Log;

Christine had spent most of the day in her dressing room, giving Erik time and space to contemplate things on his own. He had always been a solitary man, although not by choice, but she did not know if he was comfortable with confiding in her with his feelings. She herself didn't even want to talk about it; she felt absolutely horrible for what she had done. That curse had made her commit adultery, and with a man she didn't even know!

She shuddered, shoving the memories away from her as if it were the plague. She had bathed at least a dozen times when she had gotten back, but she still felt tainted. She had gone to the priest, confessed her sins, and yet her heart was still troubled. She knew why it was so, but she was nervous. She remembered all too well Erik's anger when she had tore the mask from his face, when he had nearly killed Raoul. The anger frightened her. It was dark, but it was justified, and that's what made it so frightening.

She paced her room relentlessly until she finally couldn't stand it anymore. She needed his forgiveness. She couldn't bear to stand another moment knowing he must be alone in his pain. Christine left her own room, Angel's new calico friend following close behind. Angel herself was with Erik; she had caught a glimpse of the kitten slipping into the manager's office. At least he has Angel to comfort him, she thought. But...he needs more than that...he deserves to hear my apology from my own lips.

She paused in front of the manager's office, wringing her hands in nervousness. For a moment she considered abandoning her plan altogether, but she knew she couldn't. She had a responsibility. Timidly, Christine knocked on the closed - and most likely locked - door of the manager's office. She didn't say anything; she knew if she told Erik it was her, he would probably refuse to see her.
