Summary;   He never wanted her to find out about his plans for Zero Requiem... But, as all secrets of his in this place, it is bound to come out sooner or later. Perhaps there is still a chance to mend the damages done by this curse.

[ in a sense, this is the worst possible way she could have found out about his demise at the hands of Suzaku. he is not sorry for taking actions that lead up to the Requiem nor will he apologize for being willing to forfeit his life, no matter the tears that she will shed. this is something he had to do and he had been determined to do from the start. it is merely unfortunate that she has to come to find out the truth.

he isn't sure if he is going to fully explain his reasoning behind Zero Requiem yet or not. the only thing on his mind is getting back, even if that means calling off the rest of the night, and speaking to her without fear of someone hacking into their private conversations. Lelouch is private person and his matters should be dealt with in a similar fashion. however, this is something best done in person as well.

so he enters their home, heart heavy and mind racing. ]

[She moved into his room at some point, barely aware she was doing it. His door is partially open, just enough to show her folded over on herself, face buried in a pillow. It muffles the sound of her crying.

She doesn't understand this. She doesn't want it to be true. They are supposed to be happy.]

[ it doesn't take much to figure out where she is. even the muffled sound of her crying can be heard through the walls once he's close enough. it hurts, it truly does. he hadn't wanted to bring about more pain for her...

and he is not about to say that he chose this path to clear her name as well. she would be devastated.

he waits for a moment before stepping inside his own room to place a hand on her shoulder. ]

[She quakes at the touch and then looks up. Her eyes are a little puffy and pink.]

I have done many things, Euphemia, that justice requires punishment for. For the lives I have taken directly or indirectly, for using Geass... It is the one way I can put it to an end.

[Her eyes flood with more tears. She wants to say something, but it won't come out. Instead, she reaches out for her brother.]

She carries your dream, Euphie. I believe she will make it a reality. I played the role well enough that there should be no grieving.

It is what I wished to believe. Need to, really. As much as I love her, Euphemia... The need of the world far outweighs her desire to have me at her side.

Does... Does she know? [She means the Nunnally who is here with them now. Is she going to be just as shocked when she sees Suzaku's post?]

[Euphie nods. She's no less grieving than before, but her body is growing tired. The tears and breathing are slowing as she holds on to her brother.]

Guilt, perhaps. The person he loves died without him being able to protect her. He will end up killing his best friend and faking his own death. It is true that the life known as Kururugi Suzaku is ruined. That does not, however, mean he as I know him is not at peace with it.

[She shakes her head, not wanting this. Not wanting this life for Lelouch or Suzaku.] No... It wasn't... It wasn't supposed to be like this. [If the SAZ had worked they could have been together.]
