Escaping to the roof worked many times with his mother. Apparently it worked for the girl too. He didn't say anything right away because he was too caught up in the letter. He was looking for something interesting, and he got that. However, it didn't mean that it was necessarily a good thing. This letter was obviously meant for him because his name was on the envelope, but it's contents kind of bugged him.
It's really weird to be back in this place again. Especially since we both left together that time-- and somehow this places pulled me back in again, and with my memories too.
It really is ironic that I finally figured out my feelings like a few days before that too and from a curse too-- even if you didn't think I was serious at first. But I guess that's my fault for being taking almost two years of being here? But a lot did happen after all.
You'd better not let it get to your head that I'm going to miss you while you're gone, even from this place-- but I'm going to be okay. Even if you did win your bet, I still have to keep my part of my promise in the meantime.
Yeah. I don't even know why I'm writing this. This is dumb, it's not like I'm planning on giving this to you anyway, whether you do remember or not if this place does decide to send you back here--
It ended there. He felt sort of glad to see some of this, but most of it made him a little sad. She had thought about all this before. He left her behind. Why did he leave her behind? He needed to find his father but... when she was here all alone... At the very least, back home she had her friends and family. Here, she had nobody. So why...?
"Yeah... I'm outside...," he said dryly, folding the note again.
