Most people who get hit with the gender switch curse find it a relatively stressful experience and often stay home. Curt is a little more adventurous and is actually pretty excited about performing as a woman so everyone can see how hot he still is. He's decided on the stage name Candy because it was the trashiest name he could think of and that's how his brain works. He uses the breaks between songs to flirt with the crowd, clearly enjoying himself. His voice is higher, of course, but retains a familiar rough, growly quality.

[Stephen wanders into the greenroom (or what the bar owners called the green room. It looks suspiciously to Stephen like a converted closet). He is visibly shaking, although those who know him well may notice that he's actually doing pretty well in terms of pre-show anxiety. He's usually hyperventilating at this point.]

I think I just just threw up everything I ate today, so I'm pretty sure I'm good to go on.

[Curt just pats Stephen on the back with a look of concern. Having seen Stephen before concerts before, it's more of a general concern about how Stephen is built then about whether he'll be fine for this particular concert.]

You know, I could get you something.

[Curt doesn't show obvious nerves, though he's excitement is always clear and he's drinking his second one of something pink.]

No, I'm fine. It's better knowing I don't have anything to throw up on stage.

[Stephen drops himself into a nearby chair and buries his face in his arms.]

I just need a few minutes.

I meant like pills or something, but yeah, all right. We have a little bit of time before we have to go on.

[THAT'S fine?] So, you've been throwing up before shows on purpose? [Whatever the implication of this question is, it's unintentional. But Stephen wasn't acting like he was that one curse when he first joined the band.

Then again, neither was Demyx. He turns to Curt, or whatever he was calling himself for this performance.] You've got medicine that can calm people down?

[Whenever possible, Curt likes to hang out with the crowd that's come to see him. It's fun to drink with fans and also it's not like a normal night for him would be over any time soon. Which, considering what's likely to happen at midnight, means he has a backpack with a complete change of clothes. It may be Cinderella's curfew, but just because Candy's turning back into Curt isn't a reason to stop partying. And he's definitely partying. There may be dancing on a table soon.]

Getting stoned usually doesn't help that much.

[Stephen tilts his head off his arms and peers at Curt. He grins a little lop-sidely.]

You know, you're still really hard to take seriously looking like that.

Believe me, if I had any control over this, I wouldn't be spending every 30 minutes before a gig doubled over a toilet.

What? Why not? Did I get lipstick all over my face again?

[Curt takes a moment to check himself out in the mirror again. And then just continues checking himself out.]

Not medicine, exactly. And I don't have anything on me right now, but I could probably get something pretty easily.

[Curt decides this is something Demyx should probably not be taking notes on.]

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I don't want anyone getting too calm, and I'm pretty sure he'll be fine.

[Here, have a really and truly ecstatically pleased Neil basically planted as close to the band as he can get. His excitement is partly a result of not having seen live music in far too long, and partly just happiness at hearing someone besides himself sing today.]

This is awesome... Aren't they awesome?

[He's not really talking to anyone in particular, but whatever. He's engaged, in any case.]

You never have any problem when we rehearse. You're good. Why're you so nervous now?

Oh. Cause maybe it'd be a good idea to start carrying some of it before performances if he's like this all the time.

[Pause. Can anyone be too calm? Huh.]

Yeah. That's what I said too.

Well there isn't an audience when we're rehearsing!

No, you look fine. Better than fine.

Although the dress was a odd choice.

[Dulcie sidles up to the bar and orders herself a drink. Campbell had told her about the gig, and had cheerfully agreed to show up. She hadn't seen a live show in AGES. Her left wing was still acting up from the phantom pains, so she'd tied it down with a sizable black ribbon. The other she'd painted with the Time Bomb logo, and it was spread out cheerfully, bumping into people and generally being annoying. She was back in the clothes she'd arrived in the City in, minus the breast plate. Steel-toed boots, turn fishnets, kilt, and an over-sized ripped black t-shirt. She notices Candy/Curt out of the corner of her eye, and rather un-subtly slides down the bar to gush a little.]

Hi! You were awesome tonight!

[Stephen - as always - is fine once he gets on stage. The venue is small but packed, and the audience responsive. A grin spreads over his face as he starts getting into the music, watching Curt and Campbell's usual shenanigans on the stage. THIS totally makes the nerves and the anxiety totally worth it.

He makes out Neil right near the front of the audience. His hands are kind of busy, but he tries to make eye contact with him and smile during a break between songs.]

[And then Campbell busts in wearing The Worst Shirt In The World (http://a3.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/140/23aaf3e5aff641c4bcf08299f6c1eba4/l.jpg). Yes, he's managed to find it in-City. There will be time to gloat about it after the gig.]

Are y' done yet, Stephen? Is it time t' go on? What's the time, I'm no wearing a watch!

A lot of people get stage fright. I know guys who used to play with their backs to the audience before they got comfortable.

I got arrested in a dress once...

[Distraction sequence initiated.]

[Curt is rendered briefly speechless. His mouth drops open. He closes it and they starts to form words, but there are no words, and his mouth is left hanging open again.]

Bwah...?

Oh, that's what bothers you? Well, why would you play any worse in front of an audience?

[Curt notices the wing first, since it's pretty obvious and he's very surprised and super flattered to see it painted with their logo. He's had trouble attracting hardcore fans outside of the rock and roll curse day, so this is promising. The second thing he notices is the girl and her outfit, which looks pretty cool.]

Nice wings. Are those...real?

[Not a context in which he's ever used that phrase before.]

Because... eugh! You guys don't care if I screw up!

[Yeah, Demyx's brand of cool logic - not really very helpful during highly irrational panic attacks.]

Sorry. I can't do this. I'm not gonna go on tonight!
