When; June 22nd, night
Rating; PG (probably)
Characters;
faderbroderson,
vikingvampire
Summary; Godric and Eric decide to explore the wilds.
Log;
Adjusting to a new place like The City is bad enough, but doing so when you've just been brought back to life is utterly disorienting. Godric has only just begun settling in, and there's much to see. That's why Godric suggested exploring the woods. It will help him get his bearings as well as help him relax.
At the moment, he's making a game of climbing the tallest trees he can find to see what he can see.

He was even enjoying the tree climbing. And even though he wasn't as fast as Godric, he kept up well enough.

"It looks like there's a lake. A large one."

"Why not?" It wasn't as if they had anything pressing to accomplish, and Godric hadn't had a good swim in a while.

"I take it you also want to race there don't you?" he said, with a half grin. Eric knew he couldn't beat Godric, but that wasn't the point of running. Eric would pretty much do anything his maker wanted.

"Just like old times," he commented.

"Shall we test the water?" The answer is obviously 'yes,' since he's already stripping off his shirt, eager to wade in. Here, in a strange new place with no responsibilities, he feels more lighthearted than he has in a long time. Unfortunately, he knows if he stops too long and thinks too much, the melancholy will have a chance to seep back in, so he's distracting himself as long as he can.

"Race you to the bottom?" Unlike running, swimming was a more equal race. Godric was stronger, but Eric was much larger, with larger hands and longer legs that helped him displace the water more easily. There was no telling who would win.

Carefully, Godric began moving again, keeping to shelter wherever he could. The shadow was still moving, but didn't yet seem intent on anything, which meant he hadn't yet been spotted. Good.
