wait long to start talking business. Tony's busy and he doesn't mind the company of a pretty woman but this is work time and not personal time.
"So you want a gun for protection. Who's after you that the kind you buy in a gun store wouldn't work?"

But that still didn't stop her from being wary of Adrian, especially after her attempt to kill him after hearing about what went on in her world. She wasn't wary of Eddie, though; the animosity between them was one-sided, with Laurie being the vicious one. Eddie wouldn't dare hurt her, she knew that. She hated that she knew that.
Nevertheless..."The fastest man in the world," she says simply, placing a strand of hair behind her ear innocently. "With the gun I have, I'd be fucked if I ever found myself getting into a fight with him."
And she had been, though she was the one who initiated the fight.

⌈Of course, Mr. Stark.⌋

"I want something that he can't dodge, but I'm afraid I can't give you his exact...'measurements'."

"Alright. I'll start with arc reactor energy, see how fast I can get it and let you know. Do you expect to need more than 10 rounds or so? I may have to make arc reactor cartridges for you."
no subject
"I don't think I'd need that much, though I guess it couldn't hurt if it's not too hard for you." What's the harm in having more than she needed? All she really needed was one shot to take out Adrian and knock him off his high-horse, but she had been meaning to get herself a better weapon for the sake of more-efficient fighting style.
In case the Top Knots ever showed their faces again.
She smiles. "Thank you though, I hope I wasn't too much trouble with my request."
no subject
"No. In fact it'll be interesting. I've never tried putting this energy into a gun. I'll have to do speed tests but I believe this will satisfy your needs."
He pauses, watching her carefully for a moment. "I assume the fastest man in the world has a personal vendetta against you for some reason."
no subject
She smirks knowingly. More like she has a vendetta against him, but why not? She didn't want to seem like a homicidal maniac...she wasn't. But Laurie wasn't exactly in the mood to explain why her vendetta against Adrian is justified, so pretending Adrian's planning something to off her is just as good.
And who knows, maybe he will.
"Not just me, but I'm the only one without a decent weapon."
no subject
"Who is this person with the vendetta against you? As a local vigilante I sort of feel responsible for knowing things like that."
no subject
and Blake. They were all from the same world, they all knew what Adrian had done, and all were hesitant to tell anyone about it. At least, Laurie was, as vocal as a woman she is.It's easy to say 'don't trust Adrian Veidt', but she had a feeling this was different.
"Then as a vigilante, you'd understand that I'm in no position to tell you just yet."
no subject
"Alright but be aware if I feel like you're using my technology poorly, I'll repossess it."
Yes this does mean he'll be keeping his eye on you, Laurie.
