Summary; The Victrola has become a luxurious ballroom for celebrating Fuu's 15th birthday party.
Log; All their efforts had lead them to this. Against all odds, despite the horrible moments curses and dangers unfailingly put them through, Umi knew it was important to remember dates as important as this one. The occasion was nothing she was allowing The City to ruin: Fuu's 15th birthday was something to remember, all the more because it would be the first birthday her best friend and sister would spend away from home.

Thankfully not from her family, the Water Knight thought as she took a look around her and pondered the arrangements. The Victrola had been transformed into a gorgeous, gold-tinted ballroom for celebrating the Wind Knight's birthday. Umi herself had been specific about the details.

So she went through a quick revision of the surroundings. Took in the beautifully set tables with their polished silverware and floral centerpieces straight from the Koneko: each arranged so that every guest knew where they would sit. Some of the guests danced in pairs. Others stood around holding glasses of champagne as a soft music played in the background. The numerous presents had been arranged on a table near the buffet. And the highlight of such was of course the giant birthday cake Umi herself had baked -- her ultimate masterpiece, made to match the decorations too.

Smiling, she moved through the crowd to greet the newcomers.

Standing around in her azure evening dress (http://i53.tinypic.com/ej7yh3.jpg), Umi breathed deep and felt happy for how worth it their party-planning efforts had been. A good closure for a horrible week, and certainly nothing she was letting the recent events taint.

...Fuu had become more than her best friend and sister ever since she arrived in The City. She'd been Umi's confident and constant source of support. The Water Knight wished for no less than the happiest birthday Fuu could remember. And, perhaps, for her friends, family and other loved ones to forget a bit of the sorrows of The City for a while: be reminded this could be a place to feel grateful for too. Umi knew she felt like that tonight.

Everyone kept making weird faces at her and telling her perhaps she should consider she still was under the legal drinking age at home, each time Umi brought up the fact she allowed herself a sip of champagne on special occasions.

Well, there the Water Knight stood by the bar, glass of champagne in hand, daring anyone to tell her they objected this occasion was indeed special enough to merit a little toast.

So what to do next. She wondered if she should get a partner try dancing...

[Can you see how happy you've made her, Umi? Okay, so maybe she anticipated a party because they already made surprise parties for bother and Hikaru. But this elegant and well-prepared? She... was at a loss for words.

...Hey there, birthday girl. [Well, that was always the whole point of this party, making Fuu happy. They've had a lot of unhappy and sad, even confusing in the last few days. Umi is certainly glad they have this chance not only to celebrate Fuu's birthday but to cheer everyone up.

She winks playfully at Fuu. And gives her a little hug.] Aren't we looking GORGEOUS! So. Did we catch you by surprise or did you totally see this coming?

[She returns the hug. Just the simple thought of them arranging a party for her and making this swanky was enough to cheer her up. Fuu isn't exactly high-maintenance.

At Umi's question, though, she giggles. Maybe a bit of a blush there at the compliment.] Both. I allowed myself the benefit of not thinking of a surprise party even if I know there would be one. So, I was still surprised, but I also saw this coming.

Clever. No shocker, coming from you. I hope you like the way we arranged the place! [Umi herself is rather proud of how everything turned out. The Victrola may not be large, but it certainly lends itself well to the event. Besides the colors fit the luxury of the occasion.] It's not everyday that we get all our friends to dress in stylish evening clothes.

Oh, I most definitely loved it! [She looks around in awe!] I can not believe how much effort you guys have placed in this.

[At her last statement, she giggles.] Yes, I agree. This is a very rare opportunity then!

Well. It's what you deserve. [Umi's smile becomes less impish and more honest. She means these words from the heart, after all.] Or close.

I know it's not the same as enjoying a birthday back home, Fuu. Especially a birthday as important as this one! But... [She sighs a bit wistfully.] I really wanted to make sure you don't regret celebrating it with us, even in this place...

[Her words, Fuu meant this from the bottom of her heart too.] I don't have any regrets. This is exactly more than what I have expected. You really did manage to out do yourself this time, Umi-san. You and everyone else.

...That's really all I ask for. [Umi smiled at Fuu as she took her hands in hers.] I don't ever want you to have any regrets. And I want to make this a birthday to remember.

[Her smile grew brighter.] Just like we did for Hikaru's last August!

Yes, that one was indeed memorable. [Luau and all that! It truly matched Hikaru's personality... and magic.] I suppose we have to out do yours this March.

Don't think all the way into March yet. Let's enjoy tonight! [Really, who knows what may happen from here to March. Umi'd much rather not think of it and sooner make the most of the moment.] One birthday at a time, I'd say. And right now yours is the one that matters.

I suppose you're right. [She'd be nodding in agreement as she looks around to the people and the decorations in this place.]

There is a commotion at the doorway as a young girl tries to enter the party and an over protective guest tries to prevent someone that young from getting into a party clearly meant for a slightly older crowd. This situation is quickly resolved when a rather large dragon picks the gentleman up and deposits him outside…
The dragon illusion then disappears as soon as it’s brief mission is complete.

Once inside the Victrola, Lady Aska takes a moment to stop and look around the elegantly decorated room. Her eyes sparkle at all of the wonderful decorations, glittering almost as much as her new Earth-style dress (http://www.sosweetboutique.com/fpdb/images/pageant-dresses-81234S.jpg).

“Happy Birthday, Fuu!”

She did see the table full of gifts, but wanted to give Fuu her present in person...
And she was too short to reach the top of the table...

Eagle had reservations about this. Not because he was antisocial or had a underlying fear of parties, he had been to enough social occasions to know what was expected… it was how his presence here would be interpreted. So many of his actions, even harmless ones like speaking to Hikaru, had been, justly or not, misinterpreted… he didn’t want this to be yet another source of conflict. They had enough real reason to be enemies.

Still… Umi had been so insistent and even Lantis was coming…

So, in he walks with no trace of apprehension. Eagle had managed to research Earth styles and he was wearing something appropriate for the occasion. Cutting a fine image in a black tuxedo, classic white shirt, and dark colored tie. He didn’t appear to have any weapons on him… but then this was Eagle, so it was entirely possible he did slip some inconspicuous little gem in.

Doesn’t make a face or say one word about what Umi was up to. They had already had that conversation after all. Eagle just smiles at the girl as she scowls at those that do dare to mention it.

Geo wasn't entirely sure what he was doing here. he'd only met the wind knight once for any great duration and that had been in battle before he'd arrived in the City. While he had stayed at the beach house for a brief period of time, the two hadn't crossed paths. Still, it was an important day and Eagle had suggested attending. In honor of the birthday girl, he'd prepared an assortment of sweets, tucked them neatly into a box and wrapped them up with a large bow on the top.

There was one detail that had been overlooked. Instead of arriving in his finest, he opted for a more casual fair. He arrived dressed in his usual uniform. Stepping into the posh setting he couldn't help but feel a little self conscious and out of place.

"Am I .. the only one... that dressed like this?," He thought to himself before quietly adding, "They really went all out, didn't they?".

It didn't seem like that long ago, when they had been celebrating her own birthday but it was nothing like this! Hikaru was marvelling at the decorations, and all the details that had gone into this party. She really didn't know how Umi always managed to pull these things together, and so expertly.

Still, she hadn't run into Fuu yet, trying to find her was serving as a bit of a problem. Her short stature was not helping in the slightest as she swiftly hopped a few times in order to see over the other attendees.

Having recently returned to the City, quite unexpectedly, she felt fortunate not to have missed one of her best friends birthdays!

Meanwhile here is your Commander sporting Earth style… looking at Geo like he has a monster sitting on his head.
Eagle crosses the distance between them to smile up at his Sub Commander, “Missed the part about this being a formal Earth occasion did you?”

[Awww Aska! She'd be giving you a very Fuu-like smile and take that present from you. Such a sweet sweet girl you are. Have a short bow.]

We weren’t sure what to get you… but everyone could use one of these!

[And blushing slightly at being thanked… ]

Yo… your welcome!

Come on. [Umi takes Fuu's hand in hers to lead her through the ballroom.] Let's grab a drink and see who else is out there. Don't forget everyone wants to see the birthday girl!

And she was half-expecting he might try to dodge the invitation somehow... Umi wonders if Lantis or Hikaru are out there nearby and which of them ended up escorting Eagle to the party.

Knowing his mind about the drinking thing, she smirks and raises her glass as a salute to the Commander, never bothering to hide the satisfaction of finding him there against all odds. "Why, aren't we looking handsome today..."

"Aska! Glad you're here! Looks like the whole gang's around tonight." Umi heard a little commotion near the door and -- good hostess as she is -- decided to check out what was happening. There seemed to be very little to worry about, so now she forgets about whatever it could have been and instead greets the young Princess with a wave. Boy, doesn't Aska look cute as a button.

"Gorgeous dress, too. The color suits you! I hope the Fahren grandpa doesn't mind you staying up late tonight."
