[Chekov doesn't visit the captain immediately. It still feels like he shouldn't be allowed to see this--see Captain Kirk unwell. Captains are supposed to have an air of invulnerability about them. But, by the nineteenth, he fears that a reluctance to be disillusioned will be misinterpreted as apathy towards the captain's plight. Kirk is a brilliant captain; he died to save them. He deserves more than disinterest from his crew.
