[ she allows herself to be tugged along -- allows being the key word here. without a moment's notice, kathryn could decide she's had enough of this, is tired of feeling and acting like some whimsical cadet in an outdated uniform in the wrong color, and put on the breaks. her proverbial captain's shields would raise, and she'd fall back into the comfort and security of command mode, somewhere that's oddly safer for her to be than the parts of her that aren't tied to her rank and position. but for now, she's alright with it, and is actually enjoying herself. she'd still leave the city in a heartbeat if provided with the proper means of getting back to her ship, but she's adjusting. slowly.
it's not relenting or even accepting her fate. kathryn fully believes that she'll see voyager again, that she'll get her crew home.
