When; May 23rd
Characters;
servidude,
greatergone, and
blastiafreak
Summary; Kais wishes to find non-combat uses for his technology in the City; Guy and Rita agree to take a look. They may possibly just want to take it apart.
Log;
Once Rita confirmed that this Kais guy was on his way, she sent Guy a message telling him to come too if he wanted in on their little meeting. If there was one fascinating thing about the City, it was the foreign technology she could potentially access--not all of it was all that interesting to her, but maybe she'd find something to occupy her mind for a little while. And she did agree, anyway.
As promised, she waited around for the other two to show up.

The sand was a welcome feeling as his home planet was almost entirely a desert and he had not been there in a while. An indicator began to blink and he raised his eyes, viewing his destination. He had to...knock on the door. The information was drawn from his subconscious, all being imprinted into his mind at a young age. His armored fingers reached up tentatively and rapped on the door.

"Hey Kais." Normally he'd be all for waiting on the porch for politeness's sake, but Rita had already made it clear that he should just come right in, so when he joined the alien at the door he simply opened it and stepped inside.
"Come on in--Rita's study is that way. I'll be right there." Guy pointed down the hall and swung his bag down so he could reach into it, taking out a container of food to leave in the kitchen for the rest of the household--sweets for Yuri and some extra food from the restaurant for Estelle and Flynn. And the other container of food he had with him was coming along for the three of them. Rice balls and dango--not the healthiest snacks Guy could have brought, but they were easy finger food, and if the session lasted as long as he thought it might, the refreshments would be needed.

His appearance didn't surprise her, as she'd seen much stranger things both there and back home, though she was very obviously interested in the armour. "Kais, right?" It was the closest thing to a greeting she'd make. "We'll take a look at it in here."
She started to disappear back into the study before, almost as an afterthought, she added, "and don't fall through the floor." There were still several holes in the wooden floor. Not that the disastrous and messy state of the room made them easy to spot.

"Greetings." He raised his fingers in response again and then turned his head to the floor. The red light on the helmet blinked a few times, marking out the small pitfalls but that wasn't what caught his eye. It was the human architecture that was so blocky and angular. Even the wood was cut into long rectangles. It would take some getting used to considering it was everywhere.
Stepping into the study himself, he pressed a couple buttons on his gauntlet and removed his helmet, blinking a little under the sudden exposure to other spectrums of light. Wanting to be prepared, he hit another button and a few servos in his armor whined as connections detached. He reached behind his back at the waist and pulled off his now loose backpack since most of what he needed to show was in there.

He hasn't lost sight of their main goal, of course, which was to help Kais find some non-combat applications for his skills and tech, but Guy couldn't help it if he was a little excited all the same, and not really for altruistic reasons.
"I guess the first question is what power source does your equipment run on?" A basic question, but considering the diversity even in the technology based on electricity verses things like fontech or blastia, it was important to know. Power sources could always be adapted or course.

Oh, that's right. They were supposed to be helping this guy, not experimenting on him (yet). Since Guy had already asked question they most needed, Rita listened to what Kais would have to say. It was pretty likely they could find some common ground, so she didn't think for a second that there would be difficulty understanding it.

He unslings the rifle from his back and ejects the pack out of the bottom of the shoulder butt. He offers the hand sized, square object over.
"Humans use something less efficient but far easier to charge and mantain. There are stories of simply being able to throw a human powerpack into a fire and it will charge from the heat energy. Of course, it is far less powerful and unable to fire my rifle even once."

"Go ahead and sit, Kais." He offered, giving the man another friendly smile. "If it's an electrical power source we already have a good base to work with. Would you tell us about what your armor can do? We already had some ideas for beneficial applications of the technology, but they're only theoretical, we'd need a better look and idea of how it works."
He glanced at Rita to see if she had anything to add or questions for Kais. They had a lot of ground to cover.
"And did you have any other ideas about what you might want to do with yourself?"
no subject
"It looks like most of the technology native to the City runs on electricity, besides what people like us have brought from our own worlds," she added. "So we have the power source, no problem. How many of these cells do you have with you?"
no subject
He paused for a moment and glanced down at his belt. "I keep thirteen packs for my weapons and one spare for my armor for emergency situations."

Guy was lost in thought a moment, considering the security applications of such technology. "Rita, do you think we can reproduce the batteries? We probably wouldn't even need them at that high an output, since they wouldn't power weapons."

She barely gave Guy's suggestion a few moments' thought before she was already agreeing; it didn't even occur to her to ask for Kais' consent. "I can't guarantee anything until we've taken one apart, but I'm willing to bet on it. City Solutions has more facilities and equipment if we need them."
