When; 8.01.10, sometime in the afternoon
Rating; PG, at worst. And that's only if the wolves come out of the walls, 'cause then it's all over.
Characters; [Bad username or site: srsbusinessk title= @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: manofgnee title= @ livejournal.com]
Summary; Sam's making a journal of the big bads in the City, Hanna's making a journal of the curses in the City. Collaboration time!
Log; With everything that's been going on lately, Sam has been in desperate need of a distraction. A break, a vacation, just something to take him away from all the of the stress and worrying and fear. He has to stay focused, stay in control. And the journal is a very good way to do that. He's been focusing his time into working on it during the seemingly endless wait for Dean to come back. It's good. It makes the time go by faster. Makes all of this slightly more bearable. And hey, if he can help people out in the meanwhile, that's just an added bonus.
All that's left to add is a detailed report on the curses, and that's where Hanna comes in. Whether he realizes it or not, Hanna has helped Sam out quite a bit, and he's extremely grateful for it. So, along with his journal, Sam brings a case of Jones soda and some chips over to the younger man's house. If they're going to work on the journals, might as well make an event out of it.

The City was his greatest case yet. It was a mystery begging to be solved, with no clear enemies, no clear motives, and so many twists and turns that it could make one's head spin.
But, Hanna hadn't been doing the best job investigating. Keeping track of the curses was one thing, but learning about the darkest corners and the darkest minds in the City was something else...and he didn't have notes on that.
Sam was brilliant, keeping notes on those things...and info exchange was going to be fantastic, and he was looking forward to it.
As Hanna continues to organize his notes, he hears a knock on the door...but before he can get up to answer it, Lassie is ahead of him, bounding ahead, barking and scratching at the door with a level of energy that a heavily pregnant dog shouldn't have.
"Come on in, it's unlocked!!"

Laughing just a little bit, he smiles down at her, "Hang on, hang on. Let me put this down first." He sets the soda down on the floor, making sure they were a good distance away from the notes so that they couldn't somehow get them wet, before kneeling down and petting Lassie affectionately. "Hey girl, how've you been? Not giving Hanna too much trouble, are you?"
Then he looks over to his friend, that big ol' grin still in place, "Is that everything?"

Hanna smiles, looking up over the large pile of papers and waving at Sam.
"Most of it! There's some more notes and evidence and stuff in my room...sorry about the mess, by the way!"
Now that Hanna was the only one left in his apartment, he hadn't felt any real inclination to clean up, so things were scattered everywhere, ranging from papers and various colored markers to plates and socks. Hanna also looks tired, and a bit thinner than the last time he saw Sam in person, but he's smiling as he moves to get up to greet his pal properly.
"I've got copies of the curse journal, as well as my other notes and stuff I got from poking about...oooh, you brought food! I'm starving, awesome!!"

Hanna laughs again and hugs Sam back, grateful for the company. It's been too quiet around here...
He can't help it, and he just shrugs, smiling.
"I'm all right...I've just been busy, haven't gotten around to cleaning things up or packing...gotta look after Lassie and Iznagi, do flower shop stuff, research...you know, the usual."
He hopes that he can smile and shrug off Sam's entirely justified worries.
"Don't worry about me, I'm ok. Now, we have some work to do, I think! And you brought snacks, which is awesome. I'm starving!"
Hanna grins and moves to get the snacks. There's a reason he's lost weight.

"We could order pizza!! Ok, that is good motivation to get to work!"
He moves to sit down on the couch next to Iznagi, who bleats. Hanna just stares at the sheep for a minute.
"Iznagi, I know you like the couch, but Sam is our guest...you can move for a little while, right? Please?"
The sheep bleats, sounding a bit irritated, before moving.
"C'mon, sit down, relax!"

"Alright, so, this is nowhere near complete so don't go making fun of me for it, but this is what I have so far."
Folded inside the journal (http://srsbusinessk.livejournal.com/4940.html) are the copies he made of each page on the way here, which he then hands to Hanna. They're copies of handwritten information, but Sam's such a neat freak that it doesn't make it any more difficult to read than a page out of a book. It even comes with complimentary drawings and side notes!

"Sam...this is awesome!! Jeez, you got so much here...this is fantastic!!"
He can't help but blush slightly, smiling sheepishly as he hands over his notes.
"Mine aren't as neat as yours, but..."

He takes a couple of minutes reading over Hanna's notes, then turns to him not so much surprised but impressed. "These are great, Hanna. It's...pretty much perfect, to finish this thing. I'm gonna try to have it finished and up on the Network by the end of this week."
no subject
And his reaction? Was not one Hanna was expecting.
He beams at Sam, resisting the urge to just lean over and hug him.
"You really think they're good? I mean, they're not really neat, and I though they could've been more consistent...but I'm gonna keep going with what I got. I've also got some water and dirt samples in my room...photos from the Underground...stuff like that, too. Thought it couldn't hurt."
He shrugs and never stops smiling.
"I mean, if you wanna see. You think they'll help any?"

He grins in response, glad they're making some progress.
"Jeez...I know this isn't an official case, but this is one of the toughest things I've ever had to investigate..."

"Yeah...it's all an important part of the job, though. Always worth it. Still, speaking of dangerous, I haven't been able to properly examine the Underground..."

He sighs before taking a big drink, frowning.
"Like I'd ask people to, anyway. That place is tough."

"True...I just don't want people to get hurt for the cause of 'just looking around'..."
He shrugged a bit, smiling slightly.
"But hey, at least I got you, right?"

"Those are the best kinds of investigations, especially when they go right!!"
Hanna grinned some more, moving to have another drink. Sam was a great pal, and he cared about him very much. Working together like this just felt right, and he loved it.
"Hey, can you pass the chips?"
