Summary;  The slug that was controlling Tyr has been killed. It's time to take Tyr home.
Log; Connell was following right behind Tyr, alongside Riou, as they walked back to their apartment. It had been an incredibly long day... and the sun has even yet to set. It had been deadly silent during their walk.

They were all equally tired... hurt. Not even one day is enough for all of them to recover, but Connell remained strong as much as he could. He glanced at Riou, then at Tyr, and finally down his feet. He felt another small sniffle escape him.

He can't help to move his two hands to hold each one of Tyr's and Riou's hands. Maybe a little tightly.

Tyr was lost in his thoughts as he walked away from the dig site - leaving Yuri behind with Shing - but there was a pain following him that had nothing to do with the injuries he received in the time the slug controlled him. It was an almost familiar pain, the sort he knew how to push aside from long ago. There was just a blank, sort-of sad look on his face to hide the extent of his feelings. But then, he didn't really know how he felt at this point... All he could do was swallow a few times, glad he could do so. He didn't want to think about everything that had happen in that past month now, though. Even without the need to, he didn't want to show that weaker side.

But with Connell's hand going to hold one of his... After all he did, it would be wrong to deny him. Slowly, he let his finger's curl around Connell's hand as well. He didn't spare a look to him, though, or say a word. No, this former leader was back to his usual, silent self.

When Connell moved to hold his hand, Riou was hit with a sense of nostalgia. Walking back home like this, the three of them, and after all that had happened in the dig site, Riou thought; wasn't all of this familiar?

He smiled back at Connell and returned that grip, before turning to look at Tyr. Hit with an idea suddenly, Riou stopped walking and stood. He extended a hand for Tyr to hold.

He renewed that smile. He wanted to express how happy he was that it was all over again, and that they should be back to normal now.

Meeting their eyes after all that happened - after everything he said - wasn't easy. He stopped with Riou and, well, Riou deserved the same as Connell. Maybe more, for all the memories he must have brought up. He gripped that hand as well, his head bowed, and gave it a small squeeze just to say "Sorry".

Their shirts. They were in a little circle together, and all Tyr could look at were their shirts. He didn't look at the expressions on their faces, but he could guess them well enough. Tyr knew they would forgive him; their hands said as much, he thought But even knowing it hadn't been his fault - things like that happened enough in the war that he shouldn't feel guilt - but it was there still. In his own mind, he should have been able to stop it. At least, the Soul Eater shouldn't have...

His mouth was pulled into a straight line, biting the inside of his lip. He should give some type of apology anyway, shouldn't he? But... Tyr remained silent.

Riou shook his head, gave Connell a look, and then stepped closer so that their circle became smaller. It was true, despite all that Tyr could have done, Riou couldn't fault, or even look at him differently. It was a relief, in more ways than one. Not only because it was for Tyr, but also because it reminded him that his doubts about Jowy were unfounded. When Jowy and him met again, he would be able to forgive him. He would be able to recall their friendship and use that as a shield.

"I believed in you... both of us did," Riou said simply before gripping their hands tighter. "I knew that there must have been a reason... and even if... even if you did all that... I remembered you're my friend."

They must have been a strange sight, standing closely together like that, but at their words, Tyr looked up to their faces finally. He wondered if Yuri would have said the same thing, but... if he was going to have people believe in him as a friend still, he wanted those people to be Riou and Connell more than anyone else in the City. (If only because they still lived together.)

"Thanks..." he responded in a quiet, hoarse voice. Although there was much more he could have said to them then, he was happy to keep quiet and let Connell sing a song to their little group. He breathed a small sigh as he looked between the two of them. There was a look of fondness and there that didn't entirely reach his lips, but that, for the time being, Tyr was fine with.

Riou wasn't a very good singer. There were things he was good at like fighting or helping in the kitchen, even taking care of people somehow and befriending them, but singing really wasn't something he was good at. That was why he was content to listen at Connell. Somehow, he didn't really have the ability Connell did when it came to sounds and "hearing the voices inside their hearts" or something like that but... he understood that song. It was a kind and gentle song.

During that, he looked towards Tyr. He was sure Tyr understood too. When that song ended, he gave both of their hands a squeeze.

"Let's go home, everyone," he said to them and then added with some playfulness. "Mukumuku's probably tired of waiting for us too..."

Tyr didn't return the squeezes, but gave a nod as he looked between them. They were trying to lighten the mood, but Tyr wasn't entirely ready to give in yet. There was a sort of warmth between the three of them that Tyr was grateful for even if he couldn't entirely join them yet.

"Then we should head over soon," he said lightly. "We're going to need to let go of each other, though..."

That was his attempt at a joke. He might not have squeezed their hands, but he didn't loosen his grip, either.

Riou made a face and then he grinned at Tyr. "Is it embarrassing?" he asked.

He was used to shows of affection like this though, especially when it came to his friends. There shouldn't be anything wrong with holding hands and hugging his friends, right? They were his friends, after all, and it wasn't like they were doing anything wrong by doing that. It's not like it would be all the time, either.

This time mattered; they needed this after all that had happened.

The grin wasn't returned as Tyr plainly admitted, "A little..."

Looking around them, there was no one around to really see them like this - and he wouldn't have cared that much if there were - but it was still weird.

There was a pause as he continued to look off, and wondered if he should say anything more, but there really wasn't anything they could say that would lessen the guilt he felt. Turning back towards them, he tugged at their hands and took a step forward. "...So we should take this inside."
