Log;
Adjusting to a new place like The City is bad enough, but doing so when you've just been brought back to life is utterly disorienting. Godric has only just begun settling in, and there's much to see. That's why Godric suggested exploring the woods. It will help him get his bearings as well as help him relax.

At the moment, he's making a game of climbing the tallest trees he can find to see what he can see.

Eric was more than happy to accompany Godric to the woods when he suggested it. He'd spent most of his time in the club lately and hadn't bothered exploring much of the City at all. It reminded him of old times, in a way, being on his own with his maker.

He was even enjoying the tree climbing. And even though he wasn't as fast as Godric, he kept up well enough.

Well, this place was bigger than Eric imagined, that was for sure. He too peered at the lake in the distance. "Thinking of taking a swim?"

Eric chuckled. It was good to see Godric smile again, since there hadn't been much of that going on in Dallas.

"I take it you also want to race there don't you?" he said, with a half grin. Eric knew he couldn't beat Godric, but that wasn't the point of running. Eric would pretty much do anything his maker wanted.

Eric grinned. He should've expected Godric to take off without warning, but it didn't take long to catch up to him. He knew Godric was going slower for him, not that he minded really. That was part of the challenge anyway, to see if he could beat him. More often than not, though, he still lost.

Eric definitely would cheat a little if he could catch up. Unfortunately, he never got the chance before they reached the lake. Eric stopped running once he got to the water's edge.

"Just like old times," he commented.

Eric followed Godric's lead, removing his jacket and tank top. He then started to wade in the water, going far enough so that the water was waist high. The chill of the water didn't bother him, of course. He waited for Godric to join him before he started swimming.

Eric dove under the water immediately. He paddled and kicked his legs in a practiced manner that propelled him farther down. He only looked for Godric once, mostly concentrating on beating him this time.

They'd been under the water for a lot longer than any human could stand and still be alive. It was a good thing vampires didn't need air. Eventually Eric spotted something that could barely be made out in the dark depths. He couldn't tell exactly what he was seeing at this distance though. He would have better luck during the day, if it weren't for that pesky sunlight problem.

Eric stopped when he was prompted to and watched Godric for their next move. He wondered what could possibly be down this far in the lake and then he remembered that this was part of the City, so anything could be lurking there.

With a nod, Eric swam off in the direction Godric had pointed out to him. As he got closer the obstruction in the water became more visible and what he saw was moss covered columns, and cavern-like openings. He didn't quite know what to make of it.

There were quite a few fish that had decided to make the ruins their home. They flitted past Eric quickly, choosing not to be in his way. He had no idea what civilization decided to build this structure, but they had to have died out years ago if this was what remained.

Eric had no idea what might be swimming toward his maker. He was exploring one of the homes, not making any real note of the objects that remained. He doubted there would be anything of value left in there anyway. He was on his way out of the sunken house when he caught a glimpse of a large tail out of the corner of his eye. When he turned to look at it, however, it was gone.

After seeing the tail, Eric thought it best to go an find Godric. They might as well keep together if there was possibly a carnivorous creature in the water. Eric stayed out of more open areas and kept to the sides along the walls of the buildings. He swam as fast as he could without drawing attention to himself, in order to locate Godric.
