He watches, possibly waiting for some kind of slip-up that would be just as entertaining as any kind of success that could come from this experiment. Is this what observation feels like-- the kind of payoff? Al's not sure if he's willing to fully embrace it just yet, but it's a nice touch to any kind of prank or joke. Surely he can fit it into these kinds of scenarios as well.
